We arrived at Yolks for brunch around 12:30, finding it busy but not crowded.
Mr. Reddy, the owner/manager, helped us choose dishes according to our food preferences.
We opted for the Yolks breakfast with toast instead of pancakes—everything, including the ketchup, is house-made, impressed. The bacon was fresh without the usual smell, the poached eggs were delicious, and the potato bites were crispy - 5/5
The buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was tender and juicy, accompanied by perfectly baked and fried potatoes. Chicken isn't the regular frozen patties, it's marinated and made with house-made batter, sauces and spices. The sandwich bun and chicken just melted in my mouth 5/5 😀
Freshly squeezed orange juice and their specialty coffee - cappuccino was delightful. The special thing about their coffee is the beans are custom-roasted for yolks” - both are 5/5
We ordered a cinnamon roll pancake for dessert and I was expecting a cinnamon roll but was surprised to see the pancake with cinnamon roll taste - sweet, resembling a cinnamon roll pancake with icing, nuts, and chocolate sauce with dusting of sugar powder and the way they presented this will defenitely makes you crave more! This is also 5/5.
The ambiance is quite pleasing including their aesthetic journey displayed covering the entire wall and a quote, "Life is too short for burnt coffee,”
Overall, exceptional food, friendly staff & exceptional service and I would give it 5/5💜
If you want to spend an ample amount of time for breakfast/brunch, Yolks is...
Read moreI think the most infuriating thing is when you order online and your meal does not come how you ordered it… ESPECIALLY when take out orders are like 3-4$ MORE than at the restaurant. If you would like your orders to come correctly I would not order from them via delivery, the eggs in the photo… do those look like soft poached eggs? Obvs not. And when I phoned to speak to the “manager” although apologized he was incredibly condescending stating he “is standing there poking every egg before they go out in take out orders and they are so soft they are about to break, that’s how soft they are. We don’t even sell hard poached eggs unless specified”. So what am I LYING SIR?! Only writing this to show proof that clear as day these are not soft poached eggs! Restaurants who don’t take pride in take out orders because we can’t send it back and or “complain” do not deserve support. But also find a new manager that doesn’t speak down to your customers. I wouldn’t normally write a review but the manager was that awful. But also try coming off a 12 hour night shift starving and then getting a meal you’ve been waiting to eat for a few hours now, and paid a ridiculous amount of extra fees for, and it is wrong? And then you call to speak to someone and the manager is there trying to gaslight you, ya you would be...
Read moreThis is my favourite Yolks. I'll tell you why.
The one on Broadway is a disaster because of food and service. The one on E. Hastings....well....it's E. Hastings. Environment Matters!
The one on Davie. Stunningly bright. Smart floor plan. Modern Set up. Impressively clean and the location.....well the location can't get any better than that.
Have you ever flown first class? Well....imagine this...you board the plane and the first cabin....is...well...First Class and you see big, bright and excited faces and smiles from the crew literally seating you. If you're in Economy....you keep walking through the doors and into Economy and that's when the smiles are slightly more tired. You get my drift.
With Yolks Davie. The service if First Class all the way.
The menu. Great selections and Make Your Own Breakfast which I loved. I got the Florentine Benny. The taste and flavour was all there. It just wasn't hot, barely warm. The Egg. Potatoes were both cold.
It was the same with the Make Your Own Breakfast. It had cooled off before it was served. But every single item was fresh and tasty, so the dish wasn't poor. It had just gotten cold. Nothing that would not make me wanna go back. Just a friendly note to this wonderful staff.
We're glad you're here. Welcome to the...
