This was our first, and last, visit to this restaurant. We went because we’d read pretty good reviews about it. Our experience was anything but good.

First, my daughter and I used the washroom after we ordered and there was urine splattered all over the seat. Not a little drip or two. Full on soaked. There were sprinkles all over the floor as well. Filthy.

Next, our order arrived. The food tasted good enough, but then my daughter pulls a piece of plastic out of her mouth. It was a jagged-sharp, triangular-shaped piece of yellow plastic, about the size of a nickel. It had been baked right into her pancake. It looked to be a piece of kitchen utensil or bowl that had chipped and dropped into the batter. We waved the server over, and showed her. She apologized and we heard her holler to the kitchen as she left our table, taking the plastic piece with her.

My daughter couldn’t eat after that, and I felt more and more nauseous with each bite. We finished up quickly, leaving most of my and my daughter’s food untouched. When my husband went to pay, he asked that they take the price of our daughter’s meal off the tab. They refused! The woman said, “I’ll give it to you for five dollars.” I was astounded! My husband doesn’t like conflict, so didn’t push it. I’d already left with my daughter, or I would have. What kind of restaurant does that? I am fully aware random accidents can happen in a kitchen, but take responsibility for it. Making us pay for a meal my daughter couldn’t eat, because of their mistake? Bad business.

The way they handled, or rather did not handle, this incident left us feeling this was a dis-reputable business. Had they offered to comp the inedible meal, rather than us having to ask, and then be denied, could have changed the way we felt about the entire incident.

Horrible service....

Great breakfast, my favorite for my family and i to go! I am not sure what happened with shirley and her breakfast (the neggative 1 star review) but accidents happen and if they gave your daughter a brand new breakfast, why would you expect it to be free?! Just because your daughter didn't want to eat it? And you feeling "more and more nauseous" eating your breakfast.. well im sorry but it sounds like you are a little high maintenance.. as for the bathroom I have never seen it dirty like that. It probably just happened and they hadn't seen it yet!? You could have nicely told them and they would have cleaned the pee off the seat ASAP. To put such a neggative review on a fantastic local business is very poor. to everyone reading the horrible review below I would honestly ignore it because in all the times I have been there, I have never had an experience like that and If I had, I would have handled it differently than the customer below. I don't work for Rosalindas but it just really erks me to see a review like that. It is an excellent place of business and very popular....

We had a horrible experience dining in this restaurant. There was a mistake regarding our order that my husband couldn't eat and the server keep on insisting we have to pay for it. Normally if there are mistakes, the server should be nice to the customer and apologize no matter what ths issue is and they will take the food back in the kitchen. But in this place? No, they never apologized and they even humiliated us in front of our toddler and other customers!! The server (probably the owner) kept on saying "No you have to pay for it!" I really felt ashamed because she was raising her voice and I was calm clearly saying my husband cannot onions. Really poor customer service, their washrooms were even filthy and servers need proper training here. The food that I ordered was not that bad. It was just annoying that my husband did not enjoy his lunch because he lost his appetite with the incident and decided to eat somewhere else. Don't even bother...

I always hate breakfast restaurants, but Rosalinda's is the lone exception of my thirty years on this Earth. My girlfriend is here from Manila for the summer. I took her to Rosalinda's as it is the only Filipino restaurant in town. It has been around for 10 years. Rosalinda is the cook (she starts cooking at 3am), and her husband is a local Blue Jays fan. The whole staff is Filipino and speaks Tagalog. My girlfriend felt very comfortable here. The Filipino menu is very authentic. It's like being at a Tita's home somewhere in Luzon rather than a Jollibee. It isn't the best menu for vegetarians/vegans like me, but the Spanish Omelette was amazing. Even the bread tasted really good. I hate 99 percent of all toast and omelettes, but not here. Other than the Vietnamese restaurants, it's the cheapest in town. Since it's one person cooking, hours are limited to 7am-2:30pm. So get here early!

Rosalinda’s is quickly making a name for itself in Vernon. I asked a local for a breakfast recommendation and Rosalinda’s was top on their list. We were greeted at the door and.were able to sit where we wanted. The restaurant has seen better days and our cutlery, coffee creamer and jam came in a plastic woven bowl which could have had more thought put into it, but we’ll overlook that detail. The menu was extensive, however we settled on a Philippine Canadian breakfast and the ham and cheese omelet. I got a side of purple Taro toast that was spongy and delicious. The sausage which came with the Philippine meal was mildly spiced and sweet, and my eggs were perfectly done with hash browns on the side. Both meals were good, though not spectacular, except for the toast. I also saw some amazing looking pastries by the cashier. Worthy of a visit!

This place is incredible! When I moved to Vernon around 6 months ago I made it a goal to try every restaurant I hadn't been too before and this my friends is a goldmine. Rosalindas feels like home, the service is genuine and comforting and the prices are modest. They offer top quality ingredients and portions that are HUGE. Housemade fresh buns, deserts and authentic Filipino dishes makes this place a MUST try if you're in the Vernon area. If you're lucky enough to obtain the coconut buns before they are sold out they are my favourite.
