COVA Ristorante & Caffe Pacific Place Branch — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

My experience here was absolutely horrific. Let's start with the food, the food itself is adequate, if you have no moral compass and strictly care about the food then this is probably the place for you to go.

However, the racism that exists in such a place is absolutely mindboggling. During my visit, I watched the staff in this restaurant humiliate, berate and actively bully one of their own staff that was not chinese. The poor girl was on the verge of tears when I asked her if she was okay. The manager himself was aware and actively ignoring this behaviour from other staff.

I am absolutely disgusted that behaviour like this is tolerated and frankly I shall never return to this establishment again. I shall actively encourage those in my network to AVOID this restaurant.

COVA no longer feels like COVA. Very disappointing.

We were seated and had to wait for 20 minutes to receive water and menus. After waving down the 2 servers (twice) in one section, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes to order our meal. Overall, the food fell short of our returning expectation.

While we waited, I decided to do what I always do: buy gifts and souvenirs from their cake/chocolate shop. Very disappointing experience with Cova Pacific Place. I have a $300 dining coupon from Pacific Place and wants to book a birthday cake for July. When I visited the Cova store in April and showed staff the coupon, they said I could only pre-book cake 2 months in advance, and suggested me to come back in May (right before the coupon expires). When I visited the store again today, a different set of Cova staff told me with poker face that I could only book cake for 6/16 (instead of 7/16), because I am using a coupon!
