Melbourne cafe is not what you’d expect in the centre of Valparaiso, Chile. Nor in the main confluence of traffic and parking for tourist minibuses like ours. Normally places like these trade on the fact that 98% of customers are one-timers. So they don’t have to try too hard. We went twice! Once after parking and on the way up the hill and once on the way down after a thoroughly enjoyable tour of the colourful areas of town. Melbourne was a great stop-off both ways, and not just because there’s two toilets, female and male. Good coffee and friendly efficient service. Our tour guide Max of Journey Latin America recommended Melbourne and we’re glad we followed his advice.
