Went here a bit ago with some buddies of mine and we had an absolute blast! We had a bit of a struggle finding the restaurant but thankfully the chef, Porshe if I remember correctly, there was very kind and lead the way! We had an amazing talk with her as well and she did an amazing job answering our barrage of questions lol. She did a great job describing the food and it all sounded absolutely mouth watering. We were considering ordering everything on the menu, however, we were only three people and all that food would've been way too much lol. And with the way she spoke about the restaurant and her job, I could see it was like her face lit up. That chef is truly someone who is passionate about her career and the food she makes and with the way she speaks I'd trust her to make anything she puts out be of the best quality. And oh boy was I right!
Now to a few points I'd like to make:
The food was somehow even better than described. The chef even joked about how she was worried she made everything sound too good but honestly, she didn't compliment the food nearly enough! Unfortunately we ate a bit before heading there so we were pretty full, but let me tell you, I would've ordered 6 burratas if my stomach could handle it! And the plating for the charceuterie was beautiful, like a nice, full garden. The shrimp sauce was also absolutely delicious!
The scenery was gorgeous, we managed to get there a bit before sunset and let me tell you, it was life changing. It does get a bit dull after sunset, but once that happened things started to pick up a bit more on the terrace itself.
The staff were pretty nice, a little slow and we had to wait for a bit for food and drinks, but we saw them running around and doing stuff so we were well aware that they were busy and weren't like in a corner on their phones. The people next to us were being a bit rude, so we just wanted to be as polite and patient as possible. Whenever our server did come to speak to us though he was so sweet and I just wanted to tell him how great of a job he was doing.
The drinks weren't half bad, the spritz you can taste the alcohol, so if you prefer something where you can't taste it I'd recommend something else but in the end it was all pretty damn delicious.
In the end, I'd say this place is an 8 or 9/10, service can be improved upon, but then again if even a tenth of their clientele is like the table next to us, then they have a lot on their hands. So I'd say good job to everyone all around, and if I ever come back to Montreal again then I'd love to buy everyone a...
Read moreI’m only giving 2 stars because of the view and the music. The view is truly this place's selling point.
However, getting up there was really difficult. We had to go a floor up and ask someone to scan their chip in the elevator to access the terrace.
I visited on a Thursday. The crowd was nice, basically the same type of people you’d expect to see at Cathcart before 7 PM (no kids).
The service was terrible. Our waitress was incompetent. We were the first to arrive, and no one bothered to take our order. I had to flag down a random employee to order drinks, which were served in plastic cups. They didn’t even get the drinks right. We ordered 3 vodka martinis—1 dirty and 2 extra dirty. We received 3 extra dirty vodka martinis but I kept the drink anyway. The waitress would have known if she was there to take our order in the first place. 1 vodka martini = 18$ Their cocktail menu is lacking options and originality.
The quantity of liquid in each drink was different, with one friend having noticeably less alcohol.
I also had to flag down a random employee to order food as our waitress disappeared again. We all shared a burrata, which was outrageously priced at $27 for a very small portion. The bread that came with the burrata was not fresh and was hard to chew. The food menu consists of 5 options, but we were told they also serve sushi from upstairs. The sushi prices are literally Jatoba prices—about $40 for 7 pieces.
If you want your establishment to be upscale, don’t serve drinks in plastic cups.
The DJ was fun and played really nice techno vibey music.
There are couches and tables, and I suggest making a reservation for easier access. You can definitely order bottles, but they’re not cheap.
Overall, my experience was mediocre, although I had fun with my friends. I would most...
Read moreConcur with a lot of the existing reviews. Went for a Thursday 5 à 7 with a 5:15 reservation (wasn’t full but busy) and got little to no service. When the server did show up, she seemed to be in a bad mood. Friends ordered a bottle of wine (which, the wine here is pretty expensive even considering the area), and she brought/poured the wrong bottle. A friend ordered one of their pitchers which was insanely overpriced given it was all ice, couldn’t taste any alcohol. When she asked the server how many ounces of alcohol were in the drink, the server wasn’t sure and started giving attitude to my friend.
The bathroom is shared with Enfants Terribles, which is also a higher price point, and was super poorly maintained over the course of the evening. By the time we left around 8pm, the bathroom was absolutely trashed with water and paper towels everywhere and no soap left which was surprising to me.
It’s a really nice space which has been really well furnished and has a wonderful view. A lot nicer use of the space than the bar that was there pre-pandemic with the Fat-Boy beanbag furniture. That being said, the menu is a very high price point (albeit similar to Cathcart), and there’s no food available (I think I saw olives and corn available as snacks but not sure what that’s like). In any event, a nice place if you’re looking for a drink after work or in the evening, just wouldn’t recommend the pitchers if you’re looking for value...
