This was the most disappointing restaurant I have ever been to. I actually just left the restaurant and stopped to write this because I am so mad. I ordered the ribs, which are usually my pub fave! When the ribs came, the root beer sauce smelled awful, even the table beside us asked if the ribs had gone bad or something. After tasting the sauce I couldn't eat another bite of the meal, it was absolutely disgusting. Everyone else at my table also tried the sauce, and agreed that the sauce was horrendous. It tasted like a candy root beer sauce that had gone bad. I could not believe that $18.99 ribs could be this awful. My sister who had also tried the sauce then told our waitress how horrible it was, and she took the plate away. I was not offered another meal. Then at the end, when I would have expected some good customer service, I was told there was nothing wrong with the ribs, so the could only give me a 20% discount. I'm sorry, but isn't it the restaurants job to ensure that their customer is happy with their food? It is one thing if someone doesn't like something, but they are the only ones. But for my whole table to agree that they were disgusting, and have the table beside me ask if my ribs had gone bad, clearly demonstrates that there was something wrong with the ribs. On top of that we saw four of our friends coming in to eat (while we were still eating) and we encouraged them to leave because the food was so bad. I am very disappointed. As a student in this city, I love being able to support local places like this, but I felt my concern was not handled appropriately, and would not recommend this place to anyone. Sorry for the rant, I don't normally do this, I just feel this experience needs to be voiced so that other people don't have to go through the same...

I usually do not comment or make reviews but this was an awful experience. This is not a place for anyone who is not a redneck white male. We watched as a worker with blonde short karen cut hair (i believe is the manager) denied a family service while the restaurant had many tables available and they didn’t provide any solutions or put them on a waiting list. The way this family was treated was horrifying and the worker spoke to them how no one should ever be spoken to. This family was the only family to come in and have an accent. They were meeting people who were already seated and after denying them, no worker or manager came to speak with the people already seated or offer any kind of resolution. I could not enjoy my food after watching such an event and it honestly ruined the whole experience for me and my family. I have read similar reviews of the manager or owner and service in general being terrible, if you want to stay in business I suggest having better...

Really happy with this place. I've stopped in for a drink many times, but never really had a meal there or even spent a great deal of time until recently. A close friend of mine swears by their food and got me to come out to try it. Was not disappointed. The food here stands up against the food of many other, more expensive restaurants in the area. The atmosphere inside is also awesome, up-to-date but still maintaining that traditional feeling of history that Kingston is so well-known for. Staff were friendly and more than happy to help you pick one of their many beer to suit your tastes. (I personally enjoyed a nice, cold Smithwicks with my meal) Highly recommend to any looking for a taste of Kingston. I will be joining my friend in making the Duke a staple for...

We found this place online as we were staying at a motel a few blocks away and popped in for lunch. Glad we did. Great vibe inside with lots of locals having a good time and the servers were sweet and very efficient. Lots of local beers on tap and the food was good as well. We had somewhere to be the rest of the afternoon, but we made reservations to come back for dinner and they saved the little "snug" area for us. Much appreciated. We definitely recommend going, but maybe make a reservation if you can as it was pretty busy there for both of our visits. There is a paid parking lot directly across the street. Just use it. It's a few bucks for the peace of mind and you won't waste any time looking around the streets for open spots.

My favourite pub in Kingston and I'm here at least a couple of times a month. The friendliest staff, shoutout to Jeff the bartender who always remembers your name and your usual drink. I don't believe I've ever been disappointed by a meal here - be it a regular or new menu item, or a special. Their poutine is excellent. Many refer to their wings as the best in Kingston and it's hard to disagree. I really enjoy their burger - it's just the basics but for a burger like that it's all about the beef, and theirs is always excellent. Great beer selection. Even when busy you should be able to find a seat here. Highly recommended.

We found it on the internet and went there for a dinner. The environment is interesting and pub-like, a bit dark but cozy. The staff were friendly. We ordered battered mushrooms as the appetizer and it was just ok. Nothing super amazing, but acceptable and ok. For the main meal, we asked them to change an ingredient on the burger, and they didn't do it but it was ok with us. We tried the Duke burger, and OMG! It was DELICIOUS! I am a big food enthusiast and have tried many burgers. This one was one of my all time favorite: juicy, perfectly cooked, amazingly seasoned and truly mouthwatering. I definitely recommend it.
