We have visited this restaurant twice in a short span because the food was just that good and each visit was a culinary delight.
On our first visit, we tried the dosa and idly both perfectly made, with flavors that instantly transported us to South India. The jackfruit biryani was a surprising standout, aromatic, rich, and unique. I had to reconfirm if it was inderd vegetarian biryani. On our return visit, we explored more of the menu and were blown away again. The chicken ghee 65 biryani was bold and satisfying, the chicken chukka pulav packed a punch, and the Chettinad chicken curry was incredibly flavorful. The parota was flaky and soft, went crazy over paneer curry leaves, which had unbelievable delicious twist.
We ended our meals on a sweet note with carrot halwa and elaneer payasam both desserts were fresh, comforting, and beautifully made.
We spoke to the owners, who were genuinely keen on getting feedback from their customers. They were incredibly warm and took the time to help us choose what to eat. We were so impressed by the food that we had to speak to the chef personally to express how delighted we were to finally find such an authentic South Indian restaurnt in oshawa.
Highly recommend for anyone craving real, unforgettable South Indian food. We will definitely...
Read moreIf you’re a fan of bold South Indian flavors and perfectly spiced biryanis, Dosa and Biryani House is a must-visit. I recently tried their Zeeraga Samba Chicken and Mutton Biryani, along with the Nalli Biryani, and all three were absolutely delicious. The aroma of the Zeeraga samba rice, combined with tender, well-marinated meat, makes these biryanis stand out from the typical versions you find elsewhere.
A special mention for the Nalli Biryani – the piece of meat (Nalli) is massive and definitely enough to share between 2 to 3 people. It’s fall-off-the-bone tender and beautifully infused with the spices.
For appetizers, don’t miss the Chicken 65 and Chilli Chicken — crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The Mutton Chukka was a spicy delight, with tender chunks of meat in a dry roast style, and the Nethili Fry was perfectly crisped with just the right amount of seasoning.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the food was served hot and fresh. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, the quality is consistent. Highly recommended for anyone who craves authentic South Indian-style biryani and non-veg...
Read moreWe recently ordered takeout from Dosa and Biryani House, trying a few of their popular dishes, Hyderabadi Boneless Chicken Biryani, Mutton Dum Biryani, and Chicken 65. The overall taste was good, the food was fresh, flavorful, and nicely packed, but I would say it doesn’t quite capture the authentic Hyderabadi flavor that the name of the dish suggests.
The Hyderabadi Boneless Chicken Biryani had a pleasant aroma and decent spice balance, though it lacked that rich, layered dum taste you expect from true Hyderabadi biryani. The Mutton Dum Biryani was good in quantity and the mutton was tender, but again, the signature Hyderabad style essence was missing. The Chicken 65 was crispy and enjoyable, with a nice tang and spice kick, it leaned more toward a flavor away from the Hyderabadi version, still worth a try.
Overall, Dosa and Biryani House offers tasty food and decent portions, and the service was prompt while the ambience is decent. However, for those looking specifically for authentic Hyderabadi biryani, the taste may fall a bit short. Still, it’s a good spot for flavorful...
