This establishment is known as Breakfast Bistro by day and Luna’s Kitchen by night. After being heavily suggested, I finally got to try both. However, this post will focus on Breakfast Bistro. I ordered a Fried Chicken + Avocado Smash Benedict and upgraded to Greek Potatoes. For a drink, I got a Mango Mimosa. Prices were $26, $3 and $10 respectively. This was before taxes and tip. I was impressed by the atmosphere, look of the restaurant and quality of the food. The meal was decent, however I don’t think it was worth the expensive price. My drink barely tasted of mango and tasted only of alcohol. I drank less than half of my small glass. No, this was not worth $10 before tax or tip. My meal was GOOD, however I don’t think it was worth $29 before taxes and before tip. I was however happy that I got poached medium eggs when asked. I would like to return because I believe their menu has a lot of variety and the waffles are pretty delicious. I might not order the friend chicken + avocado smash again, but there is a lot more to explore here.

First time here today and overall a wonderful experience. Had the Lobster Benedict and the sauce was SO good. Flavourful with just the right amount of kick, and the lobster pieces were bouncy and juicy. Upgraded the side to Greek roast potatoes and they were crispy and packed with flavour as well. There was an issue with the my mother’s Shakshuka but they were happy to rectify it no questions asked, at no extra charge. The croissant that came with it was fresh, crispy and buttery however. Servers were friendly and checked in on us several times. We will definitely be back to try more items! Only constructive comments would be, for $32 the arugula on the Benedict could have been whole pieces (not chopped) and lightly dressed for better presentation and more contrast in texture. Also a small side (even just 2-3 pieces) of fruit would be a nice complement to cut through the salt/oil. The coffee was very weak considering it was only 930 when we came in. Lastly service was friendly but also chaotic, more experience/training is needed.

We recently had breakfast with friends there and were really impressed with all. I had a classic eggs Benedict with bacon. I thought it was for $20 but the bill said $25 (oh well!). It was so tasty and very filling. I tried my husband’s skillet; and I’d like to go back to get my own. He couldn’t finish it all so I had his leftovers the next day 😋. One of our friends is an Italian foodie and he was quite happy with his Belgian waffles 🧇. Deena, the owner, came to have a chat with us. She’s an enchanting lady. All the staff was friendly, helpful, intuitive. We didn’t have to ask for nothing, it’s like they read our minds. Good people, good ambience, and great food.

Myself and some friends came for brunch back in December. I was excited as I had heard they make the best eggs benny in the city. Upon arriving, we told the senior lady who was hosting (who I’m assuming is the owners mother, as I know it’s a family owned restaurant) that our friends were already seated. She told us to go ahead and go on in. Now, when walking in, to the right is the kitchen, and the left is the dining room. I took a step to the right to let my fiancé walk ahead of me, as he knew where our friends were sitting. This lady proceeds to YELL at me not to go into the kitchen, in-front of EVERYONE. I stated that I wasn’t, I was only letting my partner walk ahead of me.

Then we sit down, and order our food. I ordered the arugula and prosciutto eggs benny with Greek potatoes. And if I’m being honest, i make better eggs benny at home with a knorr sauce packet. The amount of hollandaise sauce you get is pathetic. Hardly covered my eggs, didn’t even run down the sides. You get more hollandaise at Denny’s. And the Greek breakfast potatoes were hardly cooked. Still very hard on the inside.

Then the senior woman who decided it was appropriate to yell at me when we arrived, came to our table. To apologize? No. To make the most awkward encounter of my life. She didn’t apologize, she just reiterated that she saw me walking into the kitchen and wanted to stop me. To which I said “ya well I wasn’t. And I explained that to you”. So she not only made this an extremely awkward encounter in front of my friends in the middle of our brunch, but she didn’t even apologize! And from reading other reviews on this place, it seems like she is a major problem.

The cherry on top of the whole experience was when our waitress came up to us at 1hr and 35 minutes into our brunch, and told us that they have a time limit and that we needed to wrap things up. And yet, the sign at the front says 2 hour max seating period. We were done eating at this point but if there was any thought of ordering more drinks or food, that just went out the window. There was a line of people waiting to come in to eat but that shouldn’t be our problem. When I think of going out to a nice restaurant to eat, I assume I’ll be in the restaurant for 2ish hours.

I debated on writing this for awhile, but whenever I drive by the place, I think about how that lady embarrassed me. So I won’t be returning.

Also, the iced coffee is...

We walked in, really wanting to like this place. It has been recently moved to a new location, and the atmosphere its self is so nice! I am commenting on my experience, and other than the restaurant its self, everything else was way below par.

First of all, the service from my waitress was absolutely terrible, she did not want to be there, I couldn’t even get her to crack a smile. She had no interest in helping us, no interest in bring us coffee, or checking on our order, she did everything in her power to stay away from us. I have been a server, and I understand bad days, but this was unacceptable. I think the most uncomfortable part about it all, is a table got placed in the same section as ours, and before us, and not one server went to them, asked them how they were doing and or asked for their drink order. I had already placed my order, and they still didn’t have waters, it was between half hour – 45 minutes by the time someone even helped them, it was so stressful to witness, and if it was me, I would of left. The food, was simply not that great, potatoes were all under cooked, and the hollandaise sauce was completely tasteless, not only that but I also knew a few other people eating there that day, and not one person had a good experience. Every single person I talked to afterword’s said their food was terrible and inedible, service again terrible, especially when they tried to talk to management about their experience, they got nothing but the run around treatment, and simply pushed out the door.

I will not be going back any time soon and maybe never. I will not be recommending this place, there are simply to many other really good restaurants in the city. For now, just don’t waste your time, they need a lot of time to fix a lot of their issues.

If you are going to only server breakfast, it...

Honestly the food here is usually really good so I feel weird giving a bad review. The bacon is super hit and miss but the rest is always good. They fall severely short on service and have a lot. The last time we were there, we were seated within 10 minutes then it took about 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. Then forever for drinks... my mom's iced coffee took over 40 minutes to come. We had noticed everyone around us was getting food when they got there way later than us. I asked where our food was. We didn't even get a response. Our server never came to check on drinks... nothing. I had to go track down the owner... we were there for over 90 minutes before we got food... by the time we left, we were there for 2 hours outside and burnt as we said yes to thr patio not expecting to be there for 2 hours. Luckily my toddler is very good in restaurants. The only thing they offered was our drinks free which I find offensive when their menu is expensive and service was awful. This level of service unfortunately has been fairly normal. We often have to track servers down for food we ordered, to refill drinks or even get cutlery. The music is also way too loud so it's hard to talk with your table. They always charge us $3 or $4 when I ask for no bun because it's gluten free... well I'm not taking a GF bun so there shouldn't be an extra charge. We used to go here every 1-2 weeks because the food is great but we haven't been back in about a month and likely won't go back now as the crap service for this price has won...
