Attempted to host a family event at this venue. Unfortunately, we encountered very rude treatment and unreasonable hostility from an older gentleman who appeared to be both the bartender and manager. The manager displayed a highly disrespectful attitude towards customers. Potential visitors should be prepared for this type of behavior. My comments to the owner's response: I appreciate your attention to the comments here. To clarify, our question to the staff was about the possibility of sharing a birthday cake after eating the burgers we intended to order, and we were waiting for manager approval. I believe discussing this first was the correct approach. Instead of politely refusing, the manager began shouting at the birthday child's mother in front of other customers. Your other comments seem to describe your perception of our intentions rather than our actual behaviour. I suggest you consider that the plates and cups we had in our bag might have been intended for use in the public areas of the old port, not in your establishment. In response to our restrained statements about the manager's inappropriate behaviour towards customers, the manager continued to shout at those who defended the young woman. I felt the manager's bullying attitude could be emotionally and physically dangerous, so I chose to stop escalating the conflict. While you may view my comment as intended to cause harm, after this interaction with the manager, I only wished to make my experience public rather than seek out the establishment's director. Especially taking into account what the manager behaved as if he was the director, while other staff silently continued their work, avoiding direct involvement in the situation. I believe that the ability to control one's anger and timely apologies offered directly to the young woman who was insulted by your employee could have rectified the situation, but unfortunately, this did not happen. As I may be biased, I won't assess your response style but will refer to the conclusion from an AI toximetric analysis of your reply: Detected characteristics: đŸš© Aggressiveness đŸš© Accusation đŸš© Sarcasm Result: 😡 Definitely toxic Assessment: This text demonstrates a high level of toxicity. The author uses an aggressive tone, accuses, and insults the addressee. The message is filled with sarcasm and negative emotions. The use of phrases like "outrageous and deliberate," "sense of entitlement," "pure ignorance," and "bullshit" indicates clear disrespect for the addressee. The text also contains elements of gaslighting, attempting to present the addressee's actions in an extremely negative light, possibly exaggerating the situation. The use of multiple exclamation marks and rhetorical questions reinforces the aggressive tone of the message. This approach to communication can be very offensive and harmful to the recipient.

We were walking old port and got curious. Best burger I had so far in Montreal. That I “inhaled” it. The people were so friendly ❀ Will definitely be back!

Bad food, bad service, bad atmosphere. 1. Order a burger with 1 beer and 1 coke- 40$. Small dry patty. Absolutely no juice in it. Probably microwaved. Tiny as a regular size meatball. Good bun though and fresh vegetables. No fries. Had to order it for another 5.75$. Got the end cuts, little crunchy bits while the few long proper ones were soggy and of horrible brown color. 2. After 20min waiting for my burger, I got up to as a cashier if everything is alright with my order on what she said "this is not McDonald's HONEY!!" I guess it's either McDo or them, then. Because I have never waited 20min for a burger in any sports bar in town nor ate at McDo for at least after Covid. And then I was told to sit down and not to worry. The arrogance and ignorance are real. Burger (or whatever you want to call that juiceless, dry rock) arrived after 25min without fries. Fries ( or whatever you want to call those dry bits) came 5min later with the white hair in it. Probably cat or a rat hair to which discovery 4 tables around us were disgusted with. 3. Ambiance is appalling. You have to go inside and order over the counter while there is a host post on the street where all of us waited as civilized people do. I think there is some real confusion going on about the concept of this joint. Then a few impatient ones went in and the rest of us followed. Getting a table is on a "grab it and win it" principle. The bass beats inside louder than inside a club. You can't hear yourself ordering. Washroom faucet broken so everyone had to use only one that has left available. I guess "This is not a McDonald's, HONEY!!" really sums it up. 45$ for a dry patty(130g - kids size), 3rd world fries, a can of coke, a can of beer and a whole lot of ego. OVERRATED!!

I would give 0 stars, but what the heck, I’ll give one because the total lack of professionalism and total incompetence of this place was a bit amusing. Trust me, you’ll get a better service and experience at Burger King and McDonald’s 😂😂😂 and that’s saying a lot. If you’re the type of person who just wants to eat and doesn’t care about hospitality and service, you won’t mind their food, it’s actually pretty good! It’s heavy, dense, tasty and you’re almost sure to take a big nap after. But for the 99.9% of people who want to have a great experience accompany their food in order for them to enjoy what they’re eating, then I recommend you don’t make the mistake of going. If you do make that mistake, then I definitely recommend you don’t tip! You have to pay at the counter before they start making your food. I have no problem w/ that structure honestly, but when you rack up a $100+ bill and give 15% tip, you expect to get the very least, which is giving you water to drink. They don’t serve water and will make you pay before telling you they don’t serve it and will give you the option to buy a water bottle from them, which is $5 per bottle. Sure, I could’ve asked if they served water before thinking of tipping, but Jesus Christ, who the heck asks if a place serves water before ordering? It’s common sense! 😂 Oh well, I guess common sense isn’t so common nowadays. Now, I’ll keep being honest here, I really insisted on getting the least of what my tip paid for but the best they had to say was “we never asked you to tip and you can leave a review if you’re not happy”. What’s even worse is that they will serve you a cup of ice with the $5 water bottle you just bought and this will ultimately make you question the actual competence and intelligence of their workforce. I could’ve literally just let that cup of ice melt and gotten my water!! What a bunch of absolute amateurs 😂😂😂 to bury their hole even deeper, they even told me on my way out “we’ll serve you water next time you come”, absolute laymen! hahahahahaha If you make the mistake of going, I recommend you ask for a cup of ice instead of a glass of water and wait for it to melt! 😂😂 This ain’t a restaurant in my opinion, it’s a money grab, don’t get it twisted. They have absolutely no clue what they are doing, don’t care about their reputation and from what I saw I believe they know nothing about today’s hospitality/restaurant...

The food? I couldn’t even comment on it since I didn’t get to sit down and eat due to the rudeness of the staff. My friends and I walked in to order our food after sitting on the patio. First of all, that not how a sit down restaurant works. If they had any true experience in the service industry they would know that, speaking as a server myself. As we sat down, we were told that they would not cook our burgers more than medium. Additionally, the staff were getting yelled at in front of us which one it is very unprofessional to yell at your staff which immediately made us question our choice in restaurants. Secondly, do not treat your staff disrespectfully in front of customers. It sets a terrible precedent of how you will treat your customers. Lastly, we were ready to order our food and we were told and demanded that we were to order all together and pay on one bill and to “take care of it yourselves afterwards” in a very rude and disrespectful way. As customers, it is our choice to pay as we wish. We decided to leave the facility after the disrespect, attitude, and awful behaviour towards staff and customers.

Ps. There was a resume left on the counter for everyone to see and read with personal information. If you are just got a call to work there as a busser, I would suggest you don’t as you will get mistreated as well.

Edit: the owner who wrote back, I appreciate you taking your precious time to reply.

I would re-read before you post as you have multiple spelling mistakes and called me the wrong name. I’m sorry that I offended you by calling out your actions but as you can see here, clearly you needed to be called out. Maybe attend an anger management class. Being in the industry gives me the right to comment. Not all of us are miserable. A sit down restaurant is where you’re greeted by the host or hostess and they sit you at a particular table which was done to us. Maybe take a class on apologizing instead of being defensive and maybe your business would be more successful and have better reviews. Just a thought. Owners are supposed to care for customers and cater to their needs- especially since most of these reviews, their needs are quite low and you...
