Overall a 3.5 restaurant. The pizza that they said they were known for - which set the expectation on the high end for me - was just average despite their fancy descriptions and whatever we ordered that was a $26 pizza tasted alright and not as crunchy as I thought and didn't have any unique taste to it. It used boar bacon which tastes just like any regular bacon to me but it could be I don't have refined palettes to tell them apart. The pesto calamari was a surprise in a sense I thought it was grilled with pesto on top but as it turned out it was fried and I couldn't tell what was pesto about it but I could have misunderstood what it meant. The calamari was pretty good, it was lightly breaded and had just the right crunch with very tender calamari inside. I find $21 to be on the pricy side for it but can see myself not mind ordering this again. The drinks were a bit disappointing to me. I got the "honeymoon in Sicily" - the gin was overpowered by whatever pop and artificial juice they might have mixed it with. Again the description on the menu was a lot better than how it turned out. The service was ok, no complaints but also no highlights, within expectations of a casual joint. The lake view at the patio was definitely better than patios with no water view, however compare to all the patios with a view this is also just alright. Overall an ok restaurant, wouldn't mind dining there again at all but wouldn't be actively recommending people to go.

Pie Bar isn’t just a place for great pizza and pasta — it’s a full Harbourfront experience. With beautiful waterfront views and a warm, rustic vibe, Pie Bar blends classic Italian flavours with fun, interactive workshops that make you fall in love with pizza from scratch. We joined their pizza-making workshop, and it was a cheesy blast! They gave us a full kit with ready-made dough, house pizza sauce, toppings like mushrooms, cheese, and basil, plus a branded pizza box and a printed recipe so we can recreate it at home. You get to choose between making a Margherita or Mushroom pizza; or just freestyle if you’re feeling bold. The class itself was super hands-on: we started by learning how to make and stretch the dough, which we wrapped up to take home. The chef guided us through every step, teaching us authentic Italian techniques (including a very cool dough-flipping moment that got everyone’s attention). Rolling the dough with his unique hand technique was surprisingly therapeutic. Special shoutout to the servers Ak, Tej, and Paige for their hospitality throughout! We sauced, cheesed, topped, and sent our creations into the wood-fired oven, watching them bubble up and crisp beautifully. The result? Thin, cheesy, flavourful pizzas with a perfectly crisp crust. Nothing beats the feeling of eating something you made yourself! To hear more about this review, follow us @eatinontario on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, & Facebook. ✨🤩🙏

Ok so a bit of a long story but worth it. On Canada Day my husband and I put our names on the waiting list at 4pm with the hostess. We let her know we were celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary and wanted a patio seat to view the ship we were married on. We told her we were willing to wait . She looked at the guest list and said there were 5 parties ahead of us and took my name and cell # and said I’d be contacted as soon as our time for a table arrived . After waiting an hour and 15 minutes with no contact we returned to the hostess station and lined up. Noticing others were being seated directly (I asked ) and when we arrived to the front of the line the new hostess on duty notified me there was no waiting list and seated us in a horrible seat with no empathy or consideration of the mistake that occurred and frankly with no professionalism . I was obviously not pleased with the situation. However here is the best part and why I am taking time to write this out - Our Server Tammy, came to the rescue . She was amazing and obviously cared that our frustration was amended. By listening emphatically and finding us a better table . By being Very attentive throughout our meal and personable . Tammy saved the day ! Thank you Tammy for turning our experience around . What started on very shaky grounds ended up being an amazing anniversary dinner after all — all due to your support and your professionalism . Jessica and Joe Russo

The only reason I’m giving a one star is because the food was pretty good. The first time I came here, we had a lovely waitress and she was amazing. She was very accommodating and made sure my experience was perfect. Unfortunately, it was her last day. The second time I visited however, was a horrible experience and I will no longer come back. We were greeted by a waitress with short dreads. There is another waitress with dreads who is darker-skinned and taller, and she was very sweet to us although she wasn’t our server. This waitress however was lighter-skinned and shorter (only mentioning physical characteristics as I do not know her name and did not want to mix up the two waitresses because of their hairstyles). Anyhow, she asked us what we would like to order and we asked for their seafood pasta. I kindly asked to remove the clams/mussels and to add calamari/shrimp as a substitute, regardless of the charge (although I was not charged extra last time). She quickly stated that this was not possible and I informed her that the last time we visited and how this request was happily accommodated. She then went to say “I’m only a waitress and I do what I’m told”. She then proceeded to say that she would verify with the chef and come back. After a few minutes, we were approached by a different waitress who asked us what we would like to order. I informed her that we already placed an order with our waitress and she shyly said that our waitress left for the day. I was surprised our waitress never mentioned this to us and it’s quite rude to just leave your customers so abruptly. Anyhow, I told this new waitress my order and she happily accommodated the request of substituting the clams/mussels for calamari and shrimp. Quite odd that our first waitress was making a fuss about it when this new one didn’t even hesitate. Not to mention, modifying orders to your customers needs/dietary choices is a part of customer service and very common. Anyways, as we were waiting for food, our previous waitress continued to serve three new tables. So I guess she wasn’t going home lol? By the time we finished eating and were paying our bill, she was still serving people and continuously watched us at our table which was so odd. So obviously she just didn’t want to serve us. Pretty pathetic and unprofessional. How long has she worked in the hospitality sector, because she lacks a great deal of experience. I would recommend re-training her. I can will happily take my service elsewhere, unfortunately this experience has completely turned me off from...

Honestly, incredibly disappointing.

Server seemed like a nice person but was so unenthusiastic towards us from the jump for no reason, and we’d watch as he was so much happier serving other tables (of smaller sizes, despite us only being a group of 6). Service was incredibly slow and also very frustrating.

One of our guests has an extreme dietary restriction, requested a plain gluten free pizza with only olive oil and a bit of oregano. The server tried to explain that the guest could only order from the set menu, even though we called and spoke to the “head chef” the day before and said it be no issue. The server huffed and puffed but made the request and it went through, of course. The pizza came out entirely covered with layers of oregano, an honestly disgusting amount even for someone who didn’t have a dietary restriction. When we told the server how ridiculous it was for us to expect that be an okay amount to eat, there was more huffing and puffing.

Another guest requested no ham on their pizza, the pizza came out with ham, then came back out 3 times with 3 different servers explaining how “ham and bacon are the same in our kitchen” and tried explaining what pork was to our guest as if we were complete idiots. We know the difference between ham and bacon, wasn’t a dietary restriction but a preference, and still we get a hard time.

Another one of our guests ordered a salad, requested to add a “chicken breast” for an extra 10 dollars. The chicken he received was about a sliver of a breast, it was so laughable we had to ask for more chicken and show how ridiculously low it was.

The pizzas were so thin in the centre that literally every topping fell off.

Restaurant itself was okay in terms of atmosphere. Very strange how they don’t have their own washrooms and have to go into a public mall type area, not very private at all.

It’s a shame places like this get guaranteed service just cause they’re at a good location on the harbour, not cause it’s an actual good restaurant with good service.

I do not recommend this place, I’d go a bit more north downtown and eat at Toronto's one of many fantastic pizza places you’ll find on King, Queen,...

I'm writing this review about a month after my experience here....I haven't been able to stop thinking about this place. They don't make pizza like this in Arizona. They don't make pizza like this in the United States. This place is ridiculous. My girlfriend and I shared two pizzas. We don't eat two full pizzas, but we did, and we did it with ease, and with plenty of room to spare. It felt like my stomach was dilating with the immense, ecstatic pleasures. Tammy was our server, and she went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. She makes you feel like you're at a 5 star restaurant. Probably because you are at a 5 star restaurant. This place will make your head spin both directions at the same time. They should install seatbelts in the chairs. We don't deserve pizza this good. I wouldn't mind getting married in this restaurant. If and when you finally decide to make the best decision of your life and come to the Pie Bar, don't expect to walk out of there the same person. You will undergo a sort of metamorphosis, which will catapult you into a new and improved version of yourself. My career is taking off. My wisdom has increased. My dopamine levels are considerably higher at all times. I don't require as much sleep. My sperm count is off the charts and I'm falling more in love with my girlfriend every day. I attribute some of these life improvements to my wonderful dinner here last month. I'm coming back to visit in a couple weeks and I'm gonna ask the pilot if he could just land the plane on the dock outside of the restaurant so I don't have to wait any longer than necessary to experience this again. I'm also gonna inquire about franchise opportunities because there should be as many Pie Bars as there are Tim Hortons. I'm obviously giving them 5 stars, but that's a bit of an insult, considering that they deserve every...
