Big Wave Cafe is a pleasure to frequent. Its offerings are surf inspired, it says. It serves the classic BLT, which is a sandwich well formulated to get one out on the waves, as well as good drinks, & other eats which will do the same thing & includes oat cakes. The owner, Chris, is charming, welcoming & very helpful. It is conveniently located on Ucluelet’s main commercial road of Peninsula, next to the legendary eating spot, Howlers, & offers outside seating where one can sip & sup if one does not want to do food & drinks as take away. Ordered 2 regular drip coffees .. 7.88 + $1 tip .. paid.. then they tell me there's no cream and if I'd like a splash of milk.. and only one lid available.. I did request my money back, but the owner went to get me some cream instead.. so apparently there was cream.. was also asked by the guy I assumed again was owner to check the drip coffee level for him.. pointing out that I got bottoms and he was going to brew a fresh pot.. For years I've gone up the road to the blue and white gift shop Cafe and thought I'd give these guys a try .. waste of money. I think he owes me some labour pay for checking his coffee...

Absolutely top notch. Great vibes and conversation, owner was very cool, curious and genuine. He recommended the breakfast wrap if I was hungry. I can honestly say I can’t remember having a better breakfast wrap in my life, including the ones I make, and I am extremely proud of my wraps. The texture, ratios, ingredients, contrasting flavours and quality was next level. Don’t get me starts on the smoked cheese and arugula. I am a cafe connoisseur and this was so good I had to call the landline as soon as I was done. Wow. Thank you for your passion and care!! Will be back every time I come...
