I have never been to any ST. Louis before as sport bars are as you can get compared to my usual vibe in terms of restaurant, but I saw in Instagram the AYCE Angus Burger promo they have going on and decided to drop in.
For a Sunday night this place was absolutely packed. We were fortunate enough to be sat almost immediately as a line started forming at the front door.
We were informed by our server Jon that they were SEVERELY understaffed for the night, consisting of 1 host, 1 server and 1 manager not present for the shift. I cannot explain how much I appreciate Jon setting expectations right off the hop, as I also am a former hospitality worker. Forgot to give us napkins, but we flagged down another worker after finishing our first round of burgers.
Starting with our first round, Jon brought us our burgers and asked us if we were planning on another round. We said yes, and he immediately went and punched in our next round of burgers. The same was also done for round 3. The burgers were great, we got them all on lettuce buns.
Rounds 4&5 were slow, as the amount of multitasking I saw Jon had to do was pretty brutal. I lost count of the amount of times I heard him explain the situation to new tables being sat. We got the bill in a timely fashion however.
Jon was an exceptional server the way he kept his composure despite all the chaos around him. Upon hearing that this was his second day I was mind blown at the absurdity of the situation. He’s definitely an asset to the establishment, my only complaint is please just have more staff on hand.
It wasn’t perfect, but I would come back based on this one visit.
Thank you ST. Louis for the great food and exciting experience, and thank you Jon for being the calm...
Read moreBibi, our server, single-handedly turned what should have been a relaxing evening into an utterly disappointing ordeal.
I am a regular customer of St. Louis Bar & Grill, and 5307 Yonge St. location has always been my favourite, no less! I’ve always been impressed by the lovely management and the genuinely helpful staff. But this visit was overshadowed by Bibi’s shockingly bad attitude.
From the moment she approached our table, her dismissive demeanour set the tone. She nearly tossed the drink on the table as if it were an afterthought, avoided eye contact, and – unbelievably – failed to provide menus.
It got worse. Our starters arrived, yet we had no utensils or napkins. By the time the main dishes came, we were still waiting – until we had to flag someone down and request them ourselves. And throughout the meal, Bibi didn’t bother to check on us even once. The indifference was palpable.
Thankfully, the rest of the team was as amazing as ever. With warm smiles and prompt responses, they salvaged what could have been a complete disaster. Their professionalism stood in stark contrast to Bibi’s behaviour.
This branch has always held a special place for me, and it’s painful to see the actions of one server overshadow the hard work of such a fantastic team. I urge management to take this feedback seriously – customers deserve the consistently excellent service that this location is known for.
Come on St. Louis at 5307 Yonge St.! You are far better than this, and I hope to see it reflected in every visit...
Read moreWe been at this location many times. Never have the best service nor worst until one day.
We visited on tuesday night around 10:45pm. The first floor wasn’t that packed but the guy working there suggest us to sit upstair cause we have 7 people. Once we came upstair, we didn’t want to be rude and sit ourselves, however no one really greeting us for awhile but staring so we have to grab someone to ask for a table of 7. No one came to our table for about 15min till we waved someone down to taking order. Later, we wanted to add more food and been told that kitchen closed, that was at 11:20pm. We understand that you have to close the kitchen at certain hour, but it would be nice if the server could have told us about their last call. It’s not the worst till the waitress there starting putting chair on the table for their closing. She actually slammed the chair at the table and made it very loud because they turned off the music too. Lol! Then she dropped the chair at least twice that made all of us very uncomfortable. I mentioned to our server that we didn’t want to keep you guys to stay late at work but if you guys closing early upstair, the guy shouldn’t had send us up here. We didn’t ask for it.
We want you to understand that we came as a customer, paying for our meal, tip you guys, not that someone came to give you guys trouble, or asking for free food. If you don’t want to work or don’t want to serve us or anyone at certain hour, just say it! Don’t waste each other’s time! And really!...
