Being a sugar cane lover, I went in with my wife and asked for 2 cups of the stuff. The waiter behind the counter grabbed 2 disposable cups and dispensed this supposed sugar cane juice, but only half of each cup. When we asked to fill it up, in a broken english she said no,no,no and filled the rest with ice, but we requested no ice. She then proceeded to remove the ice, but refused to fill it up. When we asked for the price, she initially said $4.70 per cup, but when we flashed a 20.00 dollar bill she gave to us a change of 5.30. The punch line here is, not only the juice was completely fake and tasted despicable, with hints of orange peel, and she robbed on the change. The only resemblance to the original sugar cane juice was its color !!! we threw it out. I would give a review of -1 or zero if I could. The smell of the "restaurant" was also quite questionable. The orientals in general need to change their practices in our country and be honest and clean. In another restaurant in the region, we asked to use the toilette and they refused, since that we were not paying customers !!! These guys need to learn to be kind and learn the Canadian customs, since that they are living and working here, not in their own countries. Moral of the story, I will never return to their area...
Read moreAlmost four years ago, my friends and I ate here after I looked up the resto to celebrate one of our friend's bdays. Boy, was I not disappointed by the taste, quality, and price, and so were my friends.
I had eaten practically everything offered on the menu at home or at other Viet restaurants except Mỹ Cảnh's Mì la cay. I haven't found it at any other Viet restos in or outside the island.
Mì la cay can be ordered with the soup on top of or beside the noodles. I still remember eating it four years ago, and it did not disappoint two weeks ago. The xá xíu (char siu pork) went along so well with the noodles and fried shrimp fritter and dried onions, not to mention what devil's seasoning is in the sauce 🤤
I asked my mom about it, and she told me that it has Chinese influences and that the recipe is kept secret-no wonder I can't find it on the internet! I guess I'll just stop by Mỹ Cảnh every time I crave...
Read moreMy family and I went to eat lunch there and the portion of the food for the price we paid for isn't worth it. We were still hungry after eating the food but the service was so long that we decide to pay for the meal and eat elsewhere after.
The food was alright in term of taste. My mom and my husband's grilled pork was overcooked/burn bit too much on the side. We cut as much possible the burn meat 🍖 The yellow crispy noodle meal portion was very small compared to any other restaurant. My mom got her plate maybe half hour after ours, which we were sharing our plates together in the meantime.
Beside the portion and the long service, taste was okay + the service was friendly, no issue on the service part 🫶
The meals cost was about ~120$ for all in the picture before the...
