Came into the rest after hrs and hrs of driving. It seemed like it had been days, maybe it had been. It had been sunny and rainy, snowy and dark so many times that I could no longer keep track of it. Battled our way through Manitoba, nothing seemed to work. Finally after hrs and hrs of hay fields and flatness, so much flatness. We were able to find a place to eat in Saskatoon. It was this place. When you have the munchies on strong, and are in need of a quick Chinese food thrashing. I strongly recommend this place. However, I did notice one thing. Their chicken balls, seemed to be rather, square. Or just chunks of chicken battered then cut into two pieces. However that did not detour me, I ate every last bite of them. They are plentiful and are tasty, and the sweet and sour sauce soaks into your tongue and remains with your taste buds for an hour or so after the meal. I also was so blessed that I was able to try the high five pad thai. Now I know the high five is not listed there hahahahah. It's just pad thai. If your are a light eater. I would suggest if you are getting the pad thai, to maybe split it with a friend or maybe even a random person on your social network. Or the street if you are real brave these days. Gosh when I get talking I just can't seem to stop. But guys serious, I hope this helps you decide where you are going to eat tonight. If you left with out your Chinese food. You might need to run back...
Read moreMaybe it is just me - but I feel the Asian food scene in Saskatoon is on a sharp decline and nowhere is that more obvious than Red Pepper. I went there last in early 2020 and it was probably about a 4 star then. Yesterday I went back for what was one of my top 10 worst restaurant meals of all times.
The food was cold and bland, the service slow, the waiter got the order completely wrong and the tea was at best tepid.
What was supposed to have been a Szechuan spicy noodle pork and tofu dish came out without noodles, blander than baby food, and with some unrecognizable mixture of lumps of Tofu and ground pork. I doubt even my dog would eat this.
The ginger beef fared only slightly better with a grand total of 2 pieces of ginger allocated to the entire dish. I think the cook forgot to wave the ginger over the dish a third time before serving it.
This place is a "has been" and you will do yourself a favour by...
Read moreUsually love this place and their food, had the worst costumer service experience ever and extremely disappointed in them. We received our food from the delivery driver (who was on a motor bike with a small backpack) and our food was totally squished, which he noticed and told us to call the restaurant and let them know. The sauce from the dinners was spilled everywhere mixing in with all the dishes, our rice was spilled all over the bag and wonton soup completed spilled out of the container in the bag. Called them with this and nicely tried to explain the matter when the lady came on the phone and was extremely rude (pretty much blaming us for this) and offered $20 back when we paid $100 worth of food and said how she’s loosing out on money yet we ordered a dinner that was hardly edible. Extremely disappointed in the customer service and as regular customers I doubt we...
