I recently stayed at The Londoner Grand Hotel and while many aspects of my stay were enjoyable, one shocking incident has made it difficult for me to rate this hotel higher than 2 stars.||What went well:||The front desk staff were friendly and professional. On my second night booked via the Marriott app, I received a proper room upgrade and 4pm late check-out as recognition for being a Platinum member.||Breakfast at The Conservatory was a pleasant experience - the set menu was simple but tasty, and the staff were attentive and helpful. The adjacent G-bear coffee shop was convenient for picking up souvenirs right after breakfast.||Though I didn’t use the pool or gym, I stopped by and was greeted warmly by staff, who provided an introduction to the facilities.||My upgraded Charles Suite was modern, clean, and well-equipped: large bathtub with in-mirror TV, walk-in wardrobe, separate coffee maker and tea kettle, and a well-stocked minibar. My favorite feature was the OTTO full body massage chair - perfect for relaxing before bed or after waking up.||With all these, I would have easily given 5 stars — but then came the incident.||What went wrong:||On my first night, the front desk confirmed my breakfast was valid until 1pm and extended check-out to 1pm as well. However, at noon the next day — while I was in the shower — I suddenly heard loud noises at my door, as if someone was forcing it open. Shocked, I rushed out in a bathrobe to find the door partially opened (thankfully, the safety latch stopped it) and a man still pushing against it. When I demanded to know what was happening, he brusquely announced it was “time to check out at 12 noon.” I explained I had 1pm late check-out confirmed, and that the Do Not Disturb light was on. Regardless of timing, forcing a door open on a guest is completely unacceptable at any property, let alone a 5-star hotel.||If I hadn’t used the safety latch, the staff member would have entered my room while I was still showering — an extremely unsettling thought. In my many years of staying at luxury hotels, I have never experienced such behavior. Best practice in the industry is to leave a written note under the door, not to knock, call, or physically force entry.||I immediately called the front desk to complain, and later spoke with the manager on duty. He was empathetic, promised additional training for housekeeping, and offered a small goodwill gesture (fruit plate, later replaced with a 400 MOP dining credit). While I appreciate his response, the incident itself was unacceptable and should never have happened.||Bottom line:||This hotel has much to recommend — friendly staff, lovely rooms, thoughtful amenities — but my experience was marred by a serious lapse in guest privacy and security. I strongly urge future guests to always use the safety latch and report any incidents immediately. Until this property implements stricter training and policies to prevent such intrusions, I cannot recommend it as a reliable...
Read moreThe need for some amusing gambling, the need to get awya for a night, this ws all invested into the Londoner Grand Hotel and Casino and Macao on a Thursday to Friday.||The inital check, a normal procedure, with additional opportunities to be given for free meals and or gifts, by completing a task within the Londoner itself, become a bit of a dectective and find a paque in the name of Margaret Thatcher. Accom;lished.||The rooms, based on the 13th floor, were putstanding, a small home within four rooms, a bedroom, abthroom, dining area and lounge. It may have been small for some, but was comfortable with electric swtiches to close shades, currents and lights. A good coffee machinewas provided, with the usual hotel amenaties, including iron, hair dryer, plenty of coffee, sugar, tea etc, good washing facilities, including a good sized bath, with a TV at the tap end, and a cosey cushion to lie back and enjoy the relaxation and meassure of water flowing around.||The Londoner itself was a psotive place to venture, with quite a large walking area, plenty of eating options, and a great deal of shopping opportunities, if you are willing to spend that little extra HK dollar. It was bright clear area and the casinos, though not as large as, for example the Venetian, did provide more options, including a private and very high risk membership only opportunity, for thos with plenty of money and cash to pass away. The ocitures, statues and plaques, laid around the Londoner, including Shakespear, Henry the 8th, Elizabeth the 1st, and paingings of the Blue Boy etc, gave it a very British alignment.||In the evenings on Tuesday toThursday from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, there was a short 'CHanging of the Guard" production of 5 minutes, with a British idea behind it, this show as fair, but a nice introduction for new comers and maybe even the youngsters. This is one area, that even a place like this could do better, a little more for the younger, therefore, relieving the parent, who may opt for a gambling period, the chance to enjoy some of their own events and allowing for less nagging to parents for something to do.||There were also some language issues, but these were far from a problem, but overal, this short stay, wa positive and recommendable to anyone, aiming to gamble and have some fun time. At the same time, the Londoner was further adjoined to the Parisian and Venetian Casino and atrims by a bridge, therefore, allow more gambling and shopping options, without even stepping out into the heat of the day or night.||Further adventures, were but a bus ride away, heading to the centtre of Macao, or free rides to and from the borders, however, ensure you check the times, therefore not missing either the early morning or late evenings lass rides.||Take a ride to Macao, and see if you can come out a winner or take away the fun of a bright city, with lights galore, to brighten up your horizen and with history in the central city, to give you something else to...
Read moreI stayed at Londoner Grand from 22-26 Sep 2025. I must say, I had aone of my best hotel experiences here. ||My room was comfortable and the space was just right. I like the modern technology including the curtain and the music. I like the adjustable light in the bathroom as well.||I feel that everything inside the room from the bed to the small item such the slippers were well-thought of.||I have to acknowledge that the staff, who were friendly and accommodating, did well in ensure the my stay was something to remember. The Housekeeping Staff, in particular Roland Gnilo assisted me whenever something was missing in my room.||When all I thought was the end of my stay and I was just waiting to check out, I met Sanjieb Posadas from the Concierge Staff at the Lobby, who showed me other features/activities in the hotel. Sanjieb is pleasant and has high-level customer relation and oral communication skills. Having been with the hotel for a few good years, he is a good "go-to" staff whenever a guest needs information or directions, including how to take photos with my iphone. I have observed this while I was with him, when visitors would come to him for info.||Sanjieb was more than kind enough to bring my luggage to the waiting area for the hotel shuttle. He added value to my experience...
