Hon’s Wonton Cafe. To all my fellow food fans and experts here is my personal review and thoughts and preference from this place. As you know Hon’s is considered to be a historic landmark for local vancouverites since the restaurant name means House Of Noodles🥟 🍲 About a year ago they closed down the iconic Chinatown location and the Richmond location for quite some time. To me just even the name of this place brings back taste memories of their own style of potstickers and bbq noodles and wonton making it a classic and traditional place. Once I heard they opened a spot in Olympic village, I was really eager and excited to try it and get the 🥟 and 🍲 . Once it came it tasted fresher different and less sodium and less flavour in the broth. When the potstickers 🥟 arrived it look perfectly made cuz of the new gyoza press machines ramen places have . And the pork filling was really thin . The only better thing was the new vinegar mix it had . Maybe I am biased and still nostalgic to the original Hon’s, but this smaller menu and different taste was exactly so so. I missed the crunchy skin slightly greasy and more flavourful pork filling . And as for the noodle soup the wonton was decent but no 🍤 flavour also it missed the prawn and chive flavours from the soup making my noodles seem lacking exactly what u listed . To me I will stick to the original Hon’s in Robson street. However if you need something quick and moderate, then you should try this newer location that I think is catered for the newbies and tourists. Stay tuned until the next...
Read moreDecided to come here and order take out the other day. Ordered the Spicy Beef Brisket Lo Mein and are at home.
Small dining space. Ambiance is okay. But due to the pandemic. Obviously there was nobody there. Glad they were open as not many other restaurants are these days and if they are, very short hours during the day. I came here because they were the only restaurant open within a short walking distance.
The food is decent. It's not hard to make. So the order was quick. They staff are friendly and respectful.
The portion is decent generously surprisingly. The noodles were cooked well. And the taste and flavor was quite good. There's not a lot of Hon's franchises around anymore. The only one that I can think of in Vancouver is the one in Chinatown.
The food is decent. If you want Chinese food that's quick on the go. You can definitely come here and order out to eat at the comforts and safety of your home. The prices are relatively decent for what you're getting portion wise.
Be sure to tip generously during this challenging season! Support our local businesses!! We need each other during this time of the pandemic. Let's get through it together by supporting our local businesses as much as we are able to.

Read moreOCTOBER 2018 We have been a Hon's Wonton House fans for thirty five years. The first one was a narrow take out store in Chinatown with only two tables. One was always occupied by an elderly lady making Won Tons. Have been to them all. Miss the one in Chinatown and in Richmond as they had specialties soups and other noodle dishes on their menu.
Saw the new location in Olympic Village on 2nd. Ave. The day was cold so a bowl of soup would be great. So decided we had to stop for won ton soup. The other locations are franchises and this one is owned by the warehouse. The staff are very cordial and willing to explain the menu. The food is all prepared by Hons staff in house and is authentic Chinese style recipes. The quality of noodles and Won Tons are exceptional. The soup base is light and not over seasoned. The menu is limited but the prices are resonable and the bowls of food are very generous. Seating is limited as it is not a full size restaurant but if you go off of the lunch hour traffic you should get a seat. If you want the real thing give Hon's on East 2nd. In...
