Yesterday we walked in and were told to pick a table, we sat and waited about 5 mins before being asked what we wanted to drink (not busy either, we were the 4th table in the whole place) we scanned the qr code to look at the menu, when she dropped off our drinks one of the beers was basically flat and she left without asking any questions about food, just over 10 mins later we finally got her attention to ask for food (at this point we were questioning if the kitchen was open because nobody else had food on their table) when we asked if the kitchen was open we got “yep” and nothing else so we asked to order and she sounded like she didnt even know the menu, we asked what came with the chicken sandwich and she said “maybe a little bit of chips”. So just incase we ordered a side of fries. The food is very good, the food and dj working redeemed the experience. The guy who dropped off our food couldn’t have gotten away faster, just made sure the plates were right and basically ran off, we didnt get napkins, utensils, nothing at all and didnt get asked if we needed anything. But i watched her just stand behind the bar for the majority of the time sipping on a drink and texting, we had to try and get eye contact to ask her over to get some ketchup and order another beer. We then watched a couple seat themselves at a table like we had done and for some reason they left? She pointed to a reserved sign and they apologized but there were plenty other tables they could’ve taken so that was just confusing in general. Only reason i didnt rate a 1 star is because the food tasted good and the dj played good music. If it wasn’t for that i would rate 0 if i could. Just wanna restate, there were FOUR TABLES...

Visited here for NYE last night with my friend. I had a reservation and when we arrived we were sat at a corner table (near Pool Table) I asked the server to relocate us to less busier spot but server said all tables are reserved. My friend was kind enough to get up and down her seat everytime the guys wanted to hit the pool ball from a certain angle that My friend was in the way off. We indulged this behaviour for 30 mins before we decided that this is extremely frustrating and inconvenient as we just wanted to enjoy our food in peace without being bothered. Some random girl asked us to move somewhere else cause she couldn’t hit her balls correctly(the audacity ! ) we politely declined but didn’t wanna cause a scene so we eventually ended up moving as one of the guys said that there is an extra table at the back that we can use. The server then comes and says YES You can move there. (like as soon as we got here we asked to move and she said there were no tables and now suddenly she was okay with us moving) Let’s talk about food : I asked for mayo or chipotle just for my side of fries and server thought Buffalo Sauce was the closest match to my request. sigh

( I had to ask twice for mayo and i finally got it)

Overall not a very good experience,...

I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for years, and I can honestly say the hostess here gave the worst welcome I’ve ever experienced. She was extremely rude from the moment we arrived. We had a reservation at Dublin Calling, but were unexpectedly told we’d be seated upstairs at Rock ’n Horse. When we tried to ask questions about the change, she repeatedly cut me off mid-sentence.

When my friend politely asked if we could move to a table with a better view of the TV for the Jays game, she actually said, “The answer is no, don’t ask me anything again.” I was shocked. We ended up speaking with the manager, who was incredibly kind and accommodating, he immediately said we could move and even sent over a round of drinks to make up for the situation.

Unfortunately, the hostess then came back to our table upset that we’d spoken to him, which made things even more uncomfortable. The manager was the only saving grace of the night, and the reason we didn’t just leave.

Overall, if you’re planning to go here for a big game night, double-check your reservation and make sure you’re not suddenly sent upstairs. The service at the door completely ruined what could have been a...

So I consider myself a bit of a foodie, and despite this, my #1 favourite food is honey garlic chicken wings. I have had them at almost every restaurant and pub in Toronto that serves them and, in a surprise turn of events for this fairly underwhelming, unoriginal, basic AF, sticky-floor pub--Dublin Calling serves probably the best honey garlic wings in the city. Einsteins, duffs, aft, real sports, no... this place. Trust me. And they are consistently good (sauce:breading:meat ratio, sticky thick sauce-- perfection). Fried pickles are also good (just the right amount of crunch to the fried coating to offset the pickle crunch!) and the Guinness is a great pour (right temperature, fresh, yum). As for this place as an actual destination? No. In a city as dynamic and ever-changing as Toronto, with so many great, unique spots--you can definitely find more intimate pubs, more lively sports bars and more interesting "lets get drunk who cares" hangout spots than this. Go for the wings and a Guinness (you will not be disappointed)--then move elsewhere for your fun.

The service was okay—no complaints there, especially given it was Game 6 of a Leafs series, so we weren’t too fussed. What threw me off was the bill. My food was around $27, but with tip, the total came to over $50. The difference? I was charged four times for refills on a very small Diet Coke—less than 200mL by the looks of it - at $3.50 each. I’ve attached a photo of the cup for reference. Thankfully, the Leafs won, which helped ease the sting a bit….but not quite enough to stop me from leaving this review.

Went for a few drinks and some food to eat with a group of friends. The service was good but I think our server could have checked on the table a bit more often. As for the food, we ordered a mixed platter with, chips, wings, deep fried pickles, lattice fries, and Shepard pie balls. All the food in the platter was good, came with a few different sauces to dip as well. We liked the wings so we ordered more on the side. Overall good time and will probably go back in the future.
