We had a great experience at Summer's Ice Cream in Yorkville! I took the kids on a sunny afternoon and it turned out to be the perfect treat. The ice cream is very flavorful, rich, creamy, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The kids absolutely loved their choices, and I found myself stealing a few bites too. They’ve got a great variety of classic and unique flavors, and everything we tried tasted fresh and delicious. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. You can tell they care about customer service and keeping the good vibes going. Everyone was smiling and helpful, even though the place got a bit busy while we were there. The shop itself is quite small, with limited indoor seating. It might not be ideal if you’re looking to sit down inside with a large group, but honestly, Yorkville is such a beautiful area that it’s actually better to grab your ice cream and take a walk around. The vibe outside is amazing, perfect for a summer stroll or just enjoying the neighborhood atmosphere. If I had one suggestion, it would be to update the interior design a bit. While it’s still clean and pleasant, it doesn’t quite match the upscale and stylish look of some of the surrounding Yorkville shops and cafes. That said, the ice cream more than makes up for it. All in all, highly recommend! Great for families, casual dates, or just a solo sweet treat on a hot day.

When you are in Toronto! A must visit place to suffice your ice cream cravings! Not many places have good sorbet’s option! But this place has one of the best seasonal sorbet option! Moreover the street itself is one of the most beautiful street at night! Must must go once for sure! 🫶🏻✨

WHAT TO TRY?? Their homemade ice cream! They've been serving ice cream in yorkville since 1985. A truly Canadian shop for more than 35 years! Their ice cream comes in soooo many different flavors and it's all made fresh daily. Their sorbets and yogurts also taste really good! I had their campfire marshmallow since I've never tried the marshmallow flavor and it actually is a flavor that requires more technical skills as I've been told by someone who makes ice cream a lot. I like the ice cream is served in a cone because their cones also taste really crisp and fresh as well. I think I will try the sorbets next time because their sorbets are so refreshing! LAST TIP? don't be scared to test out their flavors first before committing to buying a cone. You can opt for one or two scoops and you can mix and match if you want two scoops. Sit outside by the bench and do some people and car watching as you enjoy your ice cream! Enjoy!

I visited your establishment on June 14 at approx. 10:30 pm. I ordered a small one scoop in a cup. When the female employee serving me handed me my ice cream I noticed a faint red colour on my spoon and at the top of the ice cream scoop. I thought it was odd as I ordered a vanilla base ice cream but I also saw that all the scoopers that were being used for various flavours, all shared the same container of water so it was reasonable to believe that perhaps that same scooper was used to scoop a strawberry or raspberry flavored ice cream before hand. I took a bite. As I did this the same female employee handed my husband his cup of ice cream with two different flavours than mine. At that moment she turned to her coworker and said I cut myself I need a bandaid. As she said this my husband looked down and there was blood all over his cup. We informed another employee behind the register and she quickly took both cups from us. I told her I did notice some red colour in my ice cream and knowing this now it could also have been her blood that I may just have ingested. She proceeded to tell another gentlemen who shrugged his shoulders and offered to get me a new scoop of ice cream. Beyond the fact that my husband and I are turned off why are you offering me ice cream from 3 different tubs that may be contaminated by her blood as it was evident in my scoop and from my husbands cup that her blood was shedding off her cut and touching the scoopers and ice cream. Who knows if it landed in the tubs as she was scooping out the ice cream!!! They seemed disinterested in helping and I am very concerned that they didn't feel the need to replace those tubs and continued serving customers. Beyond this being disgusting it is unsanitary and unhealthy to even think that this employee's blood is being served!! In addition, why would she continue serving me and sticking her hand in these ice cream tubs, give a customer a cup with blood on it (the side with the blood was facing her) and wait until she was done with us to put a bandaid on. Did she think we would notice or say something about it? I am very disgusted with this establishment and more so concerned that employees have not been properly trained to exercise proper sanitary practices not only in these instances but if this is their attitude what other gross practices are...

summer's used to slap when i first started going 10+ years ago, but in recent years, i've observed a marked decline in quality- particularly, depth of flavour and how watery their ice cream is. nowadays, i just find myself going once or twice per annum (only if i find myself in the company of someone craving ice cream in yorkville- though there are better options), mostly just to validate my findings... haven't been impressed once in the past 5+ years, sadly. while it's a bit of a trek from yorkville, if you want truly great ice cream/gelato, head to hollywood gelato on bayview, south of eglinton- to this day the very best i've had anywhere in the city. i don't know what went awry with summer's, but anything i've had in recent history has just been a largely flavourless, watery, mess. but then, i'm not surprised to see as high a rating on here- this city loves anything remotely hyped, and will just keep peddling the notion that it's good simply just because, without objective consideration for the actual quality of product. very strange. i give two stars and not one, because of my nostalgia for the spot- and their waffle...
