I've been here a few times. I really like their coffee, it's got depth and punch to it - just the way I like it. There's a lot of fancy flavours, and I've tried a few already (taro, white lao, and normal latte). They offer things like coffee dust as well. A few competitors are in the area though: Starbucks across from them, Tims and Jimmies on the next street (Gerrard). Price-wise, it's between Jimmies and Starbucks. Taste-wise, I think they're doing extremely well right now. This would be the place to go for fancy cafe drinks. However, it seems like they have a lot of new and inexperienced staff as service was a bit slow sometimes. I think they just opened, so give them some time to improve. Another thing I inquired about was a mobile app to collect points. If they had that, I would go more frequently. Another tip is to keep up the quality of your drinks, the instant you drop those standards - people will switch to other alternatives. Your unique drinks, quality flavours, and fair prices are your greatest points so far. Keep up the good work and you'll catch up (or surpass) your competitors. Cheers, V

Coffee places near the Toronto ferries is hard to find. Was able to find Mos Mos diagonally across from the terminal. Ordered a flat white, medium. Flat whites should only be 1 size as it’s a dbl ristretto with low foam milk. I took a sip and tasted no espresso at all. It was simply steamed milk @ >$4. Was very disappointed and ended up throwing the drink out. The consolation was the Bloomers donuts they had there which was AMAZING. It was extremely fresh and fluffy which is quite different from other donuts I’ve had. Big and more than enough to share. I’d give thumbs down on coffee but thumbs up on donut. BTW, we asked about their espresso blends and had their darker roast than the blonde espresso, so was expecting a more bolder flavor. Espresso fans, may want to reconsider.

One of the places in downtown Toronto where I used to enjoy hot handcrafted beverages. This place is usually famous for chai lattes but I am a coffee person and always try out different options on coffee. Due to work from home in pandemic, have not been here for more than a year but when I visited this place recently, the place was very quiet as opposed to the regular traffic it has in downtown. But this time when I visited the weather was warm and I was in the mood of trying something cold that day, so I tried iced Skor latte , well honestly I did not like the Skor pieces and considering the price of 5$++ the price was definitely not worth it. Would not recommend for day to day, but occasionally some things turn out nice , some things don’t. You just may have to try your luck !

Great boutique coffee shop located conveniently to me.

9th visit: Came with a colleague of 3 years (RH) after lunch nearby. I had a large taro iced tea (my fav drink so far). He had a large iced matcha latte. Delicious.

8th visit: Came with a colleague. She ordered a tea and pastry. I ordered a large iced Kenyan milk tea (black sugar, regular milk as recommended). Grabbed our drinks, and went up to the BEI HUIYISHI. In the future, go to the SWAY instead (personal preferences). My drink was good, flavour was very unique. It was a very full bodied flavour, sour (yoghurt-like flavour), and kind of tasted like goat milk/an iced cortado. I would consider ordering this again if I am in the mood for a sour, yoghurt-like drink.

-- In the future, I want to try these drinks (regular and iced): cardamom chai latte, masala chai latte, mango chai latte, ceremonial matcha latte (highest quality of matcha vs culinary grade - [has a more complex flavour profile - more naturally sweet with little to no bitterness, more buttery and creamy, and more umami flavours]), iced chocolate latte, iced dark chocolate mocha, iced tiramisu, iced Skor latte, and iced Chai tea latte with oat milk + blonde espresso shot. Also - ask them if they can make me a mango lassi.

7th visit: Ordered a large ginger matcha iced latte. It was OK - I would not order this again. Mos Mos' execution of the drink was excellent, however the drink's flavours clash, contrast too much, and is not for me. The ginger (fresh grounded ginger - great) added to the matcha adds a more complex flavour, making it spicy and tangy, but it takes away and distracts from the grassy, nutty, and earthy flavour of the matcha. If I wanted a ginger drink, I would order it separately in a ginger shot, ginger beer, etc.

6th visit: Came with a colleague. I had a large coffee, with cocoa garnish, he had a medium latte (+ he likes banana bread). The coffees here are very average, the cocoa powder did not really add much flavour to it either. I've concluded that if I'm coming here, I'm always going to be ordering a more complex drink as this is what they specialize in. We were short on time so we went up to our BEI HUIYISHI and chatted while standing and overlooking our view of the city.

5th visit: Met up with a cross-team colleague (CW) from Payments. I had a large taro iced latte (I prefer taro iced tea as #1 over matcha iced tea as #2 over cortado as #3, but all taste spectacular). This was such an amazing taro experience (for reference, taro has a sweet potato-like taste) - the taro paste (I prefer taro paste over taro powder) was smooth, thick, and creamy and the taro was a great consistency and very fresh. Walked over to the SWAY, chatted for 20 minutes. By the time I finished my drink, around 10% of my cup was still filled with ice. Although it tasted great, there was too much ice in my drink.

4th visit: Came with a cross-team colleague (JS) from RIM. I had a large iced matcha latte and he had a small black coffee. Enjoyed my drink, the ratio was perfect, which I appreciate. We walked over to the SWAY and chatted for 20 minutes overlooking the view. By the time I finished my drink, there was no ice left (perfect ratio).

3rd visit: My colleague bought snacks for the 2 of us. He had a slice of carrot cake, I had a slice of spinach frittata.

In return, I bought us 2 cortado espresso drinks. Sat by the indoor benches. My spinach fritata (spinach, eggs, mushrooms, feta cheese, shallots) tasted great. I wish the pieces were bigger, because the spinach frittata slices (at the same price point) are cut at half the size of the carrot cake slices, which I think is a bit of a gimmick.

2nd visit: Had a large black coffee. It was just standard coffee. At a later date, my colleague told me that they will put cocoa (and other garnishes) in your coffee if you ask for it. I'll have to try that next time.

1st visit: Had the cortado [only available in size small (espresso shot and steamed milk caramelized at a 1:1 ratio)]. I really liked it. Very thick...

Great boutique coffee shop located conveniently to me.

15th visit: Came with a colleague. I had a large iced taro latte. Delicious. But the size of a large has gotten smaller? This is now the size of a medium. I dislike the shrinkflation at this location.

-- In the future, I want to try these drinks (regular and iced): cardamom chai latte, masala chai latte, ceremonial matcha latte (highest quality of matcha vs culinary grade - [has a more complex flavour profile - more naturally sweet with little to no bitterness, more buttery and creamy, and more umami flavours]), iced chocolate latte, iced dark chocolate mocha, iced tiramisu, iced Skor latte, and iced Chai tea latte with oat milk + blonde espresso shot. Also - ask them if they can make me a mango lassi.

14th visit: Came with a colleague. I had a large iced taro latte. So delicious. Creamy, sweet, savoury, delightful. Fresh taro, well mixed. Excellent.

13th visit: Had a medium iced apple cider (apple cider is fresh, unfiltered, and often unpasteurized vs apple juice which is filtered and pasteurized). Came with dried goji berries and a cinnamon stick in my drink. Tasted great. I love apple cider. And I then made my own black tea and poured it in with these fruit garnishes. Tasted fantastic. If I'm in the mood for an iced fruity drink, I will continue to order this one.

12th visit: Had the standard coffee, 1 cream. Served foamed on top. Great, if I'm in the mood for coffee.

11th visit: Had a large, hot, taro latte. Added cinnamon on top. So good. The taro was authentic, unsweetened (maybe it was sweetened, it tasted so good), creamy, and just delightful. This is going to be my go-to hot drink in the future.

10th visit: Came with a cross-team colleague (EM) from Finance. I had a mango chai latte and she had a small coffee, double double. My mango chai latte tasted great, great mango and chai flavours and they complement each other well. Walked to the...

Coffee and cookies were quite good, but service was bad. Servers give people mardy faces, may be cuz they were busy in the morning so they tend to take their bad mood out on customers. Would probably go to other cafe in the morning where servers have smiles on their faces (even if it means I have to do some walking to a place farther from my office). Food quality is important, but it’s the service that people want to come back for. Didn’t even want to give one star for the service. Even my boss doesn’t give me that kind of attitude. Looks like I’m not the only person complaining about their service. If the owner really cares about customer service probably would have changed the staffs already. Or may be they just don’t care.

*RE: Reply from mos mos coffee on Nov 29th, 2023. No, there should only be one review at the 20 Bay location. I realized I put the review under the wrong location at 200 Bay the moment after I hit the Post button, and I have removed it immediately after it was posted. So there should only be one review at the 20 Bay location where the incident happened yesterday, if you care to double check it on Google Map before sending me a reply below you will know there’s only one review. And I will never go to this 20 Bay Street shop anymore. You don’t give people a slap on their face out of the blue then offer them a free coffee; this is not how customer service should be. If your staffs really appreciate the business, they would not be so rude to their customers to begin with. My recommendation to you is, send somebody to this location to observe how the staffs are treating the customers. Staffs at the other...
