Had a really bad experience here and honestly would not recommend this place to anyone. Me and my partner got a double membership for a month so we could use their facilities and shower since we were living out of our van. I payed a little over $100 for the both of us, which was expensive for the facilities but honestly I didn't mind at all. What really got to me was the ATTITUDE and DISRESPECT we were shown BY the STAFF our whole trip. Because they saw us in multiple times a day for the whole month they knew we were payed customers. I also was cleaning washrooms at a different lodging place and I was always kind to the staff because I knew how hard of a job it is, unfortunately that energy was not reciprocated. One day it was pouring rain and we were parked in the back where we were allowed to be. The back door is always left open when the staff are cleaning and its two steps away from the washroom. There is no sign saying you can't walk through, so I began to walk towards it trying my best not to get wet although I was already soaked. I was then rudely told that I needed to go all the way around to use the front door. The lady didn't give me an explanation as to why or even a ''sorry but" no manners just rude and condescending. Whatever, I used the front door from then on. Then a week goes by and the same thing, it was pouring rain and I figured I couldn't see anyone there so I'll just slip in quickly so no one will see and it won't be an issue. I was in the washroom putting my things away and getting ready to shower when a different lady (older with blondish hair) storms through to the public washroom and starts yelling at me to never use that door again or else, then storms out before I could even get a word in. Good thing there weren’t naked ladies in their as it was rush hour in the am but honestly I felt as though she breached a major privacy rule and I felt unsettled for the rest of my trip. I of course never used the back door again but my partner unfortunately did just to leave the washroom one day (he scanned his card in before so he didn't think leaving through the door left open was a problem?) But no, that first lady saw and started yelling at him. At that point we both were on the same page about never using that door no matter how convenient it is. Problem solved .... nope... the next day that same lady saw my partner in the back parking lot and sped towards him in her car, slammed on the breaks jumped out in his face and told him that the manager wanted to speak with him then got back in her vehicle and sped away. My partner went to the front desk to try and speak to someone but no one was there (shocker the front lady is never at her desk.) At that point we both felt way too uncomfortable to go back and preferred outdoor showers over old grumpy ladies who found happiness in being condescending and...
Read moreI take my son to the pool pretty much daily now that fall is here and the bad weather. We showed up today and we were notified upon arrival that the pool was closed due to swimming lessons. We were there yesterday and there was nothing posted about it at the entrance. Nothing on their Facebook page as well (checked today and yesterday ) Zero notice of closure by the motel. If there was notice we would have gone before they started or after. We pay for an annual family membership and don’t receive any discounts for these closures. Also house keeping often leaves the basement door open leaving it drafty and cold in the pool and change rooms. Would be nice to see management do something about all mentioned - “why don’t you take these concerns directly to the front desk??” I did and they didn’t offer any discounts for while closures happen. I’ve also shut the door between the stairs and the changing rooms (leaving the back door open) and the next time I went in it was locked open, and they continued to have the back door open, even though both of these doors have signage saying to leave closed. So I’m not sure how much management really knows what goes on while they’re not around, but it’s making it really uncomfortable...
Read moreEasily a very great experience we had staying here for our two-day trip in Vancouver Island.
We stayed in unit 214. The price was only $173 after tax for a two-bed room with one small fridge, and for the price, it had everything you could ask for! It had free Wi-Fi, a clean restroom with hot water working perfectly, soap bars to clean yourself with, and an all-around well kept clean room and clean beds.
The rooms are locked with key cards instead of traditional keys, making picklocking difficult (yes!), and in the cool small little building there is even a small swimming pool, a sauna, and even a grand sized gym which was bigger than I thought! It had such great workout equipment all in good working condition. It was a blast to use it, and it felt great knowing it was included with my accommodations fees.
My only criticism: no compost collection. As I don't live in Ucluelet, I'm not sure if this town doesn't collect compost/yard trimmings waste, but since we ate lots of our own fruits in our motel room, no place to put the skin waste other than a landfill bin like as if this is the U.S. or Mexico. I hope a green bin is something they install for the next time I visit.
I would easily...
