Lets be clear, the 2 star rating does not reflect the food or awesome vibe this little bar has, as we had planned to spend the rest of our evening here vs bar hopping as we loved the ambiance and the amazing live music! The 2 star review reflects the service unfortunately. I am a main night manager and bartender at Earl's and have been for the past 8 years, and have worked in the industry for over 12. I know the value of good people and how they can taint the perspective of any establishment based on their attitude, thus why I am being so critical. My boyfriend and I decided to try Cavo after paper kites at the vogue and instantly loved the vibe and atmosphere!! The Manager (lovely gentleman in the light blue shirt) was wonderful and welcoming, and started our night off wonderfully and also ended our night on a good note! Our server was " an order taker". No smile, humor or interest in us whatsoever. She did even attempt to create a conversation with us, or No big deal, we were having a good time regardless. The food was delicious and came out perfectly as were thea drinks! We finished our meal ( which was not quality checked, nor were the drinks) and were really enjoying the live musician and had decided that we would post up here for the rest of the evening. I was on my second drink (half full) when a new couple sat down beside us ( probably a good 10 mins after our plates were cleared). The new couple got drinks, chilled out, finished, paid and left and our server had still not been to our table. We watched her make herself a tea, go into the back for a while, gossip to the other girls, check her phone in front of us, do roll ups, greet another 2 tables, and do payments all while walking directly past us to the micros. She would glance at our table and then wander away, so much so that we joked about her thinking that we had already paid. We waited an hour for her to come over to our table. NO JOKE. We had planned to have at least a few more cocktails and a dessert but when she finally came over after an hour to fill our water, she didn't even ask if we required anything else and would have walked away without a word if we hadn't asked for the bill. Best part is that after we paid, we literally heard her talking about the lack of tip we left to the dark haired server who called us rude. We were standing right behind them, and heard the entire conversation. When I explained/called them out on the tip and overhearing them complain about us, she literally said "kay bye" to my face and turned away. No apology or expression whatsoever. I'm not sure if the red haired, white shirt and dark wash jeans girl is new, was having a bad day, doesn't like working there or interacting with guests but from experience I would not let someone with that attitude and utter disregard for customer service and general politeness represent my brand, especially in an amazing place...

Me and my friends 4 of us started on a high note at Cavo food was amazing our server was great felt very taken care of. But that change pretty fast when we were asked to move tables (which we agreed to so that’s not issue) we moved inside from the outside back patio and once inside we could barely talk to each other from across the table as the music was so loud it was obnoxious to the point where it felt like we were in a club rather then a restaurant!
My friends and I ordered lemon drops for the table when we got service after moving and once we got them and took the shots everyone at the table didn’t like them we all felt they tasted off and bad and we’ve had tons of them from Cavo before this is our weekly hang out spot so we know how they are supposed to taste. So we decided to call over our server and let them know they weren’t good and something happened to it and just to give them feedback not expecting anything in return. However after the feedback the manager came over and asked us to explain what happened and we did and she immediately told us we are wrong that’s how they always are and she knows cause she made them. We had some back and forth trying to explain how the entire table didn’t like em and if one person says it’s bad at the table sure we could be wrong it could be personal but when 4 of 4 people say no they taste bad something is wrong and she continued to say how we were wrong and they did nothing wrong. So me and my friend got fed up told her to give us the bill cause we are done this is crazy and she then got heated and saying how we were wrong and such and that we are disrespectful and such. And that’s when we were like what how does a manger talk to us this way I understand people make mistakes but feedback shouldn’t be like this. Upon our way out we tried to explain to our server that she did nothing wrong and we were very happy with her the manager upset us and then the manager walks over and says to the server infront of us don’t talk to them they aren’t worth it and that’s when we as customers got upset yes we got mad and argued with her cause we were appalled we tried to tell her you shouldn’t treat customers like this nor dismiss us when we are giving feedback. We also tried to explain how I run a restaurant in the area and would never treat a customer like this and the manager just wasn’t having it
Overall we love Cavo and will still be back! We will not however ask to deal with this manager again. We do hope the owner sees this and reaches out so we can talk...

I work in the service industry and know what it's all about, ie. can sympthize when I see if a server is overwhelmed, understaffed, etc. That being said I felt uncomfortable as soon as we sat down because the two servers on didn't even greet us with a Hello.. We were grabbing a bite to eat before we ventured on to watch a concert later that evening. Our drinks took 20 minutes after we ordered them. And then another 20 when we got a second round. We asked for Yam fries to start which we never got till the very end. Our mains took an hour to reach the table. And halfway through our meals, my friend asked about the yam fries. Our server without asking said "I'll be right back", then came back with the yam fries when we were almost done our mains. We said no sorry we don't actually want those, it's too late now. To which our server replied " why didn't you tell me that?". I responded saying if you didn't run away we would have told you we didn't want them." We just wanted to make sure we weren't being charged for Yam fries that we never received. The whole time the server didn't even smile, slapped our drinks down, made us feel like we were such a hassle for her. I understand you were busy but we were kind to you regardless. She could have said "Hey guys I'm sorry it's taking so long.. we don't have enough staff", or, "we have a lot going on right now." I would have said "That's no problem at all, dont worry " Instead she came across as very rude and irritated. The food wasn't even worth the wait or the disrespectful server that we had.
