Fatburger Granville — Restaurant in Vancouver

So unfortunatly today I had a pretty bad experience at this location. Within our order, I choose the Hawaiian Burger, nonetheless when I tried it there was a heavy soap flavour, I asked my husband to try it out before saying what it had wrong, he pointed out the same, was not eddible. I have no idea what part of the burger was giving that flavour. I told the server that the burger tasted like dish soap and that if it was possible to order something else, It did not matter that could be, even if it was simple or I wouldnt mid being refunded but she was kind confused on how to proceed, so she just turned arround and nod the manager. The manager approached the table, and whitout even saying Hello just asked with an attitude "What is wrong?" We explained the situation and she LITERALLY said " Well we don't prepare the burgers with soap" as if it wasn't OBVIOUS, this attitude surprised me, then she proceed to say "well if its the pinneaple i give you a pineapple then", this when we explicitly said that we did not know what it was and that we have tried this burger in other locations several times. She looked not conveinced and went to the kitchen and brought a single piece of pinneaple in a plate. We were honestly shocked, this person lacks of good customer service skills, instead of saying taking accountability like well we can prepare other one or here is the refund (because they are not cheap $65 for 2 ppl meal), they blamed us. We understand that accidents happen or maybe was even an ingridient per se, but the sarcasm and the behaviour was deplorable. After 5 minutes, where I felt insulted and uncomfortable, the manager returned and just said, "If you want we re make it", taken zero, zero responsability or being empathic. After they brought the burger they said well you are the only people who complaint from a burger you know, blaming us once more. Never ever going to...

Item - Chicken Tender Poutine with Chili side.

Food - Not the best I've had, but not gross either. Taste is subjective but from a general perspective, the side of chili was so salty that it almost turned bitter. Fries, tenders, gravy weren't bad, won't lie.

Service - Horrifying. I entered restaurant a little around 6:20 PM, there was no significant rush but they were experiencing technical difficulties with the ordering system. Took my order at 6:30 PM. Food was served at 7:05 PM (it's abomination in the name of 'fast' food lol). Severe miscommunication among FOH and BOH staff as I heard the FOH staff push up my order yo the kitchen and they even acknowledged it by saying it back, but when I checked what the delay was about around 6:55, turned out BOH staff 'forgot' the order. Regardless, it was served hot and I think they even gave me a bit of an extra portion which I didn't mind. FOH staff mostly looked like they enjoyed gossiping amongst themselves and had a little bit of an attitude that I couldn't quite grasp. But let's move on.

Atmosphere - Basic fast food place. Clean and organized. Nothing to write really. Its just plain alright.

Overall verdict - I don't think this is a bad restaurant and neither am I looking to hurt their business through a review. The moral of my story is keep tabs on the staff and keep an eye on what they're really doing behind counters and in kitchen because your order might just be forgotten. Cheat Meal! Yay! Craving Burger & Fries! Yay! Ok...here it is.

I ordered the Bacon Cheddar Burger with fries. The burger patty was very dry and unseasoned. I love mustard and since it was on that particular burger that was a deciding factor for me to get it, but I could barely taste the mustard. This in a way made sense because even though the individual ingredients of the burger were fresh, the proportions were off resulting in a tasteless burger. I had a few bites and soon just felt like I couldn't taste anything but a dry beef patty which also had no seasoning. The fries were dry and had no salt. I'm not sure if it's this store's overall policy to not add any seasoning to any of their items? Unfortunately, I didn't not finish my meal as I just did not enjoy it. Now, as for the other stuff. The service was good. The place clean.

A little something something about the $$$.

So, this is a fast food place, right? Ok. With that out of the way.....why is there a tip option?.....I mean it's not really an option. The debit machine was set up in such a way, as to confuse the hell out of you. I had to ask where I had to press if I didn't want to leave a tip. What am I tipping you for? Am I tipping you for giving me the burger that I just paid for? Premium paid for by the way. I paid 17 bucks for a dry and unseasoned burger and fries.

I rarely eat this type of food and with three other burger places literally on the same block, I wont' be going back to...
