If I could leave a 0 I would, believe me. I have never felt so disrespected at an establishment. I joined my friends at a table, racked up an almost $700 bill as a group. When half my group left they PAID their half as expected. While a new round of drinks arrived to the table, (before I could have a sip while talking to a new friend) I was aggressively approached by our server Jessica and security demanding I pay the bill and that the friends I was still with had ditched me. (jackets and all left behind on our chairs and a fresh round of drinks, while a couple went to the washroom) I told them we were staying and enjoying our night out and no one from this half was leaving, we were all here and our now only $375 bill would be taken care of. Now with security in arms length and server behind me, she proceeds to tell security I am on the hook for the bill and not to let me leave. This would spark a back and forth conversation about how my friends were here, our approximately $3000 worth of jackets on the chairs. Maybe 5 minutes later my friends returned ( I was surprised they didn't leave me, never to speak to me again and give me all their winter jackets, sarcasm intended ). Thanks for making my group feel disrespected, and embarrassing me in front of new company. I was about to throw my server a compliment on her service when she walked up. Little did I know it was to let me know we were suspected of ditching a bill at this "fine dining" restaurant. I feel uncomfortable just writing this review.. As a person in the industry I hope I never have to attend an event here. What a shame.

Where carnivores and herbivores can harmoniously dine on delicious food with fantastic service! My meat eater friends had some seriously huge and awesome looking meat, they were raving about the flavors. The veal parm is basically uncle buck sized and comes with the bone in. Even I was captivated when this plate was dropped. Every single one of the sides can be veganized and are so unbelievably tasty. I had the curry cashew carrots, chili roasted Brussels and bean casserole. HEAVENLY! I could eat those Brussels everyday. Sincerely, a proper plant based resto couldnt have done it better. My friend got the spaghetti squash if was unbelievable, great spice to it! They also had mini potatoes with dill, fries with malted vinegar aioli...and a couple other vegan friendly dishes. Our server Kristen was so friendly warm and fun, she perfected this experience! All the staff we interacted with were fantastic, they have excellent hiring processes here! Chef Ryan! The kindest happiest and most wonderful chef. My two meat eater friends ordered desserts. Ps they RAVED about the pecan bar. Chef Ryan came over to my fellow vegan and I with custom hand pressed berry gelato to ensure we could enjoy dessert as well! Not on the menu and you could actually taste the freshness, holy this was unreal. Then he popped back over to offer to top our gelato with his famous pomegranate molasses sauce 🤤🤤🤤 I could have just drank this stuff straight. Amazing amazing spot, highly recommend for dinner or drinks. Theres a cool looking speakeasy/club downstairs in the basement as well!

Unfortunately my experience here was extremely disappointing. To begin 2 friends and myself were sat at the table closest to the dj stand. (Bad seating is typically for younger guest in my experience) we sat and waited 30 minutes for our table to be approached. Then once we spoke yo the manager our table was finally approached and given water. The manager offered us tequila shorts for the inconvenience. Ordered drinks and waited 10+ minutes to receive them. Once drinks were Received we finally got to order our meals. I ordered the crab and lobster ravioli and my friends ordered the short rib and the rigatoni. After 30 minutes of waiting for our food to come out… IT WAS COLD!! The ravioli was not great but the short rib was pretty tasty despite the temperature. I asked for some pepper and parmesan and I never received them. 37 dollars for 3 raviolis that are cold is ridiculous. Lastly when I went to the washroom before leaving the washroom attendant was on her phone the whole time and did not offer me a napkin I had to get it myself. When these concerns were expressed to the manager he did nothing but offer us more food and deserts. The bills came and my friend who ordered the espresso martini with made with baileys ended up being a 30 dollar drink. I really wish that when I came out to spent my hard earned money at a restaurant I could have had a better experience or better compensation for a bad experience. But I know how the restaurant industry works for younger guests.

My 6 friends and I visited in January. The experience was disappointing for many reasons and there were some issues with our final bill.

The dining room and ambiance were beautiful, but it was very quiet for a Thursday night. We were seated next to a round table that was empty and asked if we could be moved there. We were told that there was a group of 8 coming in at 8:00 pm and that we couldn't be moved. We were OK with this, but when we left around 8:30 pm the table was still empty. When at our table, the sommelier (who was AMAZING) noticed our table was uneven and asked our server to fix it. The server laughed it off and did nothing Three of my friends were ill later in the evening which they can only attribute to the food consumed at MARBL. I wasn't sick, but the food was just OK... one friend didn't even eat her entree, she just asked for it to go. The wine list is VERY expensive. There were barely a handful of botles priced under $100 and many were above $200. They told us the restaurant was geared towards a Yorkville clientele. MARBL is on King West...it's not the same crowd. Finally, when it was time to pay the bill, I was not told by our server that 18% gratuity was added to our bill. Yes, I know this is common practice for larger groups, but I have always been alerted by the restaurant when making the reso or by the server at the time of payment, especially if their credit card machine prompts for gratuity. He did not mention it at all, even though the credit card machine does in fact prompt for an additional gratuity. I find this extremely dishonest and in bad taste. Since I was not informed, I tipped an additional 15%.

The overall experience was poor and then to see that we double tipped was incredibly frustrating. I reached out to them the next day and received a response from Alex immediately:

"I would first off like to start out by apologizing sincerely for your experience at Marbl yesterday. We will refund the difference ASAP as we never want this to happen to one of our guests. I would like to personally give you a call if you have a moment in order to shed some more light on this incident . Please let me know the easiest way to reach you"

I responded with two numbers I was available at. I did not hear from Alex or see a refund and when I emailed I received a short response 5 days later apologizing for the delay and asking if I was available for a call "tomorrow" (Thursday). I responded on Thursday indicating I was available all day and included my phone number. On SATURDAY I received a one line email response from Alex saying, "great, talk to you then." ??? I have yet to hear back or see a refund. A colleague of mine also reached out about hosting a 25 person cocktail reception and was told they would provide information shortly...that was three weeks ago!

I normally judge an experience or establishment based on how they recovered or handled a negative experience. The way this has been handled is completely unprofessional, frustrating and a waste of my time. They clearly do not care about new or repeat business. Bottom line: DO NOT GO TO MARBL.

** Edit: While reading through the reviews, I see a 5 star review from Alex Rodriguez which I can only assume is the same Alex Rodriguez who I've been corresponding with. I guess that's one strategy to boost your...

My friends and I came here for a birthday celebration and were gravely disappointed. Similar to the majority of the Google Reviews, we received terrible customer service from the beginning to the end of our experience. We booked a reservation for 5 indoors for Friday October 8th 8:30 pm a week in advance. Three days before our reservation we reached out to see if we were allowed to bring balloons / if the restaurant did anything for birthdays. We had to ask three times for the hostess to ask another coworker because her response was "I don't know and we're busy." We were told they have a dessert menu (which is fine we did not expect anything) and that the waitress would take care of it the night of. When it came down to it, the waitress did nothing for the birthday despite us asking. On the day of the reservation, we received a message a few hours before that they were overbooked and we had to sit on their patio or wait for an indoor table to be available by delaying our reservation- which was not a problem for us. When we called to confirm we got the message (which was asked of us by the hostess, Tiana) and asked how much later we would have to delay our reservation to guarantee an indoor spot, the hostess replied "I don't know, whatever I said in the message. I'm not by the computer right now." When we asked her, again, to please verify as we are trying to plan accordingly (to their oversight might I add) she repeated herself with a horrible attitude and was audibly sighing at our request. We decided to keep the patio reservation as we had no other guaranteed option and were really looking forward to the restaurant. We then called to let them know we will be about 5 - 10 minutes late (which is well within the grace period) and were told rudely to "not be later than that." When we arrived, we were told to wait in line for almost a half an hour because they were too busy, despite having a reservation (that was already switched due to their mistake but I digress.) After we ordered, one of our five meals came 20 minutes earlier than the rest and we had to ask to reheat it two times to which the waitress was very annoyed with and had another staff member deal with it. We understand that this is a very busy restaurant but the customer service was absolutely unacceptable, especially for a place that charges $26 for two tiny bacon wrapped scallops. The decor and overall aesthetic of the restaurant was absolutely beautiful and it is such a shame that this place is getting such a bad reputation, I would not recommend this experience to anyone.

As a group of individuals who have all worked in the service industry downtown Toronto, we are disgusted that this is how we were treated and are honestly so disappointed as we had very high hopes for this...

We wanted to try this place for a double birthday. We were a large group. As soon as we started getting our drinks we noticed the servers were very rude, as if they had no hospitality experience. Two male servers, one pulled out his hand in front of my face rudely to get my attention. Both servers never had a smile as if they were forced to work there and hated their jobs. They kept trying to push and up sell the meals and appetizers seemed like the business is struggling and and made us feel very uncomfortable. Then we wanted to order, there were so many of us and the server Micheal didn't want to start taking our orders only because one person at the other end of the table was looking at the menu briefly. We had to convince him three times that we ARE ready. It took them 45mins to bring our food and the place was half empty so I don't know how long they take other nights. They brought our food and said "sorry". The food was good by very very salty and the portion of the main meals were the size of an appetizer. I am a 110 pound women and the meal did not fill me up. Most of our group was still hungry and didn't think the food was the greatest. Finally when it was time for the bill, we had asked way ahead that we want split bills in groups of 2-3, then they said they could not do this, so we said okay. Then they randomly brought the bills out split them on their own without asking us in groups of four as a "favor" . Almost all the bills had 2-5 extra charges on them, I felt like they maybe causing all the confusion to sneak in extra charges. It took my friends a long time to convince them about the mistakes on some of the bills. Don't forget this whole time they were very rude. I told the server Micheal to relax and he kept saying I am relaxed. I asked to speak to a manager and he kept saying why? I explained to him that all the servers were rude ( mainly the two guys, not the drink ladies they were nice) and that I wanted to ask why there were so many "mistake" on the bills. He said he was not rude, and refused me several times then I asked if there even is a manager because we thought maybe it was him, he replied yes manager is here. And never brought him to me to talk to so I just let it go and decided to write a review. What a Horrible experience, no wonder the star ratings are so low. Never going back there, prices were high on food that was not the greatest nor filling! The place is a nice place with cute decor and ambiance but the service was so cold and unwelcoming. Oh one last thing the service was so bad but they had added themselves 20% tip on each bill. Isn't tip suppose to be given if the servers are good, maybe that's why they had an attitude, cuz they will get the tips by...
