One cashier isn't enough for lunch crowd! I've been doing some research about this place and recently dt has this middle eastern whirlwind with aroma and Me Va Me! So after long time missing my waterloo lebanese shawarma, I was tortured by those Ali Baba joints raided by Dinesafe often. However this place is nearby and I imagine hospital staff would get their food irregularly so decided to give a try. 1st time: shawarma chicken with hummus. I'm a bread guy so 2 bread isn't enough for me to finish the hummus bowl. Unfortunately could use some green veggies to improve the savoury taste. Filling, but oilly. 2nd time: sharwarma chicken laffa. Not great because wraps are.. just a snack I imagined. Yet, it was so filling compared with the other burrito place nearby. Great sauces, but dry chicken just hurt my mouth a lot. Filling as well! But please put more people over their. I can see the girl cashier struggling to set everybody, she even gave me a free bag of chips for kept me waiting. Next time will go for their...
Read moreNot worth $15 for the portion I got. The cashier was friendly and the presentation of the food I got was good. When I ordered the cashier asked what side I would like and I chose the wedges option. I thought this was going to be an actual side but instead it was under my shawarma meat. The dill on the wedges was way too much dill. Throughout the whole meal all I tasted was dill. Usually shawarma bowls have a lot of meat. I felt that this bowl had more fries and not enough meat. Also my bowl was made inside and I did not see the meat freshly shredded. Should give the option of putting on dressing and ingredients in front of the customer. This store already put everything on before bringing it out. If I had the option I would have opted out of some of the salads with tomatoes (personal preference) none the less they should ask customer. Also food was served after 8 minutes of ordering. Should be faster for a fast food place. Overall...
Read moreI really wish I'd taken a picture of my meal, it most definitely wasn't what I was expecting. I was in the food court at Mt Sinai Hospital this evening, 600 University Avenue, and wanted something warm and nourishing, not fast food; I know, what was I doing in a food court then?
I ordered the Lamb Hamburgers with a side of Herbed Grilled Vegetables and a ME Salad. Wow, it was beautiful, and had amazing flavour! They know how to cook, the lamb wasn't dried out, very-slightly pink in the centre, and the grilled vegetables were al dente and wonderfully seasoned, absolutely perfect.
If you're a patient at Mt Sinai in need of good food, or just in the neightbourhood, you must stop by ME VA ME. The staff were very friendly as well, a perfect 10. Almost looking forward to my next...
