Ascensor El Peral — Attraction in Valparaíso

If you are in Valparaiso go up one of its ascensores or elevators/ lifts. We have taken both the Ascensor Artilleria and this one. The cost is 100 pesos each way. At the top of El Peral visit the Palacio Baburizza a good museum- see my review for photos. At the top of Artilleria, the great Naval Museum and a row of souvenir shops along the Paseo 21 de mayo - I also have a review. Very nice, well organized, ridiculously cheap, and everyone who works there is attentive and helpful. Unfortunately, while we were there, we witnessed a very rude, loud obese local woman yelling at a worker, which was very unpleasant to see. We truly felt bad for the worker, who was only trying to help. Those kinds of people should be escorted out by police. Very good...

Como habitante de la ciudad de Valparaiso no me parece lógico que se invierta en este medio de transporte necesario para porteños como una atracción turística. Desplazando a los propios habitantes en su uso por los grandes grupos de turista que llegan. ¿ Es un aporte para la ciudad, para los porteños? Hoy priorizaron a un grupo de más 18 extranjeros por sobre yo y mi papá que estábamos haciendo la fila, el ascensorista refirió burlescamente al decirle que encontraba que no era justo el trato prioritario a turista en relación a quienes habitamos la ciudad, se refirió como " otra vez el mismo comentario" . Bueno, le menciono a ese ascensorista que si constantemente quienes habitamos le hacen ese comentario debe ser porque algo no es apropiado en la inversión y manejo de este transporte de uso publico, pésima su labor de ascensorista y su respuesta. Cero aporte , mejor inviertan dinero en reparar los ascensores necesarios para el uso cotidiano de porteños y no para un fin turístico, prioridades y contraten gente más adecuada...
