On Saturday February 17th my partner and I went to Yuk Yuks Niagara to see The Danger Cats at 10:00 pm. We love Yuk Yuk’s, but the service we received was just short of insulting. We did not get served a drink or acknowledged until the second act. Which was half way through the show. Our server was a younger gentleman with curly hair, shaved side of his head and glasses. We were seated in the middle of the room. Here is the timeline of events. Sat down at 9:40 Everyone around us was being served Alerted one waitress after 25 minutes and she said “this is not my section but ill tell him” Still nothing After 15 minutes my girlfriend got up and spoke to the actual server for our section he said “I am just doing my rounds, I will come around” (in the mean time he served multiple people around us, multiple times) Once the second act started my girlfriend again got up and went to the entrance door and spoke to another server wearing some sports jacket. He informed her he would flag down our server 15 minutes into the second act my girlfriend got up again and asked to speak to the manager. A blond haired man with glasses spoke to her and said “ill get him over” The server ended coming over at the start of the final act to get us two drinks.
We don’t usually complain about service, trust me, we understand. My girlfriend is a server so she is empathetic to these situations. This situation was ridiculous, especially after spending $70 for the tickets. We were going to order alcoholic drinks and food, but only ended up getting soft drinks as the show was almost over. We are incredibly disappointed with how the night ended, especially my partner as she missed a large portion of the show trying to...
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW* I was able to return last Saturday night despite my original experience described below. I had to update my review as well because the experience was outstanding.
Both comedians and the MC were absolutely wonderful. The service was on point, management was very personable and the atmosphere was everything you could want from a comedy club!
I'm so glad my original experience was an apparent one off and I look forward to making this club a regular occurrence!
ORIGINAL REVIEW* We decided to try this for a couples night out and it was great! The first two comedians were obviously just getting started in comedy but did a decent job and the headliner knocked it out of the park. I was dying laughing.
The only negatives I had was the service was good but very sporadic. They took our order at the beginning and then one more time at last call. We didn't see the waitress in between at all.
Finally the biggest disappointment of the night was the MC a lady from Toronto. During the show there were plenty of offensive jokes and political commentary which to me is essential to a good routine. However on our way out at the end of the night after thanking the comedians the MC felt it necessary to make a very derogatory comment to me directly in regards to politics that had nothing to do with comedy or humor. My whole party was shocked at the behavior.
Needless to say it ruined an otherwise really fun night and I left pretty upset and not wanting to return again.
It's a shame because up until that point I was looking forward to...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I went to yuk yuk in Niagara Falls last night and it was painfully terrible.
Well, the actual place is located in the basement of the fun zone and it’s a nice theatre nice and clean, clean staff excellent wait staff, and while the servers were friendly, the comedians left much to be desired.
There’s three comedians; two starters and then the main Headliner. Each one was worse than the last. the headliner literally made fun of one guy the entire night. I don’t think she even had a set Of her own material. Then there is the butcher who works at Metro, who is telling the most ridiculous stories at the most ridiculous speeds. And then at the beginning, there’s a man who is doing impressions, And the only impression he was being able to do was of Italians.
to the credit of the two starters, they tried their hardest and it’s not their main job. But we really expected a lot more from the headliner whose job this is, and who apparently has a residency in Niagara Falls. Not worth the price of the tickets.
honestly, the best thing about the evening...
