My sister and I were looking for a comfort spot that wasnโ€™t too far away from our hotel. We found this cute little Korean spot with authentic dishes. We ordered the following: - Octopus Bibimbap - Beef Bulgolgi Ssam Bap - Saewoo Tigim They also gave us these pickled vegetables as our starters. Everything tasted really delicious! I especially loved the crispy rice at the bottom of the stone bowl (bibimbap). The bulgolgi was really tender. I really liked wrapping it in a lettuce wrap with rice and ssam. They also gave us some kimchi that we also put into the lettuce wraps. The shrimp was lightly battered with panko. The sauce they served with the shrimp is a wasabi-mayonnaise that was tangy. Everything tasted very authentic. We noticed that the chefs were both Korean. The customer service was good too. Our food didnโ€™t take too long to arrive. The space is a little smaller - probably seated around 15 people in total, so make sure to do reservations or go earlier when they open so you get a spot. We were seated at the bar side for our meal. Overall a nice cozy Korean spot for dinner. Definitely would recommend!

This amazing Korean restaurant is a hidden gem on the corner of Ontario Street and Clark Street in downtown Montreal :) Just a few steps from Saint Laurent metro. Feels like you have walked into a different cozy world with mesmerizing lanterns everywhere. The staff is super kind and welcoming and food is beyond delicious. We had Fried Squid for appetizers and the kimchi was a gourmet's delight. For dinner, I thoroughly enjoyed my Chicken Bulgogi Bibimbap and others in the group also loved their Octopus Bibimbap as well as Chicken Bulgogi. I know I will be coming back to this restaurant with family and friends again. Would recommend 10/10 UPDATE: Went and tried Pajun for appetizers which were the best seafood crispy pancakes! We also tried out favorite Dol sot Bibimbap with beef, octopus, and spicy shrimp. Also loved the chicken bulgogi which was just as delicious:) For dessert we had the chocolate mousse and mango sorbet:) A fantastic restaurant to enjoy the delicacies of authentic Korean food

First time here and I was quite disappointed. I ordered the soondooboo jigae and it was unbearably salty. I know you have to eat it with rice but even with rice, it was still difficult to eat! It tasted as if they accidentally poured too much salt into it. I had to dump my entire cup of water to be able to pull through and finish my rice, but even during that, I avoided the soup and ate only the veggies and tofu with a fork. My friend recommended me this place and I really wanted to like it but my stew was awful. Maybe they did accidentally added too much salt. I personally eat quite a lot of salty things but this was inedible imo. The flavors were nice, donโ€™t get me wrong, but it was just insanely salty for me, probably even for anyone for that matter. It left my tongue feeling weird thatโ€™s how badly salty it was. So I hope it was just an isolated salty incident and that the cook really did make a mistake! But on a brighter note, my boyfriend enjoyed his bibimbap!!

This is a very cute restaurant. Decor is lovely, and I was so hoping to be able to give it a higher score. The waitress was lovely. She was alone and had a lot to do, but she was great...except for one major error which I will get to shortly. Started with the Pajun (sea food pancake appetizer). It was fantastic. Amazing flavor and the sauce was perfect. A fantastic start. The typical starter complimentary salads were great bites, and more would have been easily welcomed. We ordered a side of their house-made Kimchi. Solid, as you'd expect, very good. We ordered the beef bibimbap. It was very bland. We only realized AFTER our meal (and my wife asked me not to complain about the lack of flavor during the meal), that other tables were getting their order with a sauce. It came with a sauce; she forgot the sauce. After the meal she apologized...but you'd think that when you render a dish that bad with a huge error, you do 'something' to make good or compensate (hell, even comp the 4$ side order of Kimchi, something). This was not done. The Dak chicken was general tao-ish. Great veggies, crisp chicken, but kind of underwhelming. Not bad, but would not order again. Luckily, we had the idea to end out meal with a second appetizer, the chicken wings. Most certainly the best for last. I'd have that again...though unlkely to go back. 2 appetizers, 2 mains, one side, 3 cocktails, tax, tip, $144.

Generally, that is an okay price for a meal in downtown Montreal, but the overal quality and size of portions....I would have expected that to be an $80-$90 meal.

Would I go back? Probably not...simple Korean done right is in abundance in our city and I'd try elsewhere. If I HAD to go back? The seafood pancake and chicken wings could be...

Cute restaurant and food was good. However horrible service. We came at 7pm and the server asked if we had a reservation, to which we said we didn't. She promptly said they were full and shoo us away without letting us know if we could wait or if there was a possibility to come back later. We had to leave but coudnt find any alternatives and I had the reflex to call the restaurant to see if there was any space for the night for later and to my surprise, the server said that there was availability in 15 minutes. We came back 15 minutes later and the restaurant was practically empty and had a ton of available space to and not as the server had eluded " all full". Until the end of our meal, the restaurant remained quite empty and this was from 7h30 - 9pm.

We got sat down, the food was tasty, but halfway through our meal, we noticed that the other tables had some side dishes that the server would bring to them before their meals which our server never brought to us. I had to inquire about it and she went back and whispered something to the other server and finally came back with the side dishes.

The meal was tasty, however the service distasteful, lacking, which dampened our dinner that could have been quite enjoyable. Please do...

I didn't actually eat there, which is the reason for the bad review. I spent a lot of time at home looking for the restaurant I wanted. I picked Omma because their on-line menu was somewhat informative (which seems to be a challenge for Montreal Restaurants) and because their posted closing time is 10:30PM.

I arrived that night (April 28, 2023) by train. A 7 hour train ride, check into my hotel and I'm at Omma's by 9:20PM. I'm told by the hostess they don't have any tables and the kitchen is closing in 15 minutes. But a couple is getting ready to leave and she asked if I could wait 10 minutes.

So I wait outside and 6 minutes later the couple leaves. I go inside and take their seat. The hostess is taking orders from four young men. When she's finished she comes to me and says "I'm sorry the kitchen is now closed."

So the kitchen closed earlier than the 15 minutes I was previously told but it's still open for the four men whose order she just finished taking 30 seconds earlier?

Don't post a 10:30 closing time and then tell me you're closed at 9:30. I ended up getting a meal I didn't really want, but I had to eat...
