My family and I did not have a good experience coming to this restaurant for dinner. This is our first and will be the Last Visit.
We were a table of 7 adults and one child (1 year old) to settle my nephew as we waiting for the food he was being shown a video on a phone. We understood to respect the other diners surrounding us so we ensured the volume was on the lowest setting... as in literally one tick above silent.
The front of house (not sure if he is the owner of manager) came by and told my cousin to turn the volume down.... which clearly meant silent since the volume was literally at one tick. My aunt and the rest of our table thought that was rude considering we all couldn't hear the phone over the music and the restaurant chatter. A negative tone was set because at that point forward the mother of the child felt mortified, embarrassed and completely uncomfortable along with her son.
Before leaving this review I have seen others of customers with children and they have been treated in the same manner or this incident was just a one off...
What is bothersome is that the manager or owner thinks that his behavior is acceptable. My fiance left an honest review of our experience and the response was that you felt your character attacked.... HOWEVER, due to the disrespect the table recieved my sister felt absolutely un welcomed to the point she couldn't sit down and eat her dinner. The second the food arrived we had to take it to go.
A table of 7 requests to take the food to go the second it arrives at the table... and the front of house/manager/owner (not what position he is) had ZERO to say. The customer service or complete lack there of couldn't be bothered to ask why we were leaving so abruptly. Simply because he knew exactly what was done and didn't offer an apology.
To be honest the servers and the waiter was lovely. The only downfall of the experience if the person who sat us. He made my sister feel completely out of place. When asked to put the phone on silent he pretty much was letting her know having Children at this restaurant was a huge inconvenience.
Talk about be kind.... we came out to dinner to celebrate my sister with family from Cali... and the service we recieved was not great. At all. Just like the slogan on the menu... the ast line did not exist with how were treated.
This issue with dining with kids at this restaurant seems to be a recurring thing. Some changes need to happen here because the front of house has zero awareness on how his attitude...
Read moreI am delighted to report I found one of the best Italian restaurants in Ontario. My partner found this place while we were searching for a place to eat, and we decided to give it a try as it was one of the few restaurants in the Niagara Falls with a good rating.
I was surprised as soon as I stepped inside, as the outdoor space looked more generic and nothing special. The restaurant is actually a lot bigger than it looks from the outside, and the indoor is really well decorated. I appreciated the dim lighting of the indoor space and all the paintings on the walls. The restaurant felt like an upscale, family restaurant type of vibe. In terms of the space and the seating, it's definitely big enough to host multiple big groups but it's also an ideal dining space for couples too.
I ordered a glass of vino and my partner and I ordered meatballs and sausages to share. For the main course, I ordered a mushroom risotto that was on the specials for that day. The complementary bread that was served was a good hint to the quality of the food that was about to be served. It was perfectly seasoned and was delicious with olive oil that was served with the bread. The meatballs and the homemade sausages along with the tomato sauce, were also really well seasoned and perfectly cooked; they both had good texture and the right amount of moisture inside. The portion of the meatballs and the sausages was generous, it would have been enough for three people as a starter.
I was really, really happy with the risotto. The rice had the perfect texture; it definitely had a bite to it, but it was soft to chew and just perfectly cooked. The overall creaminess of the risotto and the texture and the flavour of the mushrooms worked really well together to create a balanced, delicious meal. It is the best risotto I've ever had and I think it will be very hard to find a restaurant in Ontario that can serve up a better cooked risotto than the one I had at Napoli Ristorante.
The service was also really good and the food came at the right time. The overall dining experience was great, and the price of the food felt very reasonable given both the quality and the quantity of the food. While it is a bit out of the way from the main entertainment and the hotel areas in Niagara Falls, it is well worth walking extra couple of minutes to give this place a try. It is absolutely worth the trip if you are craving for an expertly made...
Read moreCame here Saturday with my boyfriend who has stage 4 kidney cancer. We were put in the back corner of the restaurant pretty far away from anyone else. We were excited to be out because my boyfriend is not always able to be out as a result of his illness. As I was sharing a video of us on a previous vacation the owner came over and asked me to lower the volume. It was one bar above silent...not loud at all. We would never be inconsiderate to other dinners. It was said in a cold and lecturing way and it affected one of maybe our last nights out together. Anthony should understand that you really don't know what is going on in the peoples lives that are dining at his restaurant and allow them to enjoy their experience as they want to instead of dictating what they are allowed or not allowed to do. If he wants to make it a rule to not be on your phone in the restaurant maybe put up a sign or some indication of this rule so they don't get blindsided like we did and feel uncomfortable. I had been to Napoli previously and I noted that the owner (Anthony) was a very awkward person and not very kind in his communication style but after this last interaction I can see that he's completely ignorant. He takes having customers in his restaurant for granted as the restaurant is located in a very high traffic tourist area. I am a local but I will never be back to Napoli as a result of this man and his ignorant demeanor. The food is just ok and you will pay way too much for the mediocre quality.
If you want great quality and great service here are some alternate recommendations:
Antica Pizza (just down the street) Carpaccio's Cafe Amore The Valley Restaurant Cappolla's The Blue Mermaid.
I have been to all of these restaurants and the food and service is awesome and you won't be disappointed or feel insulted like you will at Napoli and you won't be giving your money to a person who is an indecent and rude human being. All of these restaurants understand that a restaurant is both a food and a service industry and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.
If you want to understand what Anthony is like filter out the one star reviews on here and look as his responses, it will give you a really good picture for who this person is and how he will act when you're in...
