Was hungry for Chinese takeout and came upon this restaurant after doing a Google search around my hotel. After reading the online reviews I had some reservations, but decided to give it a try. The chef/owner and his wife were very friendly, asked me what I was hungry for and for how many people. I decided to order the most basic - Stir-fried Beef Chow Fun and Wonton Soup. I figured - these are so basic and should be a good barometer of the quality. After about 10 minutes I walked out with my order and was on my way back to my hotel. The food was great! The chow fun were intact - not broken into small pieces like some of the lesser-skilled takeout places. There was ample tender pieces of beef and the “wok hey” (slightly charred taste from the high heat of the stove) was just right. The wonton soup was flavorful and not heavily seasoned - the wontons weren’t the traditional HK-Style ones, but closer to the wontons from Taiwan and other parts of China. I had a small order of the wonton soup and there were 8-9 pieces of wonton, each generously filled with minced pork and a shrimp. The filling was lightly seasoned and not over-powering, which is fantastic for those who are not into the traditional more fishy-tasting HK style wontons. What impressed me was the small attention to detail. To prevent the soup spilling during transport, they had covered the soup bowl with clear wrap before putting on the lid. I’ve had many takeouts / food deliveries and this is very rare. Overall a great little gem that’s a bit hidden away. Good food and I will definitely be returning - always great to support small businesses like this.

Ever since this place was newly acquired the food has been horrible! The first few times, it lacked taste, but we let it go....this recent time I sent my kids to order/pay for several orders of sesame chicken..the kids paid cash and asked for a receipt but were not given a receipt. They came home with the order...what they were given was not sesame chicken at all..rather a very sour/vinegar tasting order and the chicken was hard and raw, tasted horrible and smelled worse. With the samonella outbreak recently..raw, bad smelling chicken is very scary! Upon calling the restaurant to let them know and ask for a refund and to bring this order back to them to see for themselves...I received rude treatment by an employee who said ..."so what I just work here..the owner will be in the store at night" and wouldnt give his name, nor owner contact info - very rudely and hung up the phone. I am actually beyond disappointed in the poor quality, lack of freshness, lack of professionalism (no receipt given to prove purchase/order), and total lack of customer service. We like to support small, locally owned businesses...but when they lack any sort of service like this, it s hard to continue doing this.

I'm not sure why this place got so many stars other than maybe they're doing their own reviews because I went and spent $70 on 3 combo meals and some spring rolls and a couple of pop and I tipped them $5 I and the meals that we ate were horrific they did not look like anything that was served at the table. And they would not refund our money so I think that the negative Post in this are the true ones that's what I think but people can pretend all they want they won't pretend in front of God I went back and read the reviews and they seemed very over the top and this place was not that great not at all the meat was dry and hard to chew and full of fat. Beware of spending your money here I'm trying to look for a place where I can send some photos because I found a lot of reviews similar to mine and I will post them they're the ones that are correct don't waste your money here you will get sick probably they won't reimburse you. But I will definitely be back for my $75.00. they will wish that they had just offered my money back. Lol.

They close at 8:30pm but I got there at 8 looking for some food to take home. I walked in and there was an instant hello from the family, Dad (the cook), Mum (does the packing and hosts), and the kids (both friendly little ones). I went to the counter which is also the viewing window for the lunch items, and talked with Dad, Allan :-) The first thing that really impressed me is you can see the entire area of where the food is prepped, cooked, and served and I tell you it was immaculate. The place was so clean! It definately made me feel relaxed about the food I'd be getting. I talked with him about what I was craving and what I should maybe get and with his help came to a great combo of items. I ordered and he told me to give him a bit and he went straight to work preparing my order. Mum then asked me if I'd like a coffee while I waited, I declined with a no thank you, then we started the task of settling up the bill my order came to $31 and I gave her $40 and told her to keep the $8 change. So I sat and waited talking, sort of, with their young daughter, she was fun and very well behaved. When my meal was finished being prepared Mum then packed it up into a nice reusable bag. At this point she asked me what I need as in cutlery and sauces condiments etc and I replied just 2 packets of soya sauce please. This really made me feel great about this business because they genuinely seem to care about the environment and excess waste etc. so I took my order, left wishing them a great night and a thank you...it was 8:35pm. I got home. Dug out the cutlery I would need and opened it up and dug in. Everything from the wonton soup to the sweet n sour pork were amazing and it was all thanks to Dad cooking it up fresh when I ordered it. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves Chinese food. The prices are good, especially for the freshness and portion sizes you get!!! The best thing about the place is the owners/family! They are real people that are truly friendly and want to make sure you feel welcome and that you're getting great food and service. Glad this place is just a few blocks away from my home and one block from my...

This little restaurant hidden just off a busy street in Vancouver is a hidden gem of sorts. Completely unassuming and tucked into a corner, you'd barely know it was there if you weren't looking for it.

We walked in and the air was thick with sesame oil smoke; once we came in, the chef--the only employee in the restaurant--greeted us, and turned on the venting fan to clear the air quickly.

We took a seat at one of their few basic tables. The solo employee came out with paper napkins, cutlery and cups. He poured us water and left us with the menus. A couple people came through the door while we were deciding what to get, asking for over-the-counter take-out, which they don't have (order ahead only for takeout!).

We ordered: hot and sour soup, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, mixed vegetables and an eggplant and tofu dish. It was all exceptionally tasty, and made to order right then and there. The lone cook/waiter got right to work and had our food out to us inside ten minutes. Big portions for sharing, it fed four of us with leftovers. The price point felt right for how much food we got. None of it felt overly heavy or greasy and the sauces were all flavourful.

The restaurant lacks ambiance and it felt a little disorganized, but all in all we got a tasty meal at a good price. Would return for sure, especially...
