Diner beware! We dined here on 8/18/25, and will NEVER return. Let’s begin with the check in process. Arrive at least 30min before your reservation. You must first check in a front desk on the bottom floor where you will wait in line with other diners as well as people who are trying to buy tickets to ride the same elevator up to the observation deck. Do be prepared to have the people in front of you not know what package deal they want for the observation deck ride, prolonging your check in process. Once you check in, you are then asked to show the ticket provided by the front deck and wait in line for a mandatory picture. You are then ushered to another line where you will wait for one of four elevators to take you up to the restaurant. You will then be crammed into a glass elevator along with a rude elevator attendant, and begin your journey to the top. Also be prepared to have all the people not going to the restaurant get off at your stop, crowding the hostess stand and prolonging the check in process. Except the rude elevator operator to yell at them and scream that they get back on. You will then wait to check in, yet again. After you check in, you will be asked to wait again. We were finally seated in a booth, which was lovely, until we realized we were right next to the area where they throw, and I mean throw the dirty dishes and plates. It’s also where all the servers gather and chat about their tables. There was little to no view due to the tables of people in front of us as well as the servers moving back and forth. Please be prepared for a loud, busy, and frantic dining experience. Their main goal was to get you in and out and it showed. The food was mediocre at best, and for the price, was an extreme disappointment! Truly nothing special…microwave rice, boiled unseasoned broccoli to name a few. The night was topped off by the waiters sitting their trays on our booth! We asked to be re seated in one of the many booths away from the chaos and were denied. This was our last night in Niagara Falls and it was an epic fail. Please seek other restaurants. Pay for the observation deck, the views from there during sunset are very pretty, but do not waste you money, time, or sanity on dining at this restaurant. It is guaranteed to be a let down. I don’t leave reviews for anything, ever, but this restaurant was so annoyingly awful, I’m hoping this review will save others the heartache my family endured last night. We left...
Read moreMy husband and I came here after getting married on the US side of the falls. We wanted a kitschy/classic meal and thought Skylon would be the best place for that. When the reservation was made, it was mentioned that we would be celebrating our wedding. The person over the phone was very congratulatory and took the time to include it in the computer--or so we thought. When we arrived and checked in on the ground level, the person helping us asked is we were celebrating any special occasion and we told her that we had just gotten married. She did not see anything on the reservation, so again took the time and enter it/make a note. Once we got up there, however, it was never mentioned by the staff again. We weren't expecting anything in any way, shape, or form, and only mentioned it over the phone out of excitement. We wouldn't have said anything else about it had we not been prompted when checking in. It was just a little odd and humorous that after talking about it, the staff handling our meal made no effort to acknowledge it. The restaurant inside is what you would expect: sleek but a little bland, tourists being their primary demographic. That actually aligned with our expectations and was a part of the experience. The food was fine, the joke was made that you expect bland catering at a wedding and this was right in line with that. No complaints but we weren't clamoring to take our leftovers with us, either. Probably the most disappointing aspect of the experience was the service. She did her job, she was efficient, but her hospitality was about equivalent to what you'd find at a greasy spoon. People are going to come to Skylon for the view and the novelty and with a guaranteed clientele due to the amount of tourists, I'm sure someone ran the numbers and found it cheaper to offer the most uninspired food imaginable--they are not really banking on repeat diners, after all. It was not without its charms, however unintended, but despite its possibility to be a true destination, does not entirely live up to...
Read moreAmazing dining experience! Absolutely incredible views of the falls. If you visit Niagra Falls, whether on the American or Canadian side, having dinner here will definitely complete the Falls experience. We made reservations weeks in advance with the request for a window seat, which we got. I would highly recommend doing the same. The restaurant is huge and was very busy, even on a Thursday evening in early April. Even so, once we got out of the elevator, we were seated pretty quickly, and almost immediately, our waitress greeted us, explained the menu, and took our drink orders. We got our drinks pretty quickly, even with half of them coming from the bar (a martini and an old fashioned). When she delivered our drinks, she took our food order. The food came out relatively quickly, less than 10-15 minutes, considering how busy the place was. The food was great. All four of us in our party were very satisfied. Good sized portions, perfectly cooked, tasty, and hot. I absolutely loved my steak. One teen son got a steak and it was gone in no time, so I assume he liked it too. The other teen son got the veal steak and wiped that out quickly as well, said it made him love veal and want it more often. My wife got the Chilean sea bass and said it was one of the best she's ever had. My wife and I also got a glass of wine with our main courses, and all four of us got desserts after dinner, too. Their creme brule is excellent! Now, granted, you will pay a lot for the view and dining experience. This was one of the more expensive dinners, but since it was a family vacation and our anniversary, it was so worth it. The wait staff is absolutely incredible - prompt, knowledgeable, courteous, and on-point. The facilities are immaculate. Despite it being very busy and a bit on the loud side, the atmosphere is one that could support a variety of occasions - romantic, family, or business. If you're in the falls area, you owe it to yourself to go here....
