This place is supposed to be “family friendly” and “good for kids”, but I was just asked to leave for my toddler having a meltdown because her food was too hot. We tried to look at the fish tanks when we arrived, but we were asked to move so servers could walk through. Then when my daughter was crying, they suggested we go look at the fish tanks to entertain her. Sorry, we were told not to be there. We were asked to go outside in the rain because she was crying. I started boxing up our food to leave, and as I’m doing this they came over again asking us to go outside. So I’m not even allowed to box up the food that I paid for before going outside in the rain with 2 kids? Talk about family unfriendly. If you go to dinner at 6pm, common sense dictates there will probably be some kids there. If your restaurant is advertised as “family friendly” and “good for kids”, maybe don’t ask the mother with an upset child to go stand outside on the street in the rain with her. And if you are going to do that anyway, don’t act impatient and insist she go outside immediately while she is trying to get things together to leave like you asked. So unbelievably rude and insensitive to well-intentioned paying customers dealing with a child who burned her mouth. I will not be back here and will advise everyone I know of this ridiculous experience.

*Your response further exemplifies my assertion that your establishment is not family friendly and others should be warned to not bring their kids there.

We actually called ahead and said we were running late, and hostess said it was fine as the restaurant was not crowded. The suggestion that you should have reassigned our table as a punishment (when clearly you did not need to given the fact that the table was open and you did seat us) is just petty. Reminder, you are in a customer service industry.

No one was running around the restaurant. My 11yo niece was showing the younger kids the tanks. She is very responsible and instructed them to not touch the tanks. Young children do not always listen immediately. She reported you asked them to move due to being in the way of the servers. And when they were asked to move, they did as you instructed. There was no running.

I did not complain that the food was too hot. I said my daughter was upset about her food being hot. I tasted it myself before she did (but thanks for your implication that I was not being a good parent and protecting my child from hot food). She is just picky about hot food and it made her upset.

Of course we were taking steps to manage the situation. Do you think we were enjoying the screaming? Comforting, holding, blowing on food, offering milk, offering other food, etc. A family friendly restaurant would note a parent desperately trying to calm her child down, and the suggestion that taking her outside to stand in the rain would improve the situation shows that people should not bring their kids here.

Going to a “family friendly” restaurant for an early dinner will include small children. And small children make noise and sometimes cry. No one asked your staff to “babysit” (really?!) and we were caring for our children the entire time, but obviously not to your satisfaction for those other diners unrealistically expecting a fully adult dining experience between 6 and 7pm.

Next time I will tell my 18 month old son that he has to respect the dining experience of others when we go to what is supposed to be a kid friendly restaurant. I’m sure your establishment is otherwise great for what it is trying to be, I only take issue with advertising as a family friendly institution. This implies young children are welcome, and your reaction to the situation and response on this platform shows clearly...

Finally - a not-so-salty restaurant for me as a typical Asian.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The tasteful decor, combined with soft ambient lighting, created a cozy and intimate setting that immediately put me at ease. The attentive staff guided me to a comfortable table and took their time to explain the menu and make recommendations.

One of the standout features of this establishment is their commitment to providing dishes with just the right amount of saltiness. As someone who has often found local restaurants' offerings to be overpoweringly salty, I was delighted to discover a menu that emphasized flavor without relying on excessive sodium. Each dish I sampled was a testament to the chef's skill in achieving a perfect balance of flavors.

To accompany my meal, I opted for a glass of wine from their thoughtfully curated selection. The restaurant boasts an impressive array of wines, each carefully chosen to enhance the flavors of the dishes.

In addition to the exceptional food and wine, the service at this establishment was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring that every guest had a memorable dining experience. Their professionalism and warmth added an extra layer of enjoyment to my meal.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough for those seeking a culinary haven that celebrates the art of flavor without drowning it in excessive salt. From the delectable oysters to the expertly crafted rolls, every dish is a testament to the chef's skill and commitment to quality. Coupled with an impressive wine selection and impeccable service, this establishment stands out as a true gem in the city's dining scene.

Finally, I have found a restaurant that understands the importance of a balanced and less salty approach to gastronomy, satisfying the cravings of Asian cuisine enthusiasts and discerning...

We were tourists in Victoria on Thursday and we stopped by this restaurant looking for food. We were a group of 5 and I had my service dog with me. We went in and waited about 5 minutes before a waitress (blond hair, hostess) came over and as soon as she looked at us she told us that the dog couldn't come in. I let her know it was a service dog and that I had my certificate with me to show her. She looked at it with a very bad face and told me to show it. She looked at it for a long time, gave it back to me and went inside saying that she had to ask something. She came back later and said that we could go in. We told her that we preferred to go outside because a) it was a nice day and b) we know that there are bitter people who ruin their day when they see a dog in a restaurant.

We went out to the patio and since there were 5 of us we tried to fit 2 tables of four to sit at. It should be noted that putting them together didn't block anything because we were at the back and there was only an elderly couple in the place. At this point another waitress (a blond women too but older) came out and rudely told us that we couldn't put the tables together and that we had to split into two tables. The waitress quickly left after this. At this point we understood that our presence was not pleasant for the two people who had served us and we decided to leave. The waiters (more specifically the two women with the blond hair) are extremely bitter and have a bad face for everything. We left after this feeling that a) they didn't serve us decently because they hate dogs and we had one b) that's how they serve everyone or c) because we were immigrants. Either way we went to a nearby restaurant where they very kindly seated us and treated us in a humane manner. What bitter people work in this...
