I have lived next door for 3 years now. I have tried all the little cafes in my neighborhood. I used to come here before and buy an oat milk latte regularly because it was arguably the best on my street. That said, there's barely any local people in this cafe for good reasons. Today, it took 40 minutes (while there were only 6 customers before me) to make my cappucino. The price of the food items is ridiculously expensive, even for the area. I don't know how it can be this bad since they have very little fresh food, but almost every time I come here, I find expired food (eggs, cheeses or meats). Plus, they newly removed all the price tags on the shelves, so the only way to know the prices is to wait in line to ask at the register. So, by the time you get there, even when your item is double the price, you end up buying it because you don't wait to waste any more time. For me, the lack of transparency in removing the prices was the last straw. Even if their coffee is good, it's no longer worth it. I promised myself today that it was the last time I would ever come here again.
TL;DR it has recently gotten worse... food items expired, way overpriced, and without any price tags. Good coffee, but extremely long wait for...
Read moreI needed to work on a project (and didn’t feel like working at home), so I headed to this location. I purchased their very overpriced Latte ($8.75 because I also tipped them a $1) and as I’m paying I see a sign taped on the cash register that says NO LAPTOPS. YOU’RE A CAFE!!! I only purchased your very expensive drink to sit and enjoy it whilst I worked. Their location on St. PAUL doesn’t except electronic devices either. Not to mention, the staff at both locations have always been incredibly unfriendly! I am now sitting and working at a fancy restaurant around the corner who invited me AND my laptop right in as they understand it’s a MONDAY NIGHT and they aren’t very busy. Needless to say, never stepping foot in these cafes again. Also, their lattes are never very tasty… probably because they’re made by very grouchy,...
Read moreThis cafe is super cute and has a really cool kitschy design. It has a bunch of antique furniture and just a cool eclectic vibe overall. It's also half old timey general Store. So they sell a lot of cute food stuffs and souvenirs.
We ordered an iced coffee and the giant Oreo. Unfortunately, the giant Oreo although extremely intriguing was a bust. The cookie was so thick and so dry. It did taste like it was made with black cocoa so it did have that Oreo flavor but we literally had to take off the top cookie to even render it edible at all. The cream was good and it helped. But I'm so shocked that they had that for sale because I would be hard pressed to believe that anybody liked the sandwich as it was sold.
The ice mocha was good but we got it in a paper cup and the paper cup was starting to...
