1️⃣𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐇𝐊$𝟐𝟗𝟖 Cooked in a delicious broth that made of white wine, garlic and butter, the mussels tasted divine. When the flavourful broth was trapped inside the shells, it made the mussels tasted even juicer. Don’t waste the leftover broth, you should try soaking up the broth with some toasted bread.

2️⃣𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐊$𝟏𝟗𝟖 Well-seasoned but less moist chicken breast. The mashed potato, on the other hand, was truly impressive! Creamy, silky and buttery, I couldn’t ask for anything else.

3️⃣𝐍𝐚𝐬𝐢 𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠 (𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞) 𝐇𝐊$𝟏𝟰𝟖 As I mentioned earlier, the restaurant also offers some Asian dishes such as garlic naans and fried rice. The Indonesian fired rice was in large portion, which tasted sweet and savoury thanks to its authentic sweet soy sauce (also called kecap manis in Indonesia).

4️⃣𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐊$𝟏𝟑𝟖 Coated with a thin layer of golden edges in triangular shape, their French toasts were thick and fluffy. Its rich flavour was further upgraded by vanilla ice-cream and chocolate jam. Slices of bananas, strawberries and blueberries completed the dish by giving it a refreshing and sweet kick.

Great location. Friendly staff. Was seated on second floor balcony with great view over the ocean. However, despite the price, the food was unbelievable bad. We ordered the pomelo shrimp salad. The shrimps seemed to be either dried out or totally overcooked. I cook frozen shrimps frequently at home, and I wish I would have done it that day too instead. The spice also clashed with the fruitiness, in a bad way. It felt like a poor mans attempt at a thai style salad.

We had the cherry and the banana milkshakes as drinks. Both of them had an incredible artificial taste to it, not coming in anyway remotely close to the taste of a banana or a cherry.

At this point, we asked the staff to cancel the remaining dish we already had ordered, as we had given up hopes on anything good coming out of that kitchen.

While one staff went off with our request, another arrived with the dish. The dish was supposed to be half a chicken, but this was probably the tiniest chicken I have ever been presented with. It was half the size of the quarter chicken served at Flaming Frangos. I had eaten frogs bigger than this.

Since we had already decided to just leave at this point, the staff was very understanding and friendly and took off the chicken and one of the drinks of the bill. We left hungry and...

Had the set lunch menu priced at HK$158 plus service charge. Starter, main, dessert and coffee or tea.

Coffee came with no milk (had to ask). Clam chowder soup - came with no spoon - was nice but not seasoned (only with parsley flakes). Went for the beef cheese burger. Mistake. Tasteless meat, uninviting, bun too big, no seasoning, accompanying fries and salad were ok. No salt or pepper provided.

Dessert - undetermined - was ok. Small and not like the photo which showed something else entirely. At least say if it's different.

They forgot about my friend's food and we did complain three times but nothing materialized. We were the first to sit on the upper floor so forgetting the food is inexcusable. Especially as newcomers were all served their food. The till was right next to where we were sitting too. The manager did come up to apologise and was nice - these things do happen after all - and we paid for what we ate less service charge.

It was a shame because we spent time looking at every restaurant next door and picked Beesy Bay. Great location and views but let down by the food...
