Hostel Voyage Hostel Valparaiso — Hotel in Valparaíso

We booked the hostel and arrived the following day after a long bus journey and paying for a taxi to the hostel. to be told that they had cancelled our booking but didn’t inform us no email didn’t get in touch with hostel world to tell us. ‘but basically telling us in so many words it’s because they have accepted a bigger booking and they needed more rooms’ in which we was the smaller booking so they had decided to cancel ours.. leaving us in Valparaíso with nowhere to stay and proceeded to tell us that they have another Arrival soon and they have cancelled there’s too.. after contacting hostelworld and telling them about the situation. A couple of days later the hostel contacted us explaining there was no way they could understand ya to refund the deposit. When we explained that it was there fault. They replied ‘how is it our fault’ they should not be advertising if they don’t have rooms and accepting deposits.. they couldn’t have cared less that we was without a hostel and very rude. Amazing hostel that I‘d recommend to anyone spending even one night in Valparaiso. The staff are infinitely friendly, kind and helpful and the organised daily activities are a great chance to meet people and experience Valparaiso. The place really feels like a home rather than a hostel due to the friendly atmosphere made by both the staff and guests. Would highly recommend staying on Sunday for the afternoon visit to Isla de Fantasia (bar with live music and bonfire) and Monday evening for the family dinner but you could easily spend a week experiencing all the different activities like move nights and live music. As a group of 4 girls we planned to stay in Valparaiso for 2 nights, but loved the hostel so much we stayed for just over a week! The rooms are comfy, the bathrooms clean and comfortable, the communal area perfect for chilling, eating, making music and making friends. All the facilities are perfect and the location of the hostel is only a short walk from a beautiful sea view and not so far from the centre and markets. The staff make you feel at home and I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone. I plan to come back and stay forever!!! Best...
