A Luxurious Stay with Unparalleled Service
My review of this wonderful hotel might be slightly biased, simply because I had the privilege of staying there during the most breathtaking time of the year—Chinese New Year. The experience was nothing short of magical, and what truly elevated it to another level was the outstanding service provided by the staff.
From the very first moment, I felt valued as a guest. The attentiveness and exceptional memory of the hotel employees made a significant impact—whether it was handling reservations or answering the most trivial questions, no request was too much. The level of care and effort they put into making guests feel comfortable was extraordinary.
A special mention goes to Ms. Daphne Ng, a remarkably kind, attentive, and courteous woman with an exceptional aura. She stood out not only for her warm hospitality but also for the small but meaningful details that made my stay unforgettable.
One morning at breakfast, she greeted me by name and casually engaged in small talk about the best activities for the day. It was such a personal and thoughtful touch—something that made me feel truly welcomed and valued as a guest.
But what truly amazed me was an experience I had at the concierge desk. I needed a ticket booked, and as soon as Ms. Daphne spotted me from afar, she immediately rushed over to assist. Without hesitation, she took over the conversation with the two concierge staff members—but what made this moment exceptional was that she spoke to them in English the entire time, simply because I was standing there. It was clear that the two employees were struggling slightly to keep up with her pace and grasp every detail, but she never switched to Chinese. Out of sheer respect for me as a guest, she remained in English, ensuring that I was included in the conversation rather than just standing there feeling lost.
This level of consideration was something I had never witnessed before in Asia. It was a moment of pure professionalism and dedication—despite the visible effort and pressure it put on her colleagues, she prioritized making sure I felt respected and involved. The concierge staff, with great effort and determination, managed to complete the booking, and witnessing this level of commitment to guest experience left a lasting impression on me.
That being said, one major downside for me was also, paradoxically, a huge plus: the location. It is undeniably stunning, but navigating to the hotel—especially if you are unfamiliar with Macau—can be an absolute challenge. Even within the Four Seasons shopping mall, finding the way to the hotel was unexpectedly complicated. I am not exaggerating when I say that even after a day or two, I had to concentrate to get back without getting lost.
Another point worth mentioning is the hotel’s design. To be completely honest, it is not my personal taste. I generally prefer a more modern “new money” aesthetic, while this hotel leans heavily into an elegant, “old money” style—rich wood tones, classic luxury, and timeless sophistication. Of course, this is purely a matter of personal preference, and for those who appreciate this style, the hotel will be an absolute dream. Even if, like me, you lean towards a more contemporary design, the exceptional service more than compensates for any aesthetic preferences.
To illustrate just how impeccable the service was: even the security staff remembered my name and greeted me personally when I returned late at night. This level of attentiveness is rare, even in top-tier hotels around the world.
The breakfast buffet also deserves a special mention—it was excellent. Although the hotel was incredibly busy, the staff managed to keep everything running smoothly. However, I strongly recommend arriving before 9 AM, as it tends to get quite crowded, which could lead to a less enjoyable experience.
Overall, my stay was absolutely fantastic. The service, the atmosphere, and the experience made it all worthwhile. If you value outstanding hospitality, this hotel will...
Read moreA quick over night stay as part of our HK trip. We got straight from an early flight from HKIA took the bus to the Macau station for the first time. I failed to plan how to go to the hotel from there so ended up taking the casino buses. Basically we got to the hotel through the bustling retail and restaurants from the Venetian side. We arrived early and Terrence welcomed us at the front desk. Our room wasn't ready but he was trying to find the next ready room, told him we we're ok to wait and wanted to have lunch so he picked up our bags for us. Fixing ourselves up, we sat down their magnificent stair case lobby and were amazed. The cushions were soft, the pillows and artwork, it was our first experience in the Four Seasons brand. Skipping details of lunch we went back to the hotel and Terrence accompanied us to our room, snacks were laid out and he selected a higher floor with views of the driveway. If you want me to describe it simply the rooms were spic and span to the best of your imagination. I didn't see dust, marks or anything that you'd normally see in other hotel chains. The hotel slippers were soft and classy, the pillows and bed was immaculate and smelled like a good night sleep. The room was spacious with lots of cabinet space and space for work if you ever need to do some. The bathroom had all the required bells and whistles and loved their selection of amenities. ||||We went out to the city for a the usual macau stroll/tour. We headed back before night time and were so pleased to see some snacks and healthy soup sent up by Terrence to the room with his personal message to enjoy and relax after our long day. I wished we ordered in but we were still full from eating out. We woke up not to early but just in time for brekky at Belcancao. This was a surprise the breakfast buffet had a hefty selection, we weren't expecting crabs and oysters this early morning but it was more than welcome. Enjoyed the various fruit juices, fruit selections, would have wanted more savory selections but its breakfast so its ok. A hotel trip comes to full circle when you swim and enjoy the spa amenities. We loved the cabanas with drinks and snacks, the heated pool and the big pool areas that you can lounge around. We got caught off guard with the spa and had a most relaxing time. The body shower blast thingy, the open snow machine and the pool like jacuzzi were all amazing (pardon the ignorance in spa culture). If we didn't need to go back to HK that day we could've spent a lot more time. || ||Tip: Stay more days and let the good people in Four Seasons take good...
Read moreThe Four Seasons Hotel Macao Cotai Strip surpasses all expectations and sets itself apart from any other hotel or chain. Booking the Fine Hotels and Resorts package with my Amex Platinum Card was a wise decision, as it included breakfast, guaranteed late check-out, and a $100 voucher for their Spa or restaurants. While previous experiences with the "Upgrade where available" promise had been disappointing, this time was different. Chester, the assistant manager, was a true expert in customer service. He personally called me prior to my arrival to confirm the details and went above and beyond by arranging something special for my partner's birthday.
There was a minor hiccup with the shuttle bus from Taipa Ferry Port, the situation was swiftly resolved by the attentive representative, who arranged a private hotel limo for us. Upon arrival, the warm welcome from the staff, coupled with the recognition of my previous stay, demonstrated their commitment to exceptional customer service. Chester had informed me that we were upgraded from a king room to an Ambassador Suite, and I was absolutely amazed! Despite being a Gold Member with Hilton and Marriott, I had never received such an upgrade, let alone to a suite! The suite was stunning, hugely spacious, and offered breathtaking views of the Parisian Hotel's Eiffel Tower. The complimentary snacks and drinks in the pantry were a delightful touch.
To celebrate my partner's birthday, two friendly gentlemen surprised us with a birthday cake and snacks. The breakfast spread was outstanding, with an abundance of fresh and delicious options. We indulged ourselves and left truly satisfied. Using my voucher, we enjoyed the best afternoon tea experience ever! The restaurant's tasteful decor, coupled with the welcoming and informative front-of-house staff, created a memorable ambiance. The food was exceptional, beautifully presented, and featured a delightful mix of homemade sweet and savoury delicacies.
Having previously stayed at The Four Seasons in Hong Kong, even during lockdown, I can confidently say that their service is exceptional! Hilton and Marriott should take notes from Four Seasons. As a Gold Member with these other brands, I have never received anything close to what Four Seasons provided. This experience has solidified my loyalty to the Four Seasons brand for all future special occasions. Hilton and Marriott, you now take a backseat. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Chester and the entire team for creating the most unforgettable stay of our lives. We will definitely return, as Four Seasons has become my go-to luxury...
