UPDATE: I have changed the star to 1 because now they have charged my credit card for more than they were suppose to. They also charged my moms credit card for a mysterious fee we have no idea where it came from. Don't even know why they would charge two different credit cards. All trust and integrity for this hotel is out the window. Do not stay here. Non stop headaches.
I was not a fan of this Best Western. They have some dodgy ways of ripping you off. First they put us in the wrong room. We bought 2 queen with tower view a deluxe size room which is in the updated section. As soon as I walked through the hall I knew we were not given the right room. When we walked in the room was musty and had very dated and stained furniture. When I called to tell them I was sure this was not the room I purchase they told me that I did not buy the room I think I did and was very blunt about it. She said she would get a manager to call me. When the manager called she said yes it was not the room I bought but there were not more of those rooms available. Typical. So they obviously knew very well which room I had bought but oversold them and I was the schmuck they tried to put in an older room and hope I didn't notice. They ended up switching me to an updated room but instead of the tower view we were on the first floor with a view of the back parking lot. Which they call their "sunset view" I had paid $30 extra for the tower view. Which makes it about $15/night extra I paid to have that room. The manager said we will give you a discount of $10 as a guest experience discount. Umm... You mean a refund because I am not in the room I am suppose to be in?. She tried to pull it off as though she was doing us a favour but what she was doing was giving us the money she owed us (may be even less) under the name of a discount. The next day we moved into another room, this time the right one. At check out I asked for a printed receipt and surprise surprise they do not put a grand total on the receipt. Another way to confuse you into paying more. I had to ask specially for them to write the grand total on the receipt. We realized there was a $12 TIF tax which is voluntary so we took that off. They will try to take advantage of you here. Always check your in the right room, always get the receipt and have them write down the total, take off theTIF tax, and don't eat at ihop unless you want to spend $45 on a very regular breakfast for 2. That includes the $15 discount the hotel gives you. I gave it 2 stars for being close to the falls and the casino. Location... Thats all they have...
Read moreEvery 3 months or so we visit Niagara falls as weekend getaway. We usually find a good deal online for a hotel and try to pick a different hotel each time. This time around we picked Best Western Fallsview. We did get a decent deal on a 2 queen room but when booking this I had written in the notes that I wouldn't mind paying extra to upgrade my room to a king or something better than a 2 queen (the wagjag I bought was for a 2 queen which is why I couldn't book a king room in the first place) upon arriving for check-in I was being helped by a gentleman named Brandon. I asked about upgrading only to be told that all rooms that would be upgraded from my room are sold out. This would be fine because no one can control the fact that they sold out their rooms except for the fact that the person standing next to us being checked in by a different staff member asked for a room upgrade from his king room to a deluxe king and got jt. Even though I had asked for the upgrade before this gentleman arrived to the counter to check in. Now this was annoying but I thought, well this guy just gave up his king bed for a deluxe king which means his old room is up for grabs. I once again asked the person helping me if he can look again for a room uograde ad the man next to us just upgraded his room and left his king room. The gentleman helping me went to the back for a minute and returned to say no. "It just got booked." So let me get this straight, between the 3 maybe 4 minutes this room was made available, at 4:45pm, it got taken? I'm not sure how hotels work but from a customer standpoint, I'm not impressed. Check-in was easy enough and I appreciated the $10 parking fee for being a Best Western member. (Otherwise its $15) The room was in the ground floor which I didn't like because when checking in, the staff member made it sound like we had a decent room on an upper floor because of a conversation I had with him about the upgrading a room. So not imoressed here either as the traffic around here was much louder than normal. The beds were comfortable and the washroom was decent. The lack of a fridge was irritating and surprising because other hotels in the area have one at the very least. Overall I have to say the customer service aspect here was the worst I've had in any of the 8+ different hotels I've stayed at in Niagara and am disappointed to say that I won't be going back to any Best Western chain in the future. Especially not in...
Read moreThis is the WORST hotel in Niagara Falls. The pictures are misleading! The hotel is dirty, bugs in the rooms along with mold!!!! I booked this hotel online for a family trip based on the Best Western Brand Name and this was a BIG Mistake!!!! The outside property is less than desirable NOTHING like the photos online. I was told I would have a courtyard view. There isn't a courtyard we had a view of the street. We checked in and within 10 minutes we were checking back out. Dead bugs along the baseline of our room, mold was on the walls of our rooms, the sliding door leading to the fake courtyard view was grimy and dirty. The balcony was unsafe! Not to mention the foul odor not only in the hallway but also in our room from the lack of maintenance of the flooring. There was no way my family was staying in this hotel. Let me add I was told the 5th floor was a updated renovated room. Guessing the bugs and mold was the addition. The worst part I had to scramble and find another hotel on Labor day weekend suitable for my family only to be told and I am still fighting with Best Western to refund me my entire charge to my card. We stayed on their property a total of 10 minutes and they are telling me their policy is to charge me because I didn't cancel 72 hours before my stay. I ask how were we to know this hotel was so nasty? How is this fair? My family trip was delayed over 3 hours trying to find another place to stay because the their failure to properly clean and sanitize their rooms. Would you want to sleep with bugs, mold, and odors?
DO NOT STAY at this hotel!!!!!!
The manager would not assist with my concerns not to mention the General Manager has failed to respond to my concern. I want to be reimbursed what I was charged! In good faith when calling the hotel direct I was told I would have a courtyard view and was assured I would be satisfied with the room and stay. I am not satisfied with bugs mold and odor. No one should have to pay for a room that their family couldn't stay in. You want to uphold a cancellation policy, how about Best Western adhering to the policies of safety and hotel guidelines for cleanliness. I want to be reimbursed!!!! I wished I would have read all of the reviews prior to booking. From reading all of the reviews it is evident the owner knows there is a problem with the property all I am asking is for you to...
