Windows is a lobby lounge and dining venue at the Four Seasons Macau on the Cotai Strip. They offer all day snacks, light bites and afternoon-tea as well as tastefully decorated environs. Opening hours are 10.30 to 10.30pm.
We stopped by for lunch during Easter holiday and didn't find Windows to measure up to expectations we have for Four Seasons venue. Decor and ambience was very good, just want we expect. However, we found kitchen execution to be off and staff to be ill-trained and awkward during our lunch.
We ordered a pizzetta. Crust was just fine but goat cheese not melted enough being a mix of soft and solid. Arugula was a bit sad to look at, leaving us disappointed with the preparation and appearance of the meal (see pictures). It must be said however, that It did taste ok. We also tried the Wagyu burger ordered medium rare. Burger was served rare and a bit cold to the touch. This was very surprising and would have been something many would likely have had to send back to the kitchen. In our case, we are ok to eat rare burgers and when prepared with quality beef, which was the case here. The burger was good, it was simply not prepared correct to medium rare temperature.
We were surprised that Windows missed the mark in the kitchen as much as they did. Unfortunately, service was not up to the Four Seasons standard either. Orders were delivered in a strange sequence. Pizzetta first, table bread second and burger third. Bread was served with frozen, rock-solid butter. The pizzetta was clumsily placed on top of the sliver ware, making a bit of a mess of the place setting by a nervous staff member.
In the end, the food wasn't that bad but we expected better execution and presentation. As for the service, that was just strange. We would not have been happy with the kitchen nor staff performance had this been the Lobby Lounge, Blue Bar or restaurants at the Four Seasons in Hong Kong and found it difficult to be satisfied with our experience here at Windows in Macau. Hopefully they were just having a really rough day as visitors should expect more when dining at Four...
Read moreA very fine Afternoon tea experience. I also strongly recommend the Wagyu beef burger on the Ala Carte. The staff are extremely kind and professional. We sat on the leafy veranda which had a Colonial vibe what with all the faux Venetian architecture and overly courteous staff. I forgot I was in China and that's a good...
