Last night me my family went for dinner to this place to celebrate my husbandâs birthday but it was very bad experience for all of us. Firstly, when we entered at 8:15 PM the girl at reception gave us very rude look it was like she donât want us to sit but the restaurant closing time was 9 PM. If she donât want customers to sit after 8 she can say customer clearly that they closed the dine in why to waste customers time, mood and money. After that she told us to join the 2 tables and sit which was really weird for us moreover she didnât gave us menus after waiting for 5 minutes we asked her for the menus. However we gave the order for the falafel platter and the large platter in which i clearly mentioned 3 times that we donât eat beef so please give us chicken kababs instead beef, she agreed and gave us 20 minutes waiting for the food. But the food was served to us after 45 minutes.
Now coming to food they disappoint us here also firstly she served us spring rolls without any sauce so we requested her to give some sauce and then our platter was served with beef kabab which i clearly mentioned that we donât eat beef however they changed it to chicken kabab which was too salty. Secondly, in the menu they mentioned platter comes with the tandoori chicken but they gave is fried chicken which was to oily also one bread was missing from it Also the taste was ok for rest of the dishes the only thing we liked was falafel platter. We spent almost $100 but still they ruined my husbandâs birthday dinner by their rude customer service and food. Never go back to this...
Read moreI've only tried donairs at this place so that's all I can comment on. The donairs were cheaper than most other places and are filling (ie size wise they're pretty big, around the size of a footlong sub). However taste wise they're OK. Nothing too special. The taste can taste bland to some people, especially those that are used to spicy food. Conclusion: big sized, filling, cheap price, average taste. By average I mean they taste good but not excellent super duper yummy. Another issue, the donair doesn't have variety in their toppings. It's just meat, lettuce,.tomatoes and some kind of sauce. Other places will have a much more broad spectrum of toppings,.like bell papers, olives, cheese etc etc. Also this place only offers lamb and beef, whereas most other places in Saskatoon will also have chicken donairs. The bread they use is also different,.the tortilla kind not the more conventional one that most other places will use.
Also, even though the address says that this place is located on 2nd Avenue, it actually is on 22nd Street. It's at the corner of 2nd Avenue and 22nd Street (neighboring starbucks).

The restaurant forget my order of naan and my rice containers were half empty. (It looked like they split 1 order into two containers, but to be very honest with you, the amount of rice that was in there, I wouldnât even call it one full order.)
I contacted the restaurant and complained and asked to be refunded for my forgotten order of naan and half-full Kabuli rice, to which they complied but I had to spent more time and $$ having to go back to get my refund.
Kababs were tasty BUT falafel tasted stale and rice was very dry.
Also, portion sizes are waaay too small. The falafel were tiny, like bite-sized pieces. Rice was no where near enough even for 1 full container. 1 tbsp of salad (literal crumbs) underneath the kababs. No raita/yogurt on the side either (I know it doesnât come with it but come on) Sooo stingy.
Itâs hard to support local, when the locals rob you. For someone who spent 70 plus dollars, I refuse to return. Please...
