Cadeaux Bakery has been serving next-level pastries and cakes for over a decade. Its popularity, which is evident from its high ranking on Google Maps, is easy to understand. As a bonus, they participated in this year’s Hot Chocolate Festival!

💕 We originally came here to pick up a birthday cake, but we walked out with both a cake AND a limited-edition hot chocolate.

🎂 Birthday Cake - Tropical Cloud (Regular Menu) A beautifully tall round cake with a coconut bean buttercream finish. Every layer was balanced, fresh, and just the right level of sweetness. It was a total hit at the celebration — everyone loved it! 🥥🎉

Sweetness: 🎂🎂🎂🎂 Taste: 😋😋😋😋😋 Unique: 🦄🦄🦄🦄

☕ #041 – Pink Don’t Shrink (Hot Chocolate Festival 2025) A pink watermelon-strawberry-cotton candy hot chocolate topped with chantilly whip, strawberry coulis, and a fluffy cloud of cotton candy. 🍓☁️ It also came with a strawberry cheesecake macaron on the side! Super fun and creative!

Sweetness: 🍫🍫🍫🍫 Taste: 😋😋😋😋 Unique: 🦄🦄🦄

Overall, this place is a must-visit if you’re looking for a stunning birthday cake or just craving a well-made pastry. Such a hidden gem in Gastown!

This place is known for being great at cakes. So I decided to try.

The rubyberry cake is phenomenal. Might be the best buttercream cake I've ever had. The sponge is impossibly light and fluffy while still moist. It melts in your mouth and is not too sweet. The cream is silky smooth and also light. It has a cooling sensation in your mouth as it melts. It tastes like ruby chocolate in a cloud form, but not as sickly sweet. It's addicting and easy to devour! How it retains the moisture while not being soggy, and full of delicate texture, is fascinating.

I came here to consider options for a birthday cake and this place might be the winner. I am just wondering if there's even more flavors than what is showcased as we are looking for more flavors.

Also, for the hot chocolate festival, this one was my favorite by far. This year's first rotation was 'pink don't shrink'. Bursting with rich strawberry flavors and it all worked right together, unlike a lot of eclectic flavors I had. The macaron was heaven and the whipped cream was authentic real whipped cream, with that full bodied cream flavor.

Cake slice with Hot Chocolate Festival takeaway drink was $20.75. One of the only times I can actually justify the price, and may even be willing to pay more for the uniqueness, quality and delicious experience. This place...

I shamelessly wanted to buy my boyfriend an ice cream cake from DQ but walking around downtown will only melt it. I researched and I saw this place. I called ahead and asked if they had the normal chocolate cakes etc. Sadly, they dont have chocolate cakes on standy, they only had lemon strawberry and london fog. I am not a fan of fruit cakes because some fruits are fake and dead, i do not like london fog because i ate the ice cream version of it, but I both got them anyway. Note on pick up: 30mins hold = no credit card More than 30mins hold = give credit card Thank God i got there before 30mins. I bought the 6' Lemon Strawberry and London Fog, $50. And went to deliver the cakes. Now the test, will boys like these fancy cakes? AND THEY DID! i loved the London Fog so much that I kept on eating it and forgot to switch with my boyfriend. I was only going to taste it! Some took more than 1slice, shows you how good it is. I was thanked and people wanted to know where I bought these cakes. I told them the place is right infront of them if 1block was not there. WOHOO! Glad to say that the surprise treat for my boyfriend was a success! I was even told that I should come to their work more Often HA!!! Thanks Cadeaux for making me an awesome girlfriend!!!! I WILL BUY FROM YOU AGAIN EVEN IF YOU ARE TOO FAR FROM THE...

I buy cake from Cadeaux and Cadeaux only because cake usually means tons of sugar and fluff at most bakeries, not Cadeaux, they know balance, they know how to make those flavors pop and shine. Their carrot carrot is not too sweet, I like that. You get raisins, walnuts, and cream cheese frosting, all that. The carrot cake does not seem as rich as recipes I have made at home, but that does not take away from the experience. Overall, you could eat an entire slice plus the frosting, feel satisfied, and not feel like you have become prediabetic or gorged yourself. I tend to like things plain, and skip fudge sauces, ice cream. etc. but I have gained the habit of eating the carrot cake with cold quince compote. Food that is Too Good! Dare I say, without the frosting....you could have this for breakfast. Don't tell mom. I bought a croissant and it was good. It maintained some life and tenderness the day after I bought it; better than most croissants. Cadeaux used to have superb chocolate treats, which I now miss (see photo below - 2019). Cadeaux has now switched to biodegradable forks. Logistics. I normally have to parallel park so be prepared to do so just in case. They provide a white box with a stamped Cadeaux logo for your cake slices. Gives it that in-house artisan feel.
