Not my usual review but I urge you to read for it may open a new window of taste for you.
Feeling adventurous on a friday evening, I took up a nerdy foodie challenge:
A) Avoid the famous pizzerias and find the Best deal from local pizza chain for 2 people
B) To try something new on pizza than the usual (Note: I am more of a New York style pizza guy OR at times a regular dough pizza and usual 3 toppings like mushroom, chicken and Jalapenos.)
The first part of the challenge: The closest to us are 2 chains: Pizza Nova and Pizza Pizza. Research showed Pizza Pizza had better deals, so we chose it.
First let's see the Pizza Pizza deals.
1.XXL 3 toppings pizza special: $19.99
Large pizza with 3 drinks: $15.99
Mix & Match: $19.99 Large 2-Topping pizza and choice of Wings, Bites, Tots or Garlic Cheese Fingers.
New Reverse Tariff deal: 25% off on single pizzas.
Note: Extra charge for premium toppings and new base sauce.
Now coming to 'Try something New on Pizza' part:
I decided: New base sauce: Creamy Garlic Sauce ($2.50 extra)
3 toppings with 1 premium topping : Chose Mushroom, Green Pepper & Butter Chicken($1.10 extra)
Next, I used this combination on all the deals. Here is the price comparison with tax:
1.XXL 3 toppings pizza special: $19.99 Price came to 26.66
Large pizza with 3 drinks: $15.99 (upsize to XL for $3.50) -Made it XL(no XXL option) and chose 3 drinks -Price came to $25.53
Mix & Match - $19.99 Large 2-Topping pizza and your choice of Wings, Bites, Tots or Garlic Cheese Fingers. Added the 1 extra topping (No XL or XXL option) and chose the 8 breaded wings option with texas barbeque -Price came to $28.52
Reverse tariff deal: 25% off on single pizzas. Chose XXL pizza and applied the 25% discount Price came to $27.57
Result: XXL pizza with 3 toppings comes cheaper with XXL Special deal ($26.66) than the Reverse Tariff 25% discount($27.57) deal by $1.
The Large Pizza with 3 drinks deal, even when upsized to XL didn't seem worth ($25.53). Reason being, you can get XXL pizza for just $1 more. Even with 3 cans (which retail for 1.50) , it didn't feel worth compared to an XXL pizza.
Finally, the Mix and Match. Here You get a Large Pizza and 8 breaded wings for $28.57. Now if you buy JUST THE PIZZA without any deal , the same large Pizza comes to $26.37 and if you add the Reverse Tariff 25% off deal it comes $19.79. Individually 10 wings cost 13.89, so for 8 wings lets say $12. If we add that, it comes to $38.37 without deal and $31.79 with reverse tariff deal.
Inference, the Mix and Match gives you best Bang for the buck. Yes you compromise on size, but you get 8 saucy wings, which is great for the price and makes it a wholesome meal.
So we chose the Mix and Match for pick up at store. A kind asian lady welcomed us with a smile and informed us about the wait time - 10 mins.
20 mins later we were back at our place and opened the box.
Honestly the white sauce on the pizza didn't look appetizing. But I closed my eyes and took the first bite

The hot creamy garlic sauce on the dough makes it feel as if the pizza is melting in your mouth. The mushroom and peppers complimented it nicely and the butter chicken added a nice spice and chew to the experience. It felt wholesome and before we knew , I and my parter had downed 3 slices each.
Coming to wings, even though they were the Frozen breaded wings, they were fried perfectly. They were quite juicy and with the BBQ sauce tasted pretty good.
Overall, this challenge resulted with my palate discovering something new and delicious.
To Foodies: Although Nothing can replace the original Pizza slice, I urge you to give this sauce a try. I bet you'll like it.
To Management: Great store, great service. Nice, delicious Pizza. May be the team needs to promote the Creamy garlic sauce more.
Final rating : 8.7/10

Read moreSo this happened tonight... Young lady, University Grad School student orders a poutine from this location - which she will pick up personally as it is literally doors from her home. She orders through DoorDash as she will get a credit for ordering.
She arrives to pick up, and the reference number she has ON HER PHONE is different from the number the store has. However, the store also has her name on their slip, and it is a unique name few would have. (DoorDash scrambles customer phone numbers for security reasons, so the store does not have her actual phone number). BUT THEY STILL HAVE HER NAME ON THEIR COPY. The so-called 'Manager' Tom claims she could be anyone, and he can not release her food to her. He repeatedly says that anyone can come in and claim to be her and pick up her food. He three times called her Sarah, which is not her name, and her proper name is printed clearly on his copy. The food is ALREADY PAID FOR. The interchange goes on for an hour. WHILE HER FOOD IS SITTING ON TOP OF THE PIZZA OVEN. This particular customer/student usually has something from this location every 2-3 weeks. Now Tom gets on the phone in order to have someone else from either DoorDash or Pizza Pizza validate how right he is, and he keeps dropping the calls to DoorDash because he is also arguing with the customer at the same time and he misses the prompts. She would not have waited an hour except for the fact that Tom has not yet specifically said he would not give her the food she ordered and paid for.
The gentleman witnessing this is a restaurateur who has operated busy locations doing upwards of 1,100 customers a day. Tom's comment to him is that he wouldn't know about fast food then. Never mind, one of his locations had 125 employees each summer through Christmas. Meanwhile, Tom places pepperoni and slings chicken wings for his career. There's nothing wrong with that.
After all this, as Tom has dragged this out arguing, justifying, being on the phone with various calls, repeating himself to the recipient of the calls over and over, the young lady was still denied her food by Powerful Tom, so he could save face, apparently because this lady with a unique name could be anyone trying to pick up someone else's food, using a most unique name she happened to guess at, I imagine when she came through the door.
My uncle was the gentleman and will use this Pizza Pizza story (1721.Bloor W) for years to come in hospitality courses he teaches. Talk about a course on What Not To Do. And for context, please check the cameras. My uncle was also there the previous night for a slice, fries and a drink. You lost more than one regular customer over this deplorable treatment from a 'manager' who has not the slightest idea of what Customer Service, or Public Relations...
Read moreI wish I could give this place less then one star. Let's start off by saying how dirty the place was. Everything from the tables and floors to the one washroom that was working. I can at least say when you told them the washroom was dirty the lady came and cleaned it right away. Ok fine but then she didn't even wash her hands after that and that's just plain gross. So then I continue to watch her change the garbages and when a costumer came in she would helped them but without washing her hands again gross. Now to the most disgusting thing I seen was the cook/pizza maker come wash the pizza oven in the front with a mop yes a mop. I'm assuming it's the same mop the lady just used in the washoorm (because it looked like the same disgusting dirty mop) she cleaned for me in the wasroom. Right then and there my mouth dropped open and I dropped my pizza (couldn't even finish it after what I saw) and my friend asked what was wrong and I told her what I had just seen. Even she could believe it. So you think that's the end of it oh no I continued to watch the same guy wearing the same gloves he had on when using the mop to clean the oven and now touching everything else besides food. And now he's making pizzas with those same gloves. I can only imagine the things they do when the costumes are not around and when the store is closed. This place is gross and disgusting and I won't be returning or ordering from as it's my home store to order from. I have never written a review for anything but I felt I had to do this to warn people of how gross this store is and how basically their employees don't wash their hands after touching garbage and cleaning washrooms. And how they use the same dirty mop to clean floors and the washroom floors too in the same pizza oven that cook costumers food. I am beyond disgusted and hope my son and I don't get sick from their lack of food safety. I will be calling head on them to report the store. Hope they will actually care what one of their...
