Came here for the first time on a whim, and left feeling pretty disappointed. The food is ok, it’s definitely fresh but I found the flavours to be lacking a bit. The Al Pastor chicken, at least the one I got in my bowl, didn’t really have any pineapple taste or pineapple bits and the beans were also pretty bland. The portion also was a bit small. I thought the burrito bowl was 15$ as labelled in bright pink on a wall menu you see when you walk in left of the cashier, so I got that and a Jarrito drink, and the total before tip came to a little over $24 dollars. I thought this seemed a little high for a 15 dollar bowl and a drink that really shouldn’t be more than 3 or 4 dollars, but I didn’t say anything about it, mostly because I’m working a lot of overtime these days and just don’t have the energy for confrontation of any kind, and I left with a bit of a strange feeling about it. Stranger still, a woman came in after me and ordered 4 tacos. She ordered them and when the cashier plugged it in and walked away leaving her to pay, she said distinctly, “wait, that’s not right.” The cashier came back and I heard the woman say “thaaat’s better!”. Further made me wonder if I was overcharged. Additionally, the girl who helped me just seemed miserable or something. Not even a small smile or a have a good night, enjoy, or anything. I understand we’re all only human and everyone gets tired but when you’re charging higher prices for your food you should really be making sure that is justified in every way, or people will walk away feeling overcharged and with less value than they paid for.
I also thought the “mmm yah BC is kind of more expensive than Manitoba :/” response on here to the gentleman (Joseph Barrientos) that pointed out the prices were high at this restaurant, was really unprofessional and adolescent for a business and honestly reflects to me a bit of what I experienced in shop. I recommend going to Holy Guacamole instead for slightly better pricing, very delicious, fresh, and flavourful food, and friendly, warm, and appreciative staff. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless they were to make...

I do not have a problem with the service and friendliness of your staff. I went there a few days ago and I was very disappointed in the owner for having removed some options...such as taco de Nopales, rajas and mole. What?!!!? Are you serious? Why did you take those items from your menu? Instead of giving us (your clientes), options, you are limiting on what should have. If you take those items away, why not offer us different tacos? Why don't you have any tacos with pork? No carnitas, no al pastor, no chorizo? Quite frankly, you (the owner), are going from bad to worse in running your business. I used to frequent this place, but not anymore. I can make authentic Mexican food as well, but my job keeps me extremely busy. Therefore, I seek to eat out at my favorite places. Los amigos WAS my favorite, but not anymore. My question to the owner and manager is: Do you make mole sauce from scratch? Why did you take the most authentic item off your menu? Do you spend days creating this dish? Are nopales so expensive that you cannot afford them? Your taqueria is not what it used to be. I'm very, very disappointed in you. You are fired! You are not the only taqueria in town...you have competition...in case you didn't know that. I can eat tacos somewhere else! Adios...

Pozole to me is ranked right up there with birria and ceviche — If it's on a menu, I have to order it, no questions.
This pozole had tons of flavour layered into it. It didn't just taste like rojo broth — it was more rich and flavourful than other rojos.
I always go for pozole rojo, and that's the flavour they have here at Los Amigos. Also had lengua and carne adobada tacos. Both were excellent.
If you're into spicy food, order a side of the habanero salsa. Habanero has a way of being very smooth and flavourful while also having that kick, and their house salsa is perfect for tacos or mixing into that pozole.
Go here for sure, support some wonderful Mexican food made locally, and if you've never tried pozole, order it here and you'll know just what it tastes like in Mexico when it's done perfectly.
Thank you Los Amigos, you...
