I would say, this is a small unusual restaurant, but good for a restful meal between 5 people or less. The place is very informal, long tables and chairs and generally low priced, and good for eating bat-kut-teh [肉骨茶stew or soup], a serving of the original restaurant, but lately a small variety of Indian curries or cuisine can also be served together. Imagine yourself transported to a place sandwiched between two restaurants. Because of this combination it is not for those who minds can only eat one singular type of cuisine from a single sitting location. This is actually a sharing of two types of cuisine because a nearby Indian restaurant owner decided to befriend what is essentially a Chinese medicinal dish or Bak Kut Teh restaurant because he felt the ambience was better here than at his own restaurant just nearby!! Actually I fancy the lamb curries because it is very south Indian style and warming just like the main Bak Kut Teh dish without being too chilly. Very tasty and not too spicy at all. Both the lamb curries and the main Bak Kuk Tei stew has been stewed for hours on very low heat. So you can imagine a very tasty meaty dish, both very nourishing as well as satisfyingly tasty, whichever you should choose. A get ready for...
Read moreThis restaurant used to be my favourite a year ago, but I am really disappointed on my order tonight. I ordered a vegetarian laksa and a hot barley drink. The taste of laksa was very different from before. It should be Singaporean laksa soup made of coconut milk and spices but now changed to tom yum soup. The hot barley drink has smelled like which had made for so long ago and became bad. I told the waitress politely the drink went bad. The waitress smelled the drink. I could tell she agreed with me but she’s too green to make decision. After awhile, there was another lady come to us and said the drink was made today. I told her I was living in Singapore for a long time and I could tell the drink went bad. She then stated “ I just made it and will not refund.” I didn’t want to make a scene but I am very sure she lied. It was because it takes at least 30-45mins to cook barley to expand and soften normally. They only took 10mins to serve me the drink. I am very disappointed on this restarant and will not visit once more. If you are the person love Singaporean food, I recommended you not...
Read moreSo today we passed by this Malaysia restaurant and decided to give it a try.
It's summer and it's burning hot out there. To combat the heat, I ordered the ice sour plum drink. It's perfect for this weather.
Milo dinosaur is pretty awesome. It reminds me of my childhood memories. It's a bit too sweet of my liking now, but I enjoyed it.
I'm honestly impressed with the althenticity of their laksa noodles. The mixed noodles gives it a distinct texture resembling the authentic Laksa Noddles. The shimp is fresh and the soup is right on.
The Malay choconut pasted rice is refreshing. It has a hint of sweetness to it. On the side, it comes with some dressings that you can pair with the rice. Frankly, one of the dressing is too hot for me. The chicken wings are quite good too.
The meat floss naan is quite surprising. It's a perfect snack. Never tried this before and I like it.
Overall, if you happen to pass by this restaurant, be sure to...
