Granville Room — Restaurant in Vancouver

I visited Granville Room last night and had a terrible experience. The bouncers only let people in if they pay them off, which defeats the whole purpose of having a line. This policy stops genuine patrons from getting inside and spending money on drinks.

It's doubtful the owners are aware of this, but it seems like the manager might be complicit. In particular, the South Asian bouncer was extremely unfair, letting people he knew jump the line while others waited for ages. He was also disrespectful to anyone who questioned him. Shockingly, they were letting people in without checking IDs as well.

The bouncers openly demanded money to allow entry, making the line pointless. Many potential customers, including visitors and our friends from Miami and Toronto, were turned away by the bouncer’s behavior and greed. This is setting a bad image for the club, driving away patrons who want to spend money inside.

The management needs to address this issue immediately. I won't be returning and will advise others to avoid this place as well. It's sad to see how the greed of a few bouncers is damaging what could be...

The place is really good. However, this happened on the night of September 4 / early morning September 5. The bouncers outside the bar at that particular time seemed racially biased as well as biased towards allowing their own friends / known people in. We stood in the line since 1:15 am and were told they’ll allow us in once 40 folks get out of the bar. However, an hour later and many more exits from multiple people (as we could witness in front of us), they were allowing random other folks in, who arrived after us. No, we did not misbehave, shout, abuse or act in any untoward manner.. Further. We were extremely patient. Yet, an hour later @ 2:15 am we had to leave without getting an entry. We have been here a few times now for their happy hour on a Friday night. Both times with a large group of 20+ ppl and reservations. I don't know we keep going back though as the service is horrible.

The first time we went my friend ordered a pizza and after almost 30 mins it still had not shown up. When we asked about it, her response was oh you didn't order a pizza! Seriously. We then waited another 25 mins for the pizza to finally arrive.

This last time we ordered a round of drinks, some fries and a pizza at our table. The fries never did arrive. We then asked for our bill and the fries were on the bill?!?

They need to bring in more staff on a Friday night especially if you have a large group of 20 ppl set to show up at 4:30pm.
