1st visit: Came to this Aroma for a snack with some colleagues. I had an Alfajores ("Velvety dulce de leche sandwiched between two crumbly shortbread cookies and lightly dusted with shredded coconut"). It's like a South American pastry. It tasted OK, very dry though (I like savoury foods more).
Separate occasion: Also took a biscotti, dipped it into my coffee with 2 milks, quick dip in and out. Delicious.
3rd visit: Came here with my team colleagues.
I had a small mint tea (mint leaves in hot water, no actual tea so no caffeine content). I had it straight, to try it out, but if I had to get this again, I’d mix in some iced lemon water and some honey (the hot water brings out the mint flavours, then I still want to have the drink cool and sweet, like a virgin mojito). Otherwise the coolness of the mint and the heat of the hot water clashes for me.
In the future, I would want to try these pastries: spanakopita (phyllo pastry with spinach, feta, and ricotta cheese), cheese danish, apple danish, fillo cheese. Lunch: shakshuka. And these drinks: Iced lemon mint.
4th visit: Came here with team colleagues. I had the Iced Hazelnut - tasted great. Nice hazelnut + cocoa flavours....
Read moreAroma Expresso bar on 88 Queens Quay is a wonderful experience due to the manager Felix and his staff member Lillian. We arrived at this destination when it was high noon. The tables outside were well spaced but in the hot sun. There we’re large lovely umbrellas so we decided to move it closer to our table. Within seconds Felix was there moving our umbrella so we were out of the sun. However, sun’s move and before I finished my thought to get another umbrella Felix was already moving the 2nd umbrella putting us into shade! When ordering the waitress Lillian was kind and very patient. I am strictly Vegan with food allergies.. No matter how many questions I put forth Lillian answered every one. We felt so welcome by this staff and just so thankful to Lillian who told me all ingredients in so many options I inquired about.. we had a wonderful time - their Vegan options accommodated my strict allergy requirements..
A wonderful lazy lunch over coffee and great food along with exceptional service! Thank you so much to...
Read moreAbsolute worst experience at this location. The service is horrendous. A friend and I went to Aroma on our lunch break on a Wednesday and we ordered our meal at 12:15 (salad, sandwich and soup). We expected there to be a bit of a delay given the popularity of the location but we did not expect it to take 40 minutes for our meals to be ready. My meal came first after 40 minutes but my colleague's meal for some reason that was never explained to us was pushed down the line and didn't show up until 1:00. There were only 4 employees working from what we could see (2 at the register and 2 in the kitchen). One of the employees even took a short break in between the rush to sit in the cafe. There also didn't appear to be a manager in the cafe at the time during what is likely the busiest time of day. I will never go back here for...
