Disappointing. Summary: dirty, poor service, and poor value for money compared to other places.
Agree with many of the other comments here about how dirty this place has become.
We were a party of 4 for dinner, arrived around 6pm, Saturday, June 22, 2024. No line up at all. Hadn’t been to this location in a long while, and the lack of a line up should have been an indication, this place always used to be very busy!
The carpets and floors were so sticky, we felt so gross the whole time we were there. Bathrooms are extremely disgusting, and not kept clean, see pictures here. The cleaning sheet in the men’s bathroom hadn’t even been filled in at all (see picture), and the way the bathrooms looked, they probably hadn’t been cleaned all day, or even longer! My daughter mentioned there was only one clean/useable stall in the women’s bathroom, as the rest were filthy. Another customer coming out of the one clean stall commented to her that it’s too bad that there’s only good stall to use, the others were too disgusting.
A number of tables were empty (customers had dined and left), but lots of dirty dishes and garbage remained on the tables, not a very pleasant or welcoming experience walking in to the restaurant, on top of the sticky floors.
Based on the condition of the restaurant, management doesn’t seem to care, and it seems like the employees have picked up on that and don’t care much either. It seems like management is intentionally running this place into the ground, and have stopped caring. Cleaning and maintenance is not a priority and is just not being done. Didn’t notice anybody working that appeared to be a manager during our time there, management seems to be missing! Maybe the lease is ending soon, and therefore management has no interest in maintaining the place?
Portion sizes were small compared to other restaurants, wings and spinach dip over priced and less quantity than other places. Very cheap with the amount of chips provided with the spinach dip, this is not how it used to be, things have really gone downhill.
Kids Mac and cheese serving size was so small, the only saving grace was that it was bottomless, so we ordered another serving to compensate, (the size of the serving has been drastically reduced from what it used to be).
Kids dessert was missing the cherry on top, we checked the menu and it said there was supposed to be a cherry, but there wasn’t one.
Our appetizers and food all arrived at the same time, despite clear instructions to the server about what we wanted as appetizers first, and what we wanted for dinner afterwards.
Three of four main dishes arrived together (with the appies). No sign of the fourth main dish for quite some time, and no sign of our server or anybody to flag for help. Three people in our party were more than halfway done their meals, before our server came by, and we asked her about the missing fourth dish. She came back with the dish and an “oops, they forgot to bring it out”.
Poor service. For a restaurant that wasn’t overly busy, servers were not very attentive. Agree with some of the other comments that servers are more interested in their personal conversations versus helping customers. The tall waiter with the beard spent more time talking about his golf game with an older gentleman customer versus helping his customers/tables, even sitting down at the customer’s table to carry on his golf conversation for a while. And again, no manager in sight to encourage staff to be more attentive to their customers.
A very disappointing experience all around, from cleanliness, to service, to quality/quantity of food. Not worth the...
Read moreI don't know what happened last night. The last time I was at this or any location was in 2011 (lost a great pair of sunglasses here at the time), but after last nights experience I don't think we can return. Arrived around 7:10, wanted to sit outside and were given menus and told to seat ourselves. On the 'balcony' there were uncleaned tables full of dishes with seagulls fighting with crows for the scraps. we sat far from that table at a tall table and waited... When the waiter finally found us it was almost 7:30 and we were thinking that perhaps we were expected to go inside to order food. Ordered a burger, rings, and a chicken salad with salmon substituting the chicken. Also lemonade for our 5 year old and some waters. Then we waited... People were coming in and seating themselves... ordering... we got our drinks, and the purple lemonade was undeniably tasty. As time passed, those who arrived later than us were all receiving their orders (burgers, salads, rings, etc.) But still we kept waiting which gets difficult with a 5 year old. Well after we ordered would I discover that there was in fact a kids menu on the bottom side of the colouring paper they gave her (which thankfully saved us and kept her busy). Perhaps if we were seated properly and introduced to the menus I would have realized that without considering what I would have to order and share with her apart from an additional appetizer. At perhaps 7:45 we received our rings, which may have been waiting a while as they were just a touch of warm. they were good, especially with the brown sauce, but far from hot. Then we waited... My daughter who isn't a fan of onions was increasingly hungry and it was already past 8 pm by this point and three tables that had arrived after we sat had now already left. As I went in to simply cancel the order and leave I saw and followed another server who walked right past me with our food. Thinking things were finally gonna happen and we'd get a chance to eat... we realized they had never brought and cutlery or napkins. Since it's pretty difficult to eat a salad without a fork, and three minutes would pass without any servers in the area I left the table once again to find someone and request cutlery. The server was apologetic and carried some out for us. Arriving back at the table my wife alerted him, as well as myself, to the fact that the requested salmon substitution was missed with the original chicken (again barely warm, as were the burger and fries) topping the salad. The server apologized again and offered to bring out a cooked serving of salmon, or else we may have to wait an equivalent amount of time should we choose to send the whole order back wanting the dish as ordered. We would also notice that even the avocado was well overripe and blackening. We were just getting our food, improperly prepared, unable to eat it, and at least an hour had passed since we sat anticipating a nice time after a day of walking, exploring and shopping.
And so, for the first time in my life I had to simply cancel the whole thing and leave. The server was trying his best, but over worked and noticeably distraught and as we left he fully understood our concern; voiding the order. I don't know how other patrons were in and out promptly without issue well before we would even receive our food (Did they go shopping for the unserved salmon and avocado post order??), but my patience was stretched... and stretched... and stretched again until it broke. My sympathies to our server who meant well, but whatever it was that failed last evening certainly...
Read moreI am usually not the type to give bad reviews, but my partner and I were utterly disappointed with our experience last night. Don’t get me wrong, we usually love going to Red Robins, but this experience has made us think twice before going to another Red Robins establishment.
First off, when we were first seated we were brought to a table that had no lighting at all, (the overhead fixture was broken) the tables were not cleaned prior to our seating (there was food stuck inbetween the creases of the table) and the drink menus were also not cleaned as they were still sticky from previous use. So naturally, I had asked if it was possible to be moved to another table, and our server gladly took us to another area of the restaraunt.
This table offered better lighting, but the service was honestly quite disappointing. The both of us came here hungry and we were expecting or hoping to be in and out quick. But it did not feel like we were being noticed by our waiter and we had to wait some time before ordering and getting our food. I’ll be honest, our server was pretty nice and he seemed pretty busy at the time (which we totally understand), but again it felt like not much attention was given to us.
Unfortunately, it doesnt end here. Towards the end of our meal and trying our best to get out of the restaurant, we still waited a significant amount of time just to recieve our bill, which then resulted in my partner getting startled by a RODENT crawling down a corner in a booth next to ours. I had turned around and had seen it myself. And let me mention, this table was BESIDE the kitchen, next to the walkway where servers take the food out to the floor. We did bring this up to the manager working at the time, and his response was not sufficient at all. He acted like it was a normal day in the books. He brushed and laughed it off like it was nothing. He said something along the lines of “We should have pest control coming in soon, we haven’t gotten around to it yet.”.
Before I close this review off, I’d also like to mention that we never recieved any form of compensation from this experience. So we will not be coming here again and I will always have to think about this experience everytime I go to Red...
