The first time I went to Beyrouth Bistro, the taste levels of what we had were decent. The attitude levels of who's probably the owner - higher.

Today, when my usual to-go falafel place in Hong Kong was closed, I walked down a few more steps and ordered a falafel wrap takeaway. And I asked him to pack me a spicy sauce on the side. The taste levels of some of what I ate today - barf! Attitude levels - well.

He asked me what kind of a sauce. I said spicy, AGAIN. Without reciprocating his attitude. He asked me again, what kind - yoghurt, garlic, chilli? I should've taken a moment there and ran! I don't remember eating spicy yoghurt dips at any Middle Eastern places I've been to, but I calmly responded chilli.

The lady in the kitchen just brought the wrap out, and when the owner(?) reminded her of chilli sauce, she took that plastic squeeze bottle that looked like ketchup. I consoled my self saying they must know better than to use ketchup in a falafel wrap. Especially when I've asked for a chilli sauce.

A grumpy child all the way back walking home and then I open my wrap to see what looks like ketchup, no kidding. It tastes like ketchup, no kidding. Even my five years old could taste that.

No lining of hummus, a very dry wrap. Pre fried cold falafels. I rarely, rarely, rarely call back. And I'd paid cash so nothing to gain there, but ketchup, for Christ's sake! Calling the place, he calmly repeated again that it's just their chilli sauce and they don't add sugar.

Yeah, he could be speaking the truth. He might be adding four specks of chilli flakes in the ketchup and call it their chilli sauce, so technically, he didn't add any sugar!

Argh, Hong Kong! Is it safe to say, "Hong Kong, I cannot take...

Beyrouth Bistro is a fantastic little spot that I've come to enjoy, especially after a good night out with friends. With not many food options available at 2-3 am, it's always a relief to know this place is open. Their kebabs are my go-to, but I’ve also enjoyed their hummus on occasion. The food may not be the most exceptional in the world, but it’s consistently good and does the job of satisfying late-night hunger.

What really sets Beyrouth Bistro apart is the atmosphere. The owners are incredibly friendly and always up for a chat, creating a lively vibe that feels welcoming whether you’re sober or not. The banter between the owners and patrons adds a special charm, making the experience even more enjoyable. It’s rare to find such consistent quality and such a warm atmosphere in a city like Hong Kong.

The portions are reasonable, and the flavors, for me, stand out compared to many other Middle Eastern places I’ve tried here. The kebabs are flavorful and well-seasoned, and the hummus is rich and creamy. While the prices might be a bit on the higher side, I think it’s worth it for the late-night convenience, the consistent quality, and the friendly service.

Overall, Beyrouth Bistro is a great little gem, especially for those late-night cravings. It’s a place I’ll keep coming back to, not just for the food but for the warm, lively...

Many people told me about this place, so I had to try it as I am a huge fan of Lebanese food. But my recent visit for a late chicken shawarma wrap left me completely underwhelmed. I was really looking forward to some authentic Lebanese flavours, but the wrap I received just didn't deliver. It was missing the vibrant taste it's supposed to have. There were no pickles, no sauce, the meat was dry and tasteless, and the pita bread seemed old. A sad lettuce leaf and two stale tomato slices as garnish didn't make the cut. I have literally never had such a poor-quality Lebanese wrap in my life.

If only I could say that the overall experience was saved by the owner's welcoming spirit, but no. He was super cold, barely acknowledged my polite order, and looked at me the entire time like I was going to rob his place. A really weird feeling.

This was the first and last time. There are way better options in HK—even if you are drunk and it is late, just go to the...

Beyrouth Bistro is a small place for Lebanese food on Lyndhurst Terrace right next to the famous Tai Cheong Bakery. Opening hours are 12pm to 10pm daily. You'll find open style counter seating at Beyrouth Bistro with a handful of stool seats, enough for probably 8-10 diners at a time. Otherwise, you can order take-away or delivery from the likes of Food Panda and Deliveroo. We dined in, finding service to be friendly and timely. During our meal last month, we very much liked the Lamb Sujuk and Shawarma. The sujuk was a well grilled patty style sausage, succulent in flavour and quite tasty. The shawarma was stuffed with spit lamb that was also flavourful, it included lettuce, the right amount of spice and yoghurt. This was a very good shawarma, especially for Hong Kong. In the end, we like this casual street side eatery and found the food better than expected during our recent visit. This is a fast, tasty place to eat that won't break your wallet. We'll be back.

My experience at Bayrouth Bistro was nothing short of exceptional. The culinary offerings were delectable, showcasing a masterful blend of flavors that delighted the palate. Each dish was crafted with precision, reflecting an unwavering commitment to quality and authenticity. Complementing the gastronomic excellence was the impeccable service—attentive, courteous, and seamlessly professional. The staff’s dedication to ensuring a memorable dining experience was evident in every interaction. Bayrouth Bistro is a paragon of culinary artistry and hospitality, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to discerning diners seeking an unparalleled epicurean journey.

There is proper hummus here, and the original hummus is the best one I’ve tried anywhere. It is a little spicy, but not very. The place is a family business, and has been here for many years. The place is semi outdoors and the vibe is simple, so prices may feel high but such is the neighbourhood.
