UPDATE as of May 03rd/2025
Mademoiselle is truly one-of-a-kind.
Their attention to guest wellbeing is unparalleled.
I spent so much money here and had such a good time, they decided I shouldn’t come back….
I guess they were worried for my health… or maybe my wallet. That’s the level of care we’re talking about. They even blocked my number so I wouldn’t accidentally make another reservation.
And to really go above and beyond? They now have their security personally stationed at the door, just to make sure I don’t spend another dollar.
Imagine a place that’s so concerned for you, they shut you out completely. 😱
A stunning venue, beautiful décor, decent food…but be warned: love it too much and they’ll love you right out the door. End of an era.
Edited back to five stars, Everything I’ve stated has been resolved by the staff who went above and beyond to ensure all conflicts were resolved. This remains a hot spot for me and my dearest friends for a night out.
Edited to one star, I don’t intend to be back. Ex-Owner knows.
If a weekly customer can’t speak to the manager without being told “send an email send an email” 🚩and yet they have the time of day for others it leaves a bad taste in people’s mouths.
I will be sad to miss out on the fun I’ve had but there are plenty of other spots in Toronto that I will feel valued and respected as a human being.
I can’t bring myself to support a business that can’t spend 2 mins with their own customers. That is all.
PREVIOUS REVIEW IS STILL VALID, IF YOU’RE TRYING TO DEAL WITH MANAGEMENT THEY MAY NOT BE AS KIND. BE WARNED FROM MY EXPERIENCE.
💁♀️Okay I’m not gonna lie my first time here was NOT five star but it was understandable and here’s why:
They were EXTREMELY busy, it was a Friday night and the bartenders were impossible to grab their attention, they only served those they knew. 🥲
Evidence of this was I was standing there for 10 mins and not one bartender came or gave any eye contact yet a lady came up beside me and got her drink within seconds. I was told it’s because ‘he knows her’.
It took me 30+ mins to get a drink due to this and it really turned me off the place for a while.
I was visibly annoyed enough that a kind gentleman told me go upstairs service is better at that bar…ordered a simple drink rum & coke, the bartender told me “Oh, he can make it for you” and pointed to his colleague which I found odd, I asked him if he’s able to make it he said “yes” and I further asked “why didn’t you?” He simply shrugged 🤷♂️
That was my first time ever here and it did make a big impression so I didn’t return for MONTHS. Since then I’ve been back twice, sat at the sushi bar, we had a nice view of the kitchen, great drinks and food. 👨🍳
This last time I came much earlier on a Friday night and I must say, the service was awesome, food was incredible and everything was above and beyond, I think I transcended when I ate that salmon I would’ve licked the plate if there was no one watching. Fantastic drinks as well, I’m glad I gave this place another shot.
As for the late night service…if the same difficulty to service higher crowds is still a stumbling block with this establishment, due to lack of eye contact or just selective servicing that remains...
Read moreBad experience honestly started from the Hostes. We came for dinner (two of us) at 6.15 pm on Tuesday night and restaurant was completely empty!!! And they still tried to sit us at the worst table in the middle of the restaurant, not even in nice booth area. We asked for better table and had to do it few times, host just kept saying they are fully booked but restaurant had maybe 3 people in total on Tuesday night. Ok next she says we only have less then 1.5h if she gave us a booth.
Drinks 35$ - not worth at all. Appetizers - we got 4 different one: Octopus- way too dry, Hamachi Crudo- was swimming in too much sauce, Tuna tartar - the same problem, too salty , soup on the bottom instead of sauce, Burrata was just average.
Next I ordered a second drink “Campari spritz” with soda on the side ( I also mention not put soda to my drink as it comes with it to make sure)- so as you can see they charged me for Pop 😂for Campari spritz and soda separately. ( we only noticed when we paid but server didn’t even try to fix a mistake, apologized and left).
Also waitress who brought my drink still had soda in it and I kindly said that I ask soda on the side. She asked me to try first before I return it. I was shocked. I know how I like my fav drink , why not fix the mistake instead of trying to force me to drink what I didn’t order.
Sushi : spicy tuna and shrimp tempura was ok. I actually like the shrimp by itself. But roll was not looking attractive, more like “all you can eat” sushi , taste average. We took it home.
For main we picked truffle chicken which I took home and I wish I tried it there. It was completely under cooked and pink inside 😩. I know it’s Raw bar but I think chicken should be cooked.
And twice baked potato with caviar which was the best part of the dinner. But I wish they at least gave you this full tinny potato and not just half. But taste really really good. Actually good amount caviar as well.
Music was too loud, we barely could talk. Maybe it’s their thing but not at 6 pm when people are trying to have dinner after work. Super poor choose of music - all Tik Tok hits for 13 yo. Also toilet has a girl selling gums and other stuff like it’s a night club. For me 35$ drink and a girl who is selling stuff in the washroom… Far away from classy.
And main thing. We did finish dinner less then 1.5h how we were asked, but restaurant was still empty! So we could have any table and stay longer but host still gave us hard time. We had a nice table but facing oyster bar and all staff who were looking at us because they had nothing to do and they weren’t busy, felt a bit uncomfortable.
I would not sit people there when it’s not busy , so not the staff or quests can feel awkward like we did. Our server was good tho.
I was so excited to come…I Well, what...
Read moreMy friends and I came here to celebrate birthdays. The birthday girl and I enjoy all kinds of seafood and my other friend only has an allergy to fish and shrimp, which we did not order in order to accommodate his allergy. Our server noted the allergy at the beginning of our sitting. When the food came out, it was amazing. Everything arrived one after the other and every bite tasted delicious. We were eagerly digging in until the birthday girl suddenly noticed there was a shrimp on top of the dish. We immediately notified our servers, who said a manager would come over to assess the situation. My friend went to get some allergy medication as he started to get an allergic reaction. In this time, no manager came to our table. All the dishes were cleared and our water glasses were empty. The manager finally came over and asked if we were going to order another bottle and said if not, they had another reservation at the table so we needed to leave. This response was shocking- it was completely unprofessional and irresponsible. We eventually got our bill. Thankfully, the restaurant took the dish in question out from our bill and one server offered us free dessert but at that point, we felt the establishment didn’t care about our needs so we wanted to leave. I expect more from a restaurant charging $100 for one cocktail. Beware of this restaurant’s lack of sensibility and care for their patrons. I’m just glad my friend is okay and don’t get me wrong- the food was amazing. Which is such a shame because the management handled this situation so poorly.
As you can see from my photo, they noted the allergy so there is no excuse for this experience.
Edit: In the owner's response, they had to make mention of the exclusive alcohol used in their restaurant (B10 Belvedere) which, I have to add, has a far less rigorous filtration process than its competition, Grey Goose. I get it - they have patrons who are willing to spend a lot of money. Cool. What does that have to do with the fact that their kitchen put shrimp in TWO dishes we ordered after telling your servers we have a shrimp allergy? And then, your manager had the audacity to tell us we need to leave to make space for another reservation when we were already waiting for our bill... It would appear the owner is missing more than one point here. They say, 'Money can't buy you class' and that point is made astonishingly clear at Mademoiselle, another mismanaged establishment in Toronto where you clearly can't pay to get good...
