I'm not one to leave a negative review, but this was really bad. One of the worst campsites I've ever booked. I booked well in advance and I even paid extra to book the nicer #47 "Forest" site which was listed as having additional amenities that other sites did not have, such as a grass pad to set up a tent on. Needless to say it did not have any extra amenities. What I got was a very small patch of a dirt on a hill literally right on the dirt road, I'd compare it more to an extra parking spot then a campsite. It is embarrassing and I will never book here again. I spoke with the front desk and told him that we expected to have grass and to be atleast a safe distance off the road from cars driving by, he did not care at all and did not try to reconcile the situation. He told me Id have to come back a different day if I wanted to complain. Lol. We left without unpacking and decided we were better off finding a random spot along a public forest service road to camp than this campground we paid for. I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

We stayed here as part of a Motorcycle Camping Trip...... very friendly staff who met us as soon as we drove into the site to do the 'meet and greet' and point us in the direction of our pitches. Pitches were grass sites for the tenting..... with views over the harbour. During the night although it was peaceful, we could hear Sea Lions barking away for most of the night..... lol .... they are about 1/2km away and I liked hearing them... but others might struggle if they are light sleepers. 🙂 Local shops for provisions is about a 10-15 min easy walk to the local Co-op food store and other local stores in the vicinity. Site is rustic, but looks as though they are in the process of upgrading many aspects and areas of the site, as could be seen with the new washrooms etc. I did not see any playground area for younger children. There was a tap and open air sink close to our tent site, perfect for getting water and doing the washing up after meals etc. Nice site, friendly staff, and would we come back here ?..... absolutely...!!

We decided to book one of the four sites down by the boat launch. No services - just a fire ring and picnic table. BUT - there’s a clean outhouse nearby and it’s not that far to walk up and use the showers in the main campground. What you do get is an incredible water-front site overlooking Ucluelet Harbour. From our site we saw Herons, Sea Lions, Seals, even a bear. And the sites are spacious and grassy so you feel clean (no gravel/dirt!). The only downside (and it’s not the fault of the campsite) is the boat launch can get busy with early morning fishermen, and on our first night here a large boat was being loaded up next door and then ran it’s motor all night long. This only happened one night and again, not the campground’s fault. We felt lucky to have front-row seats to nature’s show here on the beautiful west coast, all for under $60 l/night

We had a wonderful stay at The Ucluelet Campground! We stayed for 10 nights in a tent at the beginning of August. We had a spacious site down by the water overlooking the marina. (We stayed in site “M”) it was a site with power, water and sewer.(even though we didn’t need the sewer part) mount Ozzrd is in the distance to the left.

Staff was friendly, and helpful. We loved the amenities that this campground offered.

I found all the sites to be very clean. They have what appears to be a new building with showers both indoor and out, washrooms as well as laundry. Hot water was in abundance. Laundry was affordable $3 per load and $3 for one hour of drying (cheaper then the laundry mat)

There are other fancy outhouse toilets that flush and have a sink.

There are washing stations to clean dishes. Organized spaces available to dispose of garbage and recycling.

As the campground is very busy and much larger than expected It is not surprising that washrooms can get dirty quickly. Especially in the event of rain. Rain is to be expected as this campground is in a rainforest.😀 Staff refreshed and cleaned washrooms daily. When you are dealing with a wet climate, it would be difficult for anyone to keep these facilities, looking immaculate at all times.

There was all kinds of Wildlife to experience and enjoy. From shore birds, raccoons, bald eagles, herons, and deer.

There was a bear in the area, however, I’m glad that I did not encounter it.

Free Wi-Fi in designated areas.

Ice, and firewood is available if needed. As well as electrical adapters in the office.

There are a variety of sites to choose from. Some more enclosed in the trees while others Offer less privacy. Picnic tables at every site.

Some people mentioned that this campground was expensive. However, being familiar with the area, I would say that it is inexpensive to what other campgrounds are charging. The exception would be parks Canada, however getting a campsite is almost next to impossible due to demand. I would like to mention that we did book our campsite nine months in advance.

I think if you know you want to explore the area that booking early is key to secure accommodation.

This campground is situated close to the town. And is within walking distance to some great shops like “image West” and Restaurants such as “howlers” and the “gray whale deli”

We went kayaking with a company called “hello nature” Kevin was awesome! We had a great tour of the harbour with one of his awesome guides.

I love that the campsite has some old growth trees on the property. Right there is a good sign!! Good vibes can be found here.

In short, this campground exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay here again, And are looking to return next year.

Thanks to everyone at the Ucluelet campground for an awesome experience.

Wishing you a great rest of...

So disappointed and will never ever stay here again, I camp out in the wild mainly. Me and my friend though, will pay to stay in a campground with her kiddo and nephew once a year. Anyways we stayed here for something different for them they have never been to Tofino or ukee, so we arrived at the campsite and unloaded our stuff all we did was set up our tent and beds inside, stick our chairs by the fire with the propane fire pit I brought and put a locked and sealed cooler next to it, never even opened, and a sealed locked tote under the table. We were told there was wildlife around so don’t leave food out so we didn’t we took any garbage in a bag from opening our new pump and stuff with us so not a single piece of food or garbage out. And we left to go explore and enjoy our day, we all come back later starving and our tote and cooler was taken? We had a note saying wildlife got into your belongings and we had to clean it up? Please see the office or whatever, and I’m absolutely flabbergasted “wildlife” could get into something locked and sealed and secured when I camp in the actual wild and have never had an issue because we always respect nature and keep our site clean. Anyways office is closed I barley am able to find the after hours number, lucky for me I did or I’m supposed to have no food or water??? For kids to come back to, this is the real twist here, they took it and put it in a locked shed because they felt quote on quote “disrespected” our sealed locked cooler was on the ground? I said so did anything get into it? Doesn’t look open to me nothing is missing out of it? Radio silence…. They just took it because they didn’t like it being on the ground, and felt “disrespected” if a cooler and tote being locked on the ground is disrespectful to you maybe you shouldn’t own a campground???? I could understand if we left food and garbage out and around and things really got into it, but are you for real??? I asked the guy to atleast help me bring the stuff back since they went and packed it all up for no reason and the cooler was very heavy. And he refused. Just very odd behaviour. I would save your money and go elsewhere, I have never ever experienced a campground stealing my stuff because they didn’t like something, not okay. And I know they will not even take accountability and respond to this review because any negitive review above they are radio silent, well the silence speaks volumes. It’s absolutely unacceptable what happened. And I hope future people see this and can plan to stay at a better campground that won’t take...

Terrible experience, even worse customer service. DO NOT BOOK HERE!! When we first arrived we were quite disappointed with our site, there was no privacy our spot was basically part of the parking lot by the bathrooms. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, we made the best of our first night, but the next day when it started raining we got completely flooded, there was no drainage and there was no trees to attach our tarps because again.. it was a parking lot. Our neighbors both had RVs, the site was not set up for tent camping, so maybe they shouldn't advertise for it. As hard as we tried fighting the weather for several hours, we even bought more tarps to try to help our situation, there was no way we could have had a fire that night because the site was completely flooded. The staff was rude and not helpful at all. I had originally booked a different site, it was the only one available on the website and once we got there they had switched us to a different one. We ask them if we could have another one since they had moved us around and all they said was they were fully booked. I wish I was able to talk to the Native woman that checked us in because she was really nice and helpful, when I first went to the office to see if there was another site available, I was told to check online by a young girl with long curly hair, she was rude and condescending. How hard can it be to check for a customer? Isn't that what you get payed for? We ended up driving to another campsite (Lost Shoe) and luckily they were wonderful enough to accommodate us. It was a huge difference in terms of service and sites. Also the firewood was expensive, we always get double in other sites for...
