<A Hipster Canteen for Delicious Chinese Food> Located in the quieter part of Tai Hang, 前座飯堂 is a restaurant which has a retro design, with a hint of hipster and new age element. I ordered this Green Curry Chicken Noodles (glass noodles and rice vermicelli), and it came in this colourful and traditional bowl :) I like how 前座飯堂 takes order — scanning a QR code and order on your phone, which allows me to opt out for things that I don’t like — scallion. The green curry was so delicious! It had a strong nut taste, with a hint of refreshing spiciness (I opted for mild spicy). Both types of noodles went so well with the green curry, yet the glass noodles were a bit chewy. There were also a reasonable amount of shredded chicken in the bowl. Would definitely like to come back to try out the yummy looking deep fried chicken fillet!

🌶️ There used to be this awesome “Spicy (& Sour) Noodle” place near the office in Quarry Bay, but which closed down a couple years ago. The concept was simple - pick your noodles, toppings and level of spiciness; served in a bowl of pork based broth. 🍜 “Chin Jor Fan Tong” in Tai Hang last night, a little shop dressed in retro fashion was the next level of awesome - this time in a beef based broth.. not only can you pick the level of spicy, but also the level of Szechuan pepper numbing effect! ..and the beef was so smooth and tender, literally melting in the mouth…🐄 #hkeats #hkfoodie

Food was great particularly if you are fond of rich flavoured food. The noodle soup was spicy and numbing. Spiciness and numbness can be adjusted to your preference. The beef noodle soup was great, but be careful with picking the spiciness and numbness level. Atmosphere was great apart from being bitten by mosquitos. Luckily, PnS was nearby. I was able to buy off lotion. The server was very nice and efficient.

Update : 11/02/2025: so sad the vegetarian noodle soup doesn't takes the same anymore. It's been 4 times I go back and the original flavour is gone :( ( I had this soup more than 10 times) it taste totally different. It was truly the best soup, now it is good but doesn't have this incredible special taste anymore. Please use the same ingredients again. To keep original flavour 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
