I recently visited Lunchbox for breakfast, and I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience. After working out I was really craving somegood breakfast, I decided to try this place for the first time, and it left me feeling completely scammed.

I ordered a beef sandwich and a breakfast plate with scrambled eggs, bacon, and home-style potatoes. The beef sandwich was a disaster—completely cold, unseasoned, and tasted like packaged meat thrown on bread with zero effort. The bread itself was tiny and lacked any sauce or flavor. For a $30 total bill, I expected something much better, at the very least fresh and cooked properly.

The breakfast plate wasn’t any better. The scrambled eggs were bland, with no salt or pepper, and the bacon tasted burnt and stale, as though it had been sitting out all morning. The potatoes were equally disappointing—dry, bland, and slightly burnt, with no seasoning at all. Even the buttered bread felt neglected, with barely any butter on it.

Ordered through Uber eats and will not be doing so again. Overall this place seems pretentious and overpriced. Avocado toast is a basic sandwich. Could easily throw together the same for less than $3 and salt it properly. Barely worth it on a two for one deal. Waffles were soggy, not crispy at all, and the whipped cream was powdery like it came from a can and was chillec way too hard. "Tuna" salad is mostly lettuce and the balsamic dressing container leaked all over my stuff when I was replating. Overall an experience I could not recommend. Maybe it's better in person...

Have been going here steadily for about 2 years with my wife, and we are always satisfied with the food and service. There's a very friendly, chill, and family-inclusive vibe there which is nice.

The prices are very reasonable too, especially in contrast to more expensive breakfast places around Bloor West, and their banana bread and other baked goods are awesome. They even bring samples to tables every now and then which is a definite nice touch.
